About us and our baby...

We've been married since June 2nd of 2006. And on October 25th, my wonderful hubby and I found out we were pregnant! I had been testing with the dipping strips for about 4 days and kept getting really faint lines... my mom got sick of it all and got me a digital one. I could hardly sleep that night and when it was time to get up and pee, i was shaking!!

The test immediately showed pregnant and I've been in a dream-like state ever since!!

We found out our baby is a boy on February 13th and we were soooooooooooooo HAPPY!!! We thought all along that he was a girl because people kept telling me that I was carrying high, that I had too much morning sickness for it to be a boy, and my hubby and I had had multiple dreams even when we were just dating that we would have a little girl. So we had named the baby Isabella Anna...

Even the night before the ultrasound I had a dream that the baby was born and it was a girl.. so it was a HUGE surprise but we were both very very happy! My hubby is a drummer so we are praying that he will be born with some kind of musical gift :)

I'm also going to nursing school to later pursue a career in midwifery.. so this baby has come at the perfect time! I'm passionate about life and birth and pregnancy (although I know I will NOT miss being pregnant!) It has been an amazing experience so far and although I have had a lot of rough times, it has been a great ride.

I love my little boy more and more each day and I cannot wait to hold him in my arms and smell his hair.. and stare at him all day :) I've dreamt of being a mother since I was 3.. and I'm so excited that I'm finally one to a very healthy and sweet little guy :)

I saw that you were reading it. Just not sure if I would have time to read it with two babies and every weekend we have our older teenager s with us. my 16 year old and his 14 year old.

To behonest all my babies have been posterior.
I can honestly say that with every birth I have I get better at handling it. Does not mean it takes my pain away.

One tip you may want to keep in mind is the pressure point in your lower back your hubby can apply pressure too. It REALLY helps you deal with the pain and relax you!!! My girlfriend is a birth partner in her spare time and she taught me and hubby, needless to say. Every labour it has been applied.

Amazing how we can relax through such unbearable pain....at least try!

Honestly though if I would have known about the book before hand I would have read it. The latest book I read that helped me with Chase's labour was Birthing from Within.

I have to send it as an email attachment to send the whole 52 paage book. I have a stubborn cervix so this is the one I have been using to dialate your cervix.
The Three Yin Crossing point is on the inner side of
the lower leg, four of the mother’s finger-widths
above her inner anklebone. The acupressure point is
next to the back of the shinbone. The Three Yin Crossing points are usually very sore, so the tenderness of the points confirms that you are working on the right spot.
Sit down and bend your right leg over your left, so
that you can reach your lower leg with your hand.
Locate the point with your right thumb and then use your thumb or knuckle to apply pressure on the acupressure point. Repeatedly press firmly and release, for 1 minute,
and then switch and treat
point on your left leg.

do this every 2 hours

Thank you so much. I've checked out that site (spinning babies). The midwife gave me 2 things I can try. That web site gives a lot more. Although right now...I still have to wait for my appt. to find out for sure. That's the part thar really sucks... I'm just anxious and hoping he turns around again. Your almost there....Good Luck on a wonderful delivery..

How are you doing??? any signs of labor yet?

Berrymama - Friday, 13 June
Congratulations on your baby. I was hoping for a water birth in the hosital but it is not offered here. Which stinks! So that's why I am considering doing a birthing pool at home. We will see. Thanks so much for your comments and I pray you and great blessings for your family. Great pic by the way... I love it.

LOL, I took the classes and my boyfriend fell asleep and snored during one of the visualisations! it was so embarrassing for me but the teacher was pleased that it worked on him! If you have the CD that came in the book it doesnt teach you the breathing, but in the book, starting page 123 it teaches you how to breath, if you practice that while listening to the CD you'll be fine - as long as you stop falling asleep! a

But no, the whole point is for you to relax, especially to the CD, so you're doing good if you're snoozing through it! My teacher told me that you can subconsciously pick things from the CD up even when you sleep, so you're learning already!

I was going to have a waterbirth at the hospital too, until i decided to have a homebirth. Í would have really have liked to birth in the water, but who knows, i still have time to rent a pool - hopefully! or maybe the sooner she comes the better!

Let me know how you get on with the Hypno!

thrilledfirsttimemomma! - Tuesday, 10 June
I saw that you were reading the Hypnobirthing book, how are you finding it all? I have read the book, I listen to the CDs and I am practising my breathing - hope it all works out! I feel that I might be a bit screwed having a home birth with no chance of pain relief if I cannot successfully Hypnobirth, but on the other hand I am very confident in it! Dont worry so much about reading the whole book, practising your breathing and relaxation is more important then reading about the benefits and theory of Hypnobirthing, although it is a worthwhile read and will make you feel better! I'm looking forward to hearing about your birth experience, baby dust to ya!

christy114 - Tuesday, 10 June

I've been getting those BH contractions all weekend! They have been a little painful. Everytime I have one, my bf wants me to call my doctor!!

CCQ - Monday, 9 June
Maybe it's your body getting ready for labor. I just know I could do without all the bathroom breaks.

CCQ - Monday, 9 June
I am the exact opposite. I have been thirsty day and night. I feel like nothing comes close to quenching it. LOL

yari - Monday, 9 June
not that I remember, prob just a lil sore. I think it was a take it easy one not a crazy one lol... I was lucky I think on the no tears and cuts etc, if I get any this go round def gonna wait it out.

ckelly - Friday, 6 June
Ha! Nice to know I'm not the only one neurotic ergh, organized enough to have a birth plan and a little card for the bassinet saying "No Pacifier, breastfeeding, etc"!!! I also am foregoing the HepB vaccine at birth and using an alternative schedule - I don't talk about any of this kind of stuff with too many people because they think I'm weird enough as it is... Oh, and I also plan to not return to work and homeschool! Just nice to see someone else with the same "crazy" ideas as myself! Good luck for the next few weeks...

*Sarah* - Friday, 6 June
Thanks for your comment on my nursery - just need the baby now!!

Rachel918 - Friday, 6 June
Lol thanks!!! I will try and do some relaxing Iam not anxious at all actually... but i am going to try the shower and then lay in the bath lol. The pain is getting bad so we will see.
