Friday, 11 April Go with what your instincts are telling you. Perhaps your baby will turn just in time. It is not unheard of. If you need a section then another doctor should be able to perform it should your doctor not be there. In the end you will have the same result, a beautiful baby to love and cherish. I wish you all the best and hopefully you get the birth you want. Selina21 -
Friday, 11 April I'm getting induced cause my baby is already ready to come out. And my due date is the 19th anyway. And no, you can dilate and not go into labor for awhile still. Just cause you start to dilate doesn't mean you're going into labor. I'm already 3cm and my doctor said that's perfect for being induced snowwhite5thbabe -
Wednesday, 9 April I hadn't heard of the chemical surge at the beginning of labor that helps the baby breathe (I guess you learn something new every day!),.BUT babies who are c-sectioned at 38 weeks breathe just fine...

Wednesday, 9 April My son was breeched also and I only have one question for you. What if your baby doesn't turn and you go into active labor? I was told that if this happens then they would have had to do an emergency c-section, which means you won't be awake for the birth of your baby. I don't want to scare you at all. I only wanted to let you know how it went for me. My son was born at 39 weeks. Not because the doctor was going on vacation but because I was dilating and my doctor was worried that I would go into labor. My son did not turn on his own, his little bum was stuck in the birth canal like he had fallen in the toilet. LOL We even tried to turn him manually but to no avail. I agree with the other ladies that you should trust your instincts but I also wanted you to know why the doctor might be trying to get you to have your baby before he leaves. I really don't think it has anything to do with his vacation and more to do with the safety of you and your baby. I hope this helped. first-time-mommy-to-b -
Wednesday, 9 April I think you should go with your gut instinct. If you were not jumping for joy at the thought of scheduling your baby's birth and had to think about it, then maybe your body knows baby is not quite ready. I think either decision would be great, BUT always go with your gut...does it really matter if your Dr. comes in to deliver or if another one does?? Don't let the Dr. put pressure on you...if you are not ready then you are not ready, your baby still has time to turn and your body will let you know for sure when you are ready! Good Luck with your decision! mamahannah -
Wednesday, 9 April Although your baby should be perfect if he were to come out right now, you should do whatever you feel comfortable with. If you don't think that you little one is ready, then don't let the doctor tell you otherwise. Mothers know best. . . most of the time.
Best of luck to you snowwhite5thbabe -

Tuesday, 18 Mar Hi there!!! Hope you're feeling well!
To find her birth story, go to her VIP page, then at the top there is a tab that will say vixplusone's children. Then when it goes to that page, there is a link for 'has own page - click here'. That's where her birth story is posted!!! It's inspiring! NikyGyrl -
Saturday, 15 Mar Thanks for encouraging me! It's hard to discuss this topic with just anyone because I find people I'm close with just tell me to 'get the epidural' to try to almost fix the problem. I know they only want to give me advice, but it's nice to discuss other options with people.
I just read the birth story from one of my fellow 'weekers' and she did it completely natural. She just concentrated on deep breaths in and out and would only make it until the count of 3 before the contraction was over, so then she just concentrated on the fact it only took 3 breaths to end the pain. If you're interested in reading her story, her VIP name is vixplusone.
Thanks again for giving me another opinion! The best to you... God Bless! xox

Friday, 7 Mar I totally know what yuo mean about enjoying pregnancy. Ive been super excited throughout the last 7 months, which I thought was normal, but now I see that a lot of women go back and forth in their moods. my cousin, who is due 2 weeks before me cant wait to push her baby out. shes always talking about going in early and asking for a c-section.
I feel really good about the way I look, I mean better than I have felt in my whole life and I would not mind if I went a couple weeks past my due date. as long as my girl stays healthy. shaynemarie -

Thursday, 21 Feb protein...i eat lots of beans! rice and beans, beans in salads, tortillas, bean burgers, chickpea cutlets, beans in soup. i also do a lot of tofu; lots of stir fry tofu and veggies, tofu curries and the occasional tofu/fruit shake. i snack on hummus, almonds and use almond milk for cereal, baking, etc. when i bake, i substitute 1/3 of the flour with soy flour. works every time. sometimes i eat the meat substitutes which have protein, iron and b12. bbq seitan is REALLY good. good luck with your veggie pregnancy! are you planning to raise your child vegetarian? jamuna -
