Well my name is Rachael, Im 21 yrs old. Never in my wildest dream did I think I was gonna be a mom at such a young age. Not because theres anything wrong with it but just because my life is so all over the place. Im in college and for a while this was my one and ONLY focus. However our son Jaylen is a miracle and a simbol of hope and inspiration. I was on the IUD and I was diagnosed with fibroids in my uterus and my boyfriend Tommy had low sperm count. It was suppost to be impossible to get pregnant, I was told I would need a lot of help. I didnt want kids at this time of my life so it didnt matter. On April 2008 I found out I was pregnant. Overwelmed by the situation we decided to keep our baby. 
My pregnancy was very normal but at 35weeks I decided to scheduled an appointment with the perinatologist(I work in gynecology)and at 35weeks pregnant Jaylen was diagnosed with transposition of the great artheries when I was 35weeks pregnant and we found out that he would need open heart surgery right after delivery. In a way I felt aweful and in a way very lucky that we found out on time. I did as much research as possible and we started our search for the best heart surgent in California. It all came down to childrens hospital or sedars. We decided to go with childrens hospital. I scheduled a C~section and 10 mins after delivery my son turned blue as expected. He was then transferred to childrens hospital on a saturday morning and had open heart surgery by Monday morning. Jaylen's surgery was performed by Dr.Vaughn Starnes and Dr.Cynthia Barrington who are just amazing people, they saved my son's life just like they have many. Jay made a remarkable recovery. By wednesday noon they closed up his chest and by thrusday morning all tubes came off.He has been through so much at his short life and he keeps on going, he is a fighter and the strongest person I know. I believe that Jay has made it this long because he wants to live. A doctor can only do so much and then its up to the patient and god. Tommy and I are commited to making everyday a special day for Jay, we love him more that anything and we tell him so everyday.

Hey ladies...so I am scared. My man and I have just barely getting by financially. We make good money but we have a mortgage, two cars, and everything else that goes with it. Well, today Collin got let go! I am literally freaking out!! He got let go because evidently he is not passionate about his job and it shows. He was going to school for nursing and LOVED it, then he quit once we found out we were having a baby. Ever since then he was working for a construction company making decent money. Here's the catcher...his boss who fired him is MY DAD! He wants whats best for us but I dont know how he expects us to pull through this if we can't possibly afford Collin going back to school! Ahhh I am angry, upset, scared...so many emotions. I honestly dont know what we're going to do! I know most people now-a-days will just say 'join the club' but I've never been in this situation and I'm truely scared. How do you ladies go to school AND have a baby and....make it work??

Ladies, thank you for the advice and comments on the teeth subject of Jade. Lol, to Cheekybee, thank you for your advice, lol, and even if i'm in South Africa, we really do have dental peds here, hehehe :-) Anyway, girls, i just can't imagine a 22 month old with FILLINGs and CROWNS? I mean it's milk teeth, don't they like fall out after 3 or so years?? And no, i can assure you guys there's no genetic problems with teeth in my family and my teeth is fine, i have no fillings and no crowns, but BD has got like two fillings. Guys, i do brush her teeth (under heavy fighting and yelling from her), but i just cannot believe that she might need fillings or crowns at this age, it's just sooo sad! Please, the rest of you, go to my poll about Jade's teeth and please tell me if that would really be neccessary. I mean i'm going to take her to a dentist Paedi, but God forbid the poor kid to get adult procedures performed on her teeth! What happend to baby teeth that will fall out before 6 or something????

Hi ladiez! Thanks for comments on my new blog, it's really good to be back! Ye, i'll take my time with the new guy mamies, no worries, i learned my lesson with my MR Y encounter, hehe, so i made sure that i was 100% willing to get to know the new guy. His name is Dirk, and he's just a sweety. I forgot to mention that he lives about an hour away from me at the moment, with his kids (and ex) living in the same town. He lives in SOuth AFrica now, obviously because of his children that he has with his SA ex wife here. He left on Friday to visit the Netherlands for two weeks and i really miss his presence. Anyway, ladies, why do i get an itchy feeling now, that i will be havin numerous blogs on his kids and ex wife(most probably vent blogs?), Geez, i hope not, to give u guys a flavor of what she's like: He took out a restraining order against her because she came to put up a show at his front gate AND wait for it---- wait for it----- she stopped his ex girlfriend on the road, ye, she blocked off her car, took pictures of her and shouted, "You are sleeping with my husband!" Lol, you understand now why i am expecting fireworks? The kids knows that i exist, he showed them pics of me, but they havent told their mom yet, as (according to him), they know what not to say in front of her. Anyway, ladiez, watch the blog space, i just can't get rid of this Silence-before-the-storm feeling. Then, just a quick question? JAde woke up the other night and cried for two hours, she told me her foot hurts, and she kept pointing to it and steering my hand to it? So now i'm wondering, is she injured? Because she walks perfectly fine and she doesn't seem to experience pain when i fiddle or massage it? What i did notice that night was that the area under her foot, just below the toes (i think the ball of the foot?) where kinda swollen? I really donn't know, should i take her to the doc for a scan?? Hey ladies I am so happy my cousin just had a baby girl tonight November 4, 2009 and she named her Mikayla Esmeralda Maes. She weighed a whopping 9 lbs. 2 oz and was in labor a total of 24 hours and pushed for 2 hours straight. I thank god my labor was nothing like that. Wheww....

Just got off the phone with my aunt in IND and my dad's funeral will be on the 14th, it seems so far away, but its the weekend after this coming one, so idk maybe not too far, but I have to take off and decide if I will drive or fly. If I am going alone I will just fly, but I dont wanna leave Cameron and Jhia with someone for more than a day or 2, I'm just not comfortable leaving them with someone for that long, but the twins could just stay with their father since he is still down here. Idk yet. If I take the kids, then I know I will drive. Money has been a little tight lately so Idk yet. I think I am going to have to compare gas prices with flight price. No hotel, thankfully because my aunt is letting me stay with her while I am down there.
Its just a lot, Thank God for frequent flyer miles. And once again thank you ladies for being there for me throughout it all.

I got my membranes stripped at noon today and it's almost 4pm and NOTHING! But I'm still hopeful it will happen soon. She did the sweep twice and said she expected to see me before the weekend, lets hope she's right!! Baby dust and labor dust to all who need it! XOXO
