Hi, I'm Christina...I'm 25 and due on July 8, 2008 with my first child. I have been wanting to have a child for as long as I can remember, but the timing was never right for us. On October 5, 2007, My husband and I finally decided it was right and we were going to start trying. A month later I tested positive! The doctor says by the size of the baby, we conceived on October 1st. Well that's impossible because we didn't start trying until the 5th so it must have been the very first try!! It was meant to be! Everything feels so right, and I could not imagine being any happier. We can not wait to welcome our new little one into our family.

Jan 23, 2007 - Well, I think the morning sickness has finally gone away. I still get sick sometimes when I'm brushing my teeth, but not in the middle of the day or at odd times anymore. I've felt the baby moving around a few times in the past couple of weeks, but I can't wait to feel a kick and be able to have my husband feel it too. I have a Dr.'s appointment on Friday (the 25th) and that's when he will be scheduling my anatomy ultrasound. I'm hoping it's like next week! But chances are it will be a little longer after that because I am only 16 weeks and I hear it's better results when you do it around 20 weeks. I want to know what it is sooooo bad so I can start shopping! I go through the baby section at every store we go to and pick out things that I would want to buy him-her, but we never end up getting anything because we just don't know yet. I have about 5 outfits picked out if it's a girl and a couple for a boy too. Just waiting for the Doc's word. I love shopping for babies, they are so much fun. I know as soon as we find out what it is I will be shopping for like a week straight! LOL

Jan 25 - I just got back from my Dr.s appointment. Doc says baby is doing great. I am measuring 22 cm and that means it's a healthy big baby. Heartbeat was at 153bpm and he scheduled me for my anatomy ultrasound in 2 weeks on Feb 7th!! i'm so excited, I can't wait to find out what our little one is!!!

Feb 20 - We had our 20 wk ultrasound today and found out we will be having a BABY GIRL! She is a healthy 11 ounces and heartbeat was at 155bpm. We are so happy to be welcoming Isabella Marianne into our home!!

Mar 12 - This morning I was laying in bed on my back and I felt my baby moving so I put my hand on my belly. I felt my baby girl moving around in there from the outside! I think she was doing flips in there it was the coolest thing. I have been feeling her from the inside for quite a while now, but this morning was the first time I was able to feel her with my hand. Needless to say, I was 30 minutes late to work because I couldn't bring myself to stop playing with her and get up for work! LOL

Hey~ Yeah, the spots are normal. Some pregnant women get brown spots on their skin in various places. It's from the hormonal changes in your body. They are very common around the mouth and on the face, but can appear anywhere. I wouldn't worry. They go away after birth. I just hate having it on my face!! Oh the joysof pregnancy!

Hey Sweetness, you have asked about how to recognise where the baby's head and where the butt is. On the website www.spinningbabies.com you can see professional comments on how to position your baby in your belly. My idea is vague, the technician showed it to my partner, and it has something to do with “feeling whats under your fingers and how to recognise what it is”. The downside of it is, that my partner got fully coached, me just watching. If somebody is teaching you to put your hands and fingers right to feel things in the belly, and guiding you through – then it actually seems not to be very difficult. I didn’t get this coaching, was just laying there and did not get much of the whole process. So, as I did not go through the coaching process, Im actually not the best person to tell how to do it. What I can do, is to describe what they were doing, and how my partner does it. Well, basically he starts touching my belly with “full” hands to see which part of the belly he feels the baby to be. If baby’s position is spine-to-spine (baby’s spine is parallel to yours, and baby is facing outside), its not possible to do for a non-professional (that’s what I think, at least we cannot do that). But very often the baby’s spine is easily felt. The spine is the “biggest” thing that you can feel, and you can tell the direction of it if you are touching (horizontal or vertical, or diagonal, whatsoever). Then, on one side of spine, the head is, and the other side, the butt is. The head is recognised by putting your fingers more firmly on the belly and moving them in a certain “back and forth” movements. This now gets difficult to describe, because I’m not able to do this myself, you have to be shown by a professional. When the babies head is between your fingers, it sort of “bounces” between your fingers. This was showed to my partner, they repeated it so many times that he found the right “feeling” of the head bouncing. Butt is more easy to recognise (not for me, I cannot do this), if he holds it with the same grip as he would be looking for the head, and then moving, the whole baby’s body would be moving, and you don’t get the bouncing sensation. I recognise the hands and legs by the “nature”of kicks – hands are less powerful kicks. Its very difficult to describe, especially by somebody like myself who only sees what’s going on, not actually “having the feeling” in my fingers…
