Hi Everyone!
This will be our third girl. We have two girls 9 and 12, so it has been a while since I did the whole pregnancy thing. It was a total shock to us, as I was on bc, but here we are and it is all very exciting. Happy to see that there are so many new gadgets to choose from. Easy to fill days while looking at everything!
Updates:
May 7- Had another scan (starting to have fun with all of my photos) and still I have placenta previa. I go back in another four weeks to see if it has moved. Other than that, I am now weighing 130.2 pounds which is about 30 more than when I started. She is weighing 2 pounds 9 ounces. I feel I am breathing like an elderly overweight person, my heart is pounding a lot harder and stairs and I are no longer companions. Had another glucose test and hoping that the phone does not ring...
March 19- Had another scan today to see if my placenta moved at all. No such luck. But it was soooo great to see our little girl again. I counted fingers and they are all there. Her heartbeat is 151 and she is 12 ounces. We have another appointment in 7 weeks to see if anything has changed. I don't mind if it hasn't changed, but it is annoying not knowing. Our summer plans are all in limbo at the moment. Such is life. We are over the moon to have a healthy bouncing baby girl. I need to do some shopping as we are off this weekend on our lengthy three country trip and none of my shorts fit at all. And although my belly is huge, seems as though my behind and thighs are not keen on being left behind, so they are packing on the weight just the same. Yikes. hehe. Overall feeling brilliant and couldn't be happier.
March 12- Got great results today. Tested negative for gestational diabetes (though I will have to test again at 28 weeks). I can't wait for my appointment next week to see if my placenta has evacuated the area it is not desired in and to see our little girl again. We leave for Singapore, Thailand and Bali next weekend and I am a bit apprehensive about the 50 plus hours of flying. And no, we are not flying first class. I am really looking pregnant, and loving it as I get so much attention. Being pregnant and feeling great is just brilliant. Sleep, no not getting any. Pee, yes, getting plenty. I have put on 25% of my weight and am now up to almost 125. However I believe that my body has gained what it needed to. I ate about the same prior to pregnancy and I couldn't gain an ounce. But our little girlie needs some cushion going on.
This little girl is quite active in her little studio flat. Lots of kicking and punching. At this point I laugh, though I reckon in a few months I might be threatening to kick back. Haha, she just kicked again as I wrote that. Cheeky little girl.
February 22- Writing in pink for a good reason... It's a GIRL! I know I already have two girls, but I love girls and am very excited. I am starting to feel a lot better as well. Losing the morning sickness but gaining aches and charlie horses, ouch! I feel her kicking a lot now which is so exciting. We found out I have complete placenta previa, so hopefully it will go away, otherwise she will not be a Leo and our travel plans will be tossed in the bin. I also seem to have a lot of sugar in my urine, and as I had gestational diabetes with #2, this does not surprise me. I am also showing big time! On our holiday, everyone could tell I was prego and thought I was at least 5 months. Nope, just eating a lot I guess.
January
29- update: Well, I was sooo certain that by week 13 all of my horrible
symptoms (constant nausea, excessive belching, wind, headaches, etc.)
would be gone. BUTTTT!!!! They are still here. Still, right here and in
no rush to go anywhere anytime soon. Which I find very frustrating.
Actually my husband probably finds it more frustrating. UGh! Our little
bean looks like an alien and my husband is convinced it is missing an
arm. hehe.
Hope that all mommies to be are feeling better!!!
December
21- Ultrasound showed a little bean, he/she was so cute! All is well,
but still burping like a man, or like a pub full of men. My family just
laugh it off, but we are going to visit in-laws tomorrow for a week and
I am so worried that I am going to be belching the whole week through.
That ought to impress the whole lot.

43.8 hours ago Hi! I did have placenta previa, but it was marginal and it never moved. I had no complications with it at all, no bleeding or anything. I had a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks and was never limited to bedrest. The only limitation we had was no sex, which stunk at the time, but in the grand scheme of things is not the worst thing ever I guess! Good luck and enjoy those midnight parties with the baby!! tetera -
45.2 hours ago Good luck! (Just make sure the meal isn't TOO big or you may get sick for other reasons!) BamaBaby -
Thursday, 15 May Hi I am also anemic and take a iron pill evryday. Not sure if your OB told you this but mine said if i take it at night with a class of OJ and then eat some bread or something then it wont make you feel so yuck!!!! Plus you can sleep it off if you do take it at night. I have never had any problems. Take care! tetera -
Thursday, 15 May I take a prenatal vitamin every day that has extra iron since I used to be anemic so have done it as a precaution. I always used to get sick with that or taking SlowFe back before I was pregnant so I just wait until the evening when I've had a decent sized meal with a good amount of carbs and take it immediately after that. I have a really weak stomach in general but this seems to work really well for me...hope you can try it and it will work well for you, too! Stacey617 -
Tuesday, 13 May Hey I saw your message about the frequency of the dr appointments...I looked ahead a few weeks and week 32 on here says some dr.'s don't starting seeing you twice a month until that week...it probably depends on your dr. nazdaran -
Monday, 12 May Thank you very much for the great info. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Friday, 9 May Appt went well yesterday. She sent me for an u/s today and the perinatologist said my cervix is still thick and closed so he thinks that I can come off bedrest, but is going to discuss it with my ob. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!! JennNichols -

Wednesday, 30 April Hi. I just wanted to tell you, I have a Mac computer, so when I hit accept on the friends network request, I don't think it works. I just didn't want you to think I was rude! When I am at my husbands office, I should be able to approve it. Hope you are doing well!

Tuesday, 29 April Well, good. haha. If we can do nothing else, at least we can laugh at ourselves! Just one rule: if anyone else of the "non pregnant" race laughs..it's over for them! To many hormones and to much weight to be thrown around..I think it's safer if they stay away! haha. Anyway, glad you could laugh...hope things are GREAT! missyny -
Monday, 28 April Tamian, I felt the SAME way, overwhelmed when I started looking at baby stuff. It actually took me a few times, ONLINE, not even in store to put a list together of what I wanted. Then, I had to deal with friends critiquing where I was choosing to shop/register and what I chose. I have to just ignore it. Anyway, I just went by this list in this book I have, "Great Expectations" It just says the essentials needed for bringing home a newborn. I finally went to BabiesRUs and left also. I went to another one two days later and liked it better. I figure I will get the essentials now, and if I feel I'm missing anything after the baby, my husband will run out and get it then. Babies need so much, I didn't realize it either. Well, hang in there, and good luck! :) fisheagle74 -
Monday, 28 April Are you having a baby shower? I had one with my first pg and we waited until after the shower to buy stuff... turns out we didn't have to buy anything except the baby monitor (we bought the one with the camera.;.. it is awesome!) It can be overwhelming but don't stress!!! Enjoy! tetera -
Sunday, 27 April Wow what a small world! That's crazy that you are also married to a half English/half Scottish Brit! I think we have to remember that the family won't even care about the babies name at the most a few weeks after they are born (or at least I hope so!) tetera -
Saturday, 26 April My side of the family loves the baby's name, but my husband's side has generally been a bit more critical. I'm from the US and my husband is from the UK (half his family are Scottish, the other half are English) and I guess they think the name is too "American" or some of them have said we made it up or it's a girl's name, neither of which are true. None of the Americans have said anything like that! But then when we were thinking of names that, I guess must be chiefly British, I got some kind of horrified reactions from my family, so I guess there's no pleasing everyone! lynnerbugs1 -
Saturday, 26 April OMG it is sooo not just you!! When people ask me what we are naming her I don't want to tell them b/c of the reaction we got from EVERY family member. My husband and I love the name, all of our kids have unusual names. The last person we told her name said "um ok well she is your kid" and then turned away and giggled!!!!! I couldn't believe it! So honestly I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours...LOL We ARE naming her Kallyn you say it Cal-Lynn and I call her Kalli. Is it really that bad??? carolynjh -
Saturday, 26 April You chose a gorgeous name! And I love the meaning behind it, you are great at picking creative, individualistic, and meaningful names. Parents are always hard to please because they tend to want traditional names. They will be fine as soon as they meet her and she winds up being just like her name :) carolynjh -
Saturday, 26 April The name thing is difficult isn't it? There are so many girls in our family, it's hard enough to get original without using a piece of someone's name! And then everyone has their wonderful opinion about why they hate that name b/c they know someone with that name or whatever reason. I say FORGET THEM! We decide on our name, make sure we both love it, and then commit that we will keep it no matter what anyone says, but it's still hard b/c you want people closest to you to like it. What name did you decide on for your little girl? My 2 yr old is Kiley Elise and we will name #2 Addison Olivia-and we're sticking to it!
