About us and our baby...
We've been married since June 2nd of 2006. And on October 25th, my wonderful hubby and I found out we were pregnant! I had been testing with the dipping strips for about 4 days and kept getting really faint lines... my mom got sick of it all and got me a digital one. I could hardly sleep that night and when it was time to get up and pee, i was shaking!!
The test immediately showed pregnant and I've been in a dream-like state ever since!!
We found out our baby is a boy on February 13th and we were soooooooooooooo HAPPY!!! We thought all along that he was a girl because people kept telling me that I was carrying high, that I had too much morning sickness for it to be a boy, and my hubby and I had had multiple dreams even when we were just dating that we would have a little girl. So we had named the baby Isabella Anna...
Even the night before the ultrasound I had a dream that the baby was born and it was a girl.. so it was a HUGE surprise but we were both very very happy! My hubby is a drummer so we are praying that he will be born with some kind of musical gift :)
I'm also going to nursing school to later pursue a career in midwifery.. so this baby has come at the perfect time! I'm passionate about life and birth and pregnancy (although I know I will NOT miss being pregnant!) It has been an amazing experience so far and although I have had a lot of rough times, it has been a great ride.
I love my little boy more and more each day and I cannot wait to hold him in my arms and smell his hair.. and stare at him all day :) I've dreamt of being a mother since I was 3.. and I'm so excited that I'm finally one to a very healthy and sweet little guy :)

Now you have ME crying! LOL! That is just beautiful...my mother wrote a letter to me on my 21st birthday welcoming me to womanhood/sisterhood, and that meant so much to me. I can only imagine a letter welcoming you into world meant just as much. I need to do the same! You are blessed, and will be a wonderul mother yourself!

Just remember one thing, you're in control...so you maybe ok with it in the beginning and change your mind later. And the person with the camera needs to respect that and understand that.

Hi there
I just wanted to let you know that I was not aware of the cameras or anything for that matter other then me and my midwife during my labour. I mean I was self conscious cause I had a lot of "silent deadly gas"..lol but my midwife was nice enough to tell me it was a skunk and at the time I believed her..hahaha.
But to be honest, I have the most amazing pictures of my son being born, and I was not paying attention to it, too much pain...lol I think as long as they are respectful and give you space and are not in your face you will be fine....Hayden was my first one that photographed birthed then we moved to video, don't know what we are going to do this time around, depends who is around...jsut not wanting to miss those moments. Because I did not have that for my first born 16 years ago.

I hear you on the laundry. I have been washing baby clothes and it is so funny. For one load I can wash like 100 items compared to adult clothes and such. I may never get it all washed. :)

Yeah, the cramps freaked me out, too!!! I was home alone as hubby was working, and I wasn't being too level headed! Decided to check and make sure there was nothing there, and then laid down with a big glass of ice cold water (it's really hot here in SE United States). That worked magic and I felt better after about 10 minutes!

yeahI have just finished it. It was a really good book- some positive stories about birth which helped to allay some of my fears! I also liked her reccomendations of how to have as natural a birth as possible in a hospital setting (I don't have much choice about where it will be... but now have some ideas of how to make it as positive and calm an experience as possible!!) Did you read it?

Yea, I work two jobs actually. I Nanny which i am ending soon and also have a work from home job that i will be continuing through her birth. My mom was like well what will you do all day... Man I could think of a million things i could do for over a month at home lol... Cleaning for one haha... Thanks for the comment though:) Hope you have a good rest of your pregnancy as well, sorry you are stuck at work until june, it seems like money is an issue for everyone right now:(

hehe, sounds like we are pretty much in the same boat, mine feels bad and wishes he could take some of the burden, I just have to say there is nothing you can do, and that just makes me cranky, hehe. Time isn't going by fast enough, though we won't be saying that when we look at the little ones coming sooner than we think (so I keep mentally prepping myself).. =)

I too have a king bed and use many pillows, I catch my BF trying to steal a few and I"m like no thats the one for my belly, um no thats the one for under this arm, no thats the one for...... lol he gets mad for a second and then just laughs at me, as soon as I get up in the morning he grabs all my pillows to put around himself like he's pregnant...its cute.
