My husband and I have been together for 12 years, and married for 8 years. We had a lot of time with it just being the two of us - and our pets. I went to school, earned my elementary teaching degree, and then taught elementary school for several years - primarily kindergarten. We decided to try for our first child in early 2003, but it took nearly 2 years to conceive. I was getting worried, but I was so involved in work that I hardly had time to think about it. Then in my busiest and most difficult school year of all, I finally got pregnant. It wasn't the best timing, but it really saved me! I was SO stressed with my job, that my pregnancy helped to take my mind off of work and on to the future. I was due with my daughter about 2 weeks after the school year ended, which would have worked out perfectly. However, she came 2 weeks early, and I missed the last 3 days of that year. (Thankfully I was prepared for that, and had all the important business in school wrapped up!) I'm a stay-at-home mom now, and not sure when I'll go back to work.

Our daughter's name is Melanie and she was born on May 25, 2005. I can't believe she'll be 3 this year!!! She is a bright and beautiful little girl! I honestly prayed for a little girl - even though a boy would be just as wonderful. My mother passed away when I was only 14, so I always craved having a mother-daughter realtionship I feel like I missed out on. So my little girl is a true blessing to me! See some photos of Melanie. I love to show her off! I really felt like our family was completed once she came along, but earlier this year I began to feel like she might be lonely and need a sibling. This time we only had to try for 4 months and I got pregnant!

My due date is August 6, 2008 - and of course the first thing everyone says is "Boy, it's gonna be a hot summer for you." Is anyone else tired of hearing this? Anyways, this pregnancy has been quite a bit more difficult for me. I had a ton of nausea my first trimester, and it still creeps up from time to time. My breasts are still sore, and I keep getting colds. I have a nasty sinus infection right now. I really feel like this will be my last child, so I want to savor this pregnancy - but it's been hard! Right now I'm counting down the weeks until my ultrasound to see what the baby is. I really don't care this time around. A girl would be easier for us now, but a boy would be so exciting too. I just want to start shopping!!!

See how my baby is doing

I don't think it matters how you lie to count kicks - I think they just say that because that is usually a good way to help people feel kicks. I think any healthy kick or movement counts! I feel this baby move all the time and don't have a lot of time for lying down either! Good luck!!

I m 5'3" as well and i got mine from motherhood maternity and they were long at first but they shrink in length everytime i wash and dry them. There actually kind of high waters on me now. But they would work great if i just wash and dryed them the first time and hung them out to dry every other time. Good Luck!

In response to your post....Motherhood Maternity does in fact make jeans for us short people!!! I am 5'2" and their Petite Size Jeans are PERFECT in length!!! They come in every size (S, M, L, XL)

I didn't even think of it that way..I was sad when the doctor told me the due date because my grandpa almost died on that date..but we're all thankful he didn't. I can look at the day as a happy day instead of a tragedy. I had a high school friend and his birthday was 9/11.

I'm due in September, and I'm tired of hear the same thing! "It's gonna be a LONG and HOT summer for you.." I'm happy that you have a daughter and now going to have a son!! I'm the other way around..I had my son on Christmas Eve 2005, and now I'm having a girl on September 11th!!

Oh my goodness i live in the midwest too and my baby is the one that woke me up. I was having a dream about an earthquake then i woke up and everything was shaking. It was so weird and scary.

I think it would be fine to have another shower. Each baby should get it's own shower, even if it is only a diaper party. Also I don't think anyone is going to mind that you just had one for your daughter, they are all going to be too happy about your little boy that is soon to come. :)

 GORGEOUS

Not sure if your stares are from men or women, but I had a really difficult time seeing preggos after my miscarriage. I'm quite moody now, but I always make myself feel better when I assume the worst from a starer/gawker's situation. "Must be staring cuz she's jealous of my lovely lady lumps... her are so tiny!" or "That old man's staring at my big beauty of a belly (my BBB) because he's wishing he hadn't ran out on his gf when she was young and pregnant." I'm sure none of them are like this and are just Arsh-holes, but it makes me take it easier on them!

Oh gosh I know about the pain in the leg and Sciatic nerve pain. If I lay or sit a certain way and try to get up, I sometimes need help because of the pain. My bf thinks I am crazy! But my mother had the same pains when she was pregnant so she knows how it is. I would suggest not to sleep on that side or sit with too much weight on it, my doc said to stretch more often and go on more walks, and its helped A LOT. Hope that helps you.

Thank you for your comment on my poll.. your answer was the most helpful. I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and I will talk to them.. I am already 4 months postpartum and pregnant with my second.. if it hurts right now to have sex I can only imagine how bad it will feel to give birth again..lol!

I just went to the doctor for allergies last week and she said plain claritin or zyertec (without the D) was fine.
