September 20th. Two days before my wedding!! And I thought the nausea was from nerves!!

Well.. it's been more than 6 hours since I've gone walking... and I'm still here!

We went and got a few groceries, so we were walking around Meijer for a bit. My back hurts so bad... Kamil was trying to convince me to get one of those motorized cart things. The greeter even asked me if I wanted one!! hahah - that tells you how bad my back hurts.. I was limping!

I wish I had an explosive diaper to tend to...

I walked so much today though, I thought I was going to die... The pressure I felt was unreal. I thought she was just gonna fall out! And I was having some bad contractions (at least that's what they felt like), a lot worse than what I have had. I had to stop and squeeze Kamil's hand everytime it happened. They took my breath away. My upper body feels great. It's my lower body that is killing me!

Meh.. Maybe she'll surpise me and I'll go into labor while I'm sleeping.. That'd be wonderful =] Then I wouldn't have to worry about trying to feed my rather imposing inlaws that invited themselves up to our tiny townhouse on Memorial Day! (MY STINKIN DUE DATE, AT THAT! GRR!)

Kamil is in bed, and wants me to fall asleep with him.. bleh. lol. I'm not tired, but I might as well try and sleep.. I think we're going grocery shopping in the morning. yay for watermelon!

Hospitals sell pumps? I'm gonna have to look into that. Are manual pumps hard to use? It just seems that it'd be too much work to manually pump your milk out, while you've got all this other stuff to do. But who knows.

Are you engourged at all? Or just in the beginning when you were getting frustrated??

Ohhh, I can't wait for her to be born!! I don't really have anybody to talk "belly" with anymore.. hahah. I wanna talk baby now!!

I'm convinced they'll have to induce me now though. I'm due tomorrow.. and even though I have all the signs, I just have this feeling she'll be late.. You were so lucky to go early!

YEAH....about the "twin" thing. Um, not so keen on that concept anymore. I wouldn't be upset if it happened, but I'm no longer wishing for it. One of our best friends has twins...precious...but precious to visit. Can you imagine with your breastfeeding schedule to have to feed TWO babies??!?!!?!?

Hey beautiful mama-
I love your birth story. That is so cute how you calmy told Nathan that your water had broken. Did you watch the video of your birth back yet?!? I wish we had done that. I don't remember most of it because of the treatment for pre-eclampsia all the problems and the c-section etc. I guess it's good that i don't rememeber much lol. I am still very sad that I didn't get to have a vaginal birth. I was very calm and was doing great without any pain medication or epidural and I would have liked to go a lot longer...but once they broke my water and upped the Pitocin the nurse said she really wanted me to get it so that I wouldn't have to suffer. I was really happy to hear him crying because I wasn't sure that he would be alive once they got him out of my belly because the doctors and nurses were freaking out panicked with his heartrate dropping. My epi wasn't working so I was pretty much knocked out and they brought him to my head for a minute. Then LATE at night John brought the baby to me and I got to hold him for only a couple minutes. It wasn't until the NEXT day that I was able to hold him. It just didn't seem real. I didn't feel like I had him...but rather that this baby just showed up. BUT...I can't dwell on it. I have my little man and that is what matters:)

Yes...I did post a birth story. I just was very brief. I didn't want to scare all the preggo's that haven't had their babies yet. I will probably post a longer one later and jsut leave out some info lol.

I loved your birth story!! I must admit.. I cried!

I believe the hospital that I'm delivering at as lactation consultants there for me whenever I need them - which is a good thing, cuz I'm sure I will! I know they'll bring one in once she's born, so she can teach me how to breast feed correctly, and I'm sure they make house visits, too.

And the maternity support group thing at the clinic I go to has an RN, Dietician, and a Social Worker - I think either all 3 or 2 of them are lactatcion consultants as well, and I know they make house calls.

I guess I'm gonna have to get a pump. I want an Avent one, since those are the bottles that I've got, but an electric one is I think about $150 :( A manual one is only 50, but it's manual! I'll have to talk to hubby, and see what we can do right now. Although my older sister did tell me that when she couldn't afford one, she just expressed her milk herself with her hand. So I could always do that, and save some money.

I know! What is so cool is that we were so excited to be moms and now that we are we are finding it is even so much beter than we thought! Isn't it just wonderful? How are things going for you guys?

My recovery is VERY slow. I had a lot of "issues" but the good thing is that I am doing better and that baby is well! Before I know it I'll be back on my feet. He was worth everything I went through:)

Wow! I really loved your birth story! Thank you for sharing that with all of us. I'm expecting my first so I'm trying to read as many birth stories (that are detailed) as I can before he comes. I guess it just helps hearing that every mommy made it okay with baby :) Congratulations on your son!!!

Oh wow.. I really wouldn't like that! My little sister calls me chubby.. my step-mom calls me "Big One"... It just makes me self concious all over again!

I actually just read your last blog and left a comment on it =] I can't WAIT for that feeling. People don't seem to think that I actually do realize that having a child will change your life. They keep telling me, along with their nagging questions and comments, how much it'll change my life, and I'm not ready for it, blah blah blah. GRRR. I KNOW THIS INFORMATION! THANKS FOR TELLING ME IN A ROUND ABOUT WAY THAT I'M RETARTED!

I'll probably have a bad day or 5 with breast feeding... It's the only thing I want to do, and will probably get just as discouraged if she's fussy and won't latch on right and can't get any milk. BUT! I'm gonna try my hardest, and just kind of act like it's something that just has to be done - BONES told me that's how she views breast feeding, and it makes it a lot easier for her. But then again, she's had 4 kids now!

How is breast feeding going for you though? Besides that one little setback? Is it easy? Super time consuming? I heard babies that are breast fed get hungry faster than formula fed cuz it's "human" milk, not cows milk..?

Ohhh one of these days I'll go into labor. It was discouraging to me when the OB said "see you next week" hah. And I'm getting so many phone calls and emails and IMs during the day... and I'm so sick of it! I swear I'm not anwering my cell phone anymore. A girl that I used to be friends with called last night after everything happened - the first thing out of her mouth was "are you sure you're not having TWINS?!" :( She said she seen my belly pick on here and "Your belly is so HUGE! I thought for sure it was twins!" HAHAHAH (sarcastic if you hadn't caught that lol.) Does she think she's funny?!

Yeah, I wish we could go to the park and play with our dogs. Maybe we'll do that tomorrow. I had my membranes stripped on Tuesday and I was really hoping that it would put me in labor but no such luck. Thanks for the advice though.. sometimes I think he wants the baby to come later. But I will certainly go with the walking. Thanks again.. I need all the luck that I can get!

thanks.. I'm hoping that it works. Jesse keeps giving me grief over trying to get labor to come, and its kind of discouraging. At this point, I'll almost try anything. How long did you walk for when you went? We walked our block today and it took my wobbly butt 30 mintues to walk it.

So...I had my playlist that is on my blog playing while being induced, all through labor and delivery up until the c-section and played it a lot in the hospital. I kept playing the Blue October song and just became overwhelmed with emotion. I thought of you and baby Caleb as well!

Yea, she had her baby, and left me behind!! BAH! And trust me, I'm yelling 'I HATE YOU GUYS!!' every day I see more and more "crossing over"!

Sex.. ah! What is that again?? LOL. I think, since it's 12:23am here right now, I may trudge up and down the stairs.. I was trying to convince Kamil to take me to Walmart so we could just walk around. But he won't.. He's watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.. hahhah.

Maybe I can turn on the ol' sex machine later though.. lmao. See where that gets me!! A girl on here said she and hubby did the duty, and when he went to pee afterward, he says "honey? I think you lost your mucus plug on me.." LOL HOW SICK?! ahahah. It's gross, but so funny!!

oh youre welcome.. I thought that pic was so cute b/c you were both sleeping.. :) Still no real action going on here. I thought my water broke today but I guess not. Got my membranes stripped yesterday and I've dialated 1cm since then. Gonna try the sex thing again and see if that helps out some. I'm hoping that contractions will start tonight or in the morning. Wish me luck!

Sorry I haven't posted... I was busy having a baby!

Ethan Gabriel Valdez is here :) My water broke Sunday night, after leaking all day... I thought i was wet but I was outside at a picnic and I thought i was just really gross and sweaty. I was having contractions all day but they didn't hurt, so imagine my shock when I went to lay down and got a gush of water...whoops.

So I got checked into the hospital at around 1100pm Sunday night and Ethan was born at 0651 on 5/19/08. 5 lbs 14 oz and 18 inches long so bigger then we thought he was going to be but still, he's so little and cute! He's is the love of my life, I'll psot pictures as soon as I can.
