My husband and I trying to concieve, we've been trying a couple months now. Well see how it goes. I'm really excited, and cant wait to finally be pregnant. i have this saying, since I ahve so many neices and nephews, "always the auntie, never the mom"... I want to be the mom now. Im so nervous about not getting pregnant, I feel like everyone around be gets pregnant so fast, but me. Let me know any advice, wish me luck, and good luck to all of you!

I CANT WAIT MY ULTRASOUND IS ON TUE, AND I REALLY EXCITED FOR MY HUSBAND TO SEE, I CANT WAIT FOR HIM TO SEE OUT LITTLE MIRACLE, I JSUT SCANNED MYSELF YESTERDAY AND SHE WAS DOING FINE. Starting to show now, I gained 13lb so far, yuk I hate gaining weight, because it doesnt come off easy for me and I gain everywhere, my legs, arms, Im pretty proportional when it comes to weight gain. The baby has been lazy lately,, must be going through a growth spurt... cant wait for her to be here.. saturday I will be 23 weeks :)

yesterday I went to labor in delivery for increase vaginal discharge. The doctor was worried for amnion leakage. So the Dr. did a pelvic exam, used stripes to test for fluid, and one under the microscope. It was just vaginal discharge, thank god. They had me on the monitor for the entire time. Tested my urine, and did an ultrasound to check for fluids. Me and the baby were healthy.. Thank god :)

Thanks!! Your daughter is adorable!! Gripe water is a natural supplement that has ginger and fennel in it and sodium. I think it actually made my son have diarrhea and vomit today though, and has me worried now, although i dont know if thats what caused it.. But the mylicon seems to work for him pretty well. It doesnt totally take the gas away though... Anyways, my son is on Soy since day 1 in the hospital after a few spit ups from reg formula. Soy is working out pretty well, but he still has gas, so i dont know if it even makes a big difference and the soy can cause constipation, so... it may have an effect on the gas though, just not as much as you would like. Good luck!

Hey there! Glad to hear you're doing well!

ladobruk - Monday, 31 Mar
I am doing well, thanks. We’ll see what the next week and half brings! I think I am going over due and my Dr. will let me go 10 days overdue, ugh. I am not necessarily tired of being pregnant, although the aches and pains are getting tiresome, but I am more anxious to meet my little girl it is becoming overwhelming!!

Hey Suzi, I just read your post on engourgment. Freeze a wet newborn diaper and put that on them, then pump if you have one. My little sisters friend was so engourged that her milk would not even come out. The lactation nurse at the hospital told her to do it, she did and said the milk just flowed and flowed, it reduces the swelling so things can get moving. It brought her a ton of relief. I had a bit of engourgment but just took IB proffin for the pain and pumped and bit my bottom lip. I run a low grade fever the first week or so after I have my kids (not sure why but have with every baby) so Ice on my breasts was just NOT going to happen. Like I said, she said it helped a ton. Good luck!

Hey! How are you doing? How are things going?

littleone2008 - Sunday, 30 Mar
Congratulations mommy! I was reading your post in skin changes...I'm having some Really bad icthing on the belly, legs and arms...were kind of symptoms were you having. Dr says it's just PUPPS, but I'm thinking it's going hurt the baby

Hey, I missed your announcement - congratulations!!! I've been doing this for about 5 weeks and still haven't figured it out, but try massaging the boobies with a warm washcloth, then pump them and get that extra milk out of there!!! It hurts so bad sometimes I hate to hug people close. You have to pump that milk out - that's the only thing that helps me...I kind of tried the cabbage leaves, but it wasn't anything to write home about. And I heard it dries the nips out. My friend uses frozen bags of veggies. But pumping is what you need to do, if you ask me...Good luck!!!

The best thing for me when it came to ingorged breast was to take a hot shower and let the water run over your breasts for awhile and it helps to release some of the milk and it always made me feel a ton better.

Suzi
I know this sounds REALLY STRANGE but they say that putting cabbage leaves on engorged breasts relieves the pain. I have a friend who tried it and she said that it helped tremendously.
Congrats!

jeanette2908 - Sunday, 30 Mar
Well at least you tried. I'm not even going to bother trying. I bottlefed my son and he's perfectly healthy. I don't mean to sound selfish but I'm just ready to be out of pain, back to normal, and my mom has told me horror stories about breastfeeding. If your not going to breast feed you need to strap them girls down to stop the milk, they are going to hurt as long as milk is being produced.

jeanette2908 - Sunday, 30 Mar
Yeah, I remember the pain...... Its horrible. Not looking forward to that. I just can't wait to be back to normal, have energy, be on a schedule. Are you breastfeeding?

spidermansmama - Saturday, 29 Mar

my sister did that, just pumped and fed and then gave him formula at night, she did it for a year! I don't know that I could be that dedicated, I only stuck out nursing for 6 months with two out of three of my kids. One I went to 13 months but that is because she refused to take a bottle. I will see with this one, I am finding it so easy to let my 8 year old give him a bottle while I do the dishes or something. I prefer nursing at night though....I am way to lazy to get up and make a bottle. Were still really up in the air and are just going with the flow. I noticed my post partum depression was much worse with the one I nursed longest with. If I get it this time I think I will just go to formula again at 6 months. For now I nurse most of the time but if something needs to get done and my oldest is here to help I let her give him at least one bottle during the day and I give him formula if there is company because getting him to latch on it such a huge ordeal.

mrt2153 - Thursday, 27 Mar
Congratulations! I can't wait to see pictures!

momoffive - Thursday, 27 Mar
Oh ya, I almost forgot!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I can't wait to see pictures. I between you and your husband I am sure she's absolutly beautiful!!

momoffive - Thursday, 27 Mar
at 37 week she may take a few days to get that sucking/rooting reflex down. I know it's concidered term but my oldest had a harder time than the next two figuring out how to look for it. Make sure that you make her open her mouth good and wide and get a large mouthfull in before you let her start sucking. If you really want to nurse stick it out these first couple of weeks and it will pay off. If she does not get enough in her mouth you will get terribly sore nipples. My little guy has been having a hard time latching on this time. He's still just a little lazy and prefers the bottle but mommy is lazy and prefers NOT making the bottles :-) I've found that if I give him his pacifier first and get him sucking vigourously he latches on better. Also, you might want to pump a little first and get your milk to let down so she doesn't have to work as hard to get it to come out. And the more you put her up to nurse the more milk you will make, and try not to stress out about it because it can slow milk production, and last but not least, drink up! water is more important than ever now! You have to have lots of liquid to make lots of liquid. Hope I've helped some. I know these first couple of weeks can be trying. This is the fourth baby I've nursed and I find myself still getting frustraited. Adding the extra hormones to the mix doesn't help.

moniL - Wednesday, 26 Mar
Congrats!! I BF'd both of my daughters, its Ok to suppliment with formula if you need to. Dont feel like your doing the wrong thing with that.
If you have any specific Q's Im happy to help if I can:)
