AWAITING BABY SOPHIA!

Hello,

My name is Tabatha and I am expecting my first child, a baby girl, with my husband, David. We are going to name the baby Sophia Annabelle and at this point, I just can't wait for her to get here!

To tell you a little about myself - I am an analyst and have the wonderful opportunity to work from home, which allows me to take a shorter maternity leave and get to be home with the baby! I live in South Florida with my husband who is a restaurant server and an undergraduate student. In addition, to my day job and the pregnancy, I am also a "jewelry lady" with Premier Designs Jewelry and am participating in a distance program to finish my MBA... so, I have been one busy girl the last 31 weeks. Did I mention I got married three months ago and moved 300 miles two months ago? Yeah, that too!

It is just so nice now that it is to the waiting game part of the pregnancy, and that my life has calmed down because I am SO exhausted!

As for my experiences with the pregnancy, I did not think I was pregnant at first! We were not planning it (but are so ecstatic now!), and I thought the extreme fatigue and nausea was just the beginning of an oncoming flu (even thought it was early July at this point).. finally, I took a test: two blue lines. Then, I took a second and third test for a total of four blue lines. A trip to the doctor confirmed I was indeed expecting. I knew it was a girl from the beginning, but we had that confirmed at 18 weeks.

It has not been an easy pregnancy. I was VERY sick for the first 4.5 months. I lost about 13 pounds. Finally, the doctor put me on some nausea meds which helped immensely. I have not gained a total of 6 or 7 pounds past my pre-pregnancy weight and it all seems to be belly.

Overall, the baby has done wonderfully through the whole pregnancy. We did have a scare when my QUAD test came back with a 1:84 chance of Down's (I am 22 so this was a definite cause for concern).. we had an ultrasound which showed one possible abnormality so decided after careful consideration to do the amniocentesis. The test came back all clear and since then the baby and myself have been doing wonderfully, besides the sore breasts, extreme fatigue, back pain, constipation, and lack of sleep.. but that is all to be expected!

My baby shower will be on January 12th, as my side of the family is very adamant about not buying anything "too early" as this apparently places a jinx on the pregnancy. I cannot wait for the shower so we can decorate the room and then just wait for her to get here!

My husband and I have crammed all of our classes into the month of January, so that will be exciting next month!

So, my due date is February 28th, but I have this intense feeling she is going to come nearer to my Dad's birthday on February 22nd.

Whew! So, that is all caught up on me.. more notes to come!

Today's Weight: 168 (+6 lb from pre-pregnancy)

Okay, so I am having major sleeping problems. My back is in so much pain, I am up almost the entire night. I also am suffering from terrible heart burn at night...! Everyone tells me "Oh, enjoy it now before the baby gets here.. relax and catch up on your sleep." HA! What sleep!?!

I just wish the time would come for the baby already.. I wish I could fast forward 8 weeks..

I think the only cure for today's pregnancy blues is some thick chocolate milk.. I need to send my husband a text to bring me some home! YUMMY!

DECEMBER 28th, 2007

Today's Weight: 168.5 (+6.5 lb from pre-pregnancy)

Today was my doctor appt that I am curently going to every 2 weeks. The doctor was running behind by an hour, so my lunch was post-poned (UGH). BUT, a very nice nuse gave me some apple wedges. I had unexpected blood work today to check my TSH levels (I am hypothyroid). OUCH!

Our little bunde of joy is doing wonderfully despite my lack luster weight gain. The doctor said as long as the baby is growin properly, I shouldn't be concerned and to enjoy it because I will be skinny after the baby! Sophia's heart rate was 147.

She is kickin a LOT today. My mom came over and painted the nursery and put up the border. Once we have everything in order, I will post some pictures.

Today's Weight: 168.5 (+6.5 lb from pre-pregnancy)

The baby shower is tomorrow and I am very excited because then I will be able to put everything in the baby's room and then Sunday is our ALL DAY childbirth class. I feel like after this weekend, I will feel ready for the baby!

I have a doctor appt on Monday which I am looking forward to because I have SO many questions!

On another note, I had the wierdest snack a few days ago - a tangerine, a pickle, and a glass of milk all at the same time! A few months ago, I used to have a pickle and a glass of milk every night before i went to sleep, but that adding the tangerine really exemplified to myself that I am VERY pregnant.

I also had a wierd dream last night.. that I woke up and someone had robbed my house while I was sleeping.. they had taken almost everything including my car..it was a very wierd and realistic dream, but only a dream thank goodness!

Today's Weight: 172 (+10 lb from pre-pregnancy)

I went to the doctor earlier this week and the doc said everything is going wonderfully! Baby's heartbeat was 154 which is good. I gained a couple pounds which is good, because my weight has been behind. The baby shower was last Saturday and we got SO much stuff; I couldn't believe it, there were about 50 or 60 women there... it was amazing..

My DH is really excited about the baby.. he cannot wait for her to get here either. He is a great person and will be a wonderful Daddy.

I saw this on another members page and I liked it so I have added it to mine as well:
