Dean and his baby sister Ella

IT IS A GIRL!!!

Born: December 20, 2007

Weight: 7.14 pds

Height: 20.5 inches

January 10, 2008 - Well my baby girl is 3 weeks old now and can't imagine life without her. She is so precious. Although I could use some more sleep, but I know it will happen with time. My lil girl is only eating 2oz every 2 hours....wish she would double that and double the time..lol Every time I finish a feeding it is almost time to start again. She went to the doctors on Monday and she weighs 8.5 pds. The umblical cord fell off last night...yeah! I was always paranoid that the darn thing was catching on her clothing...even though I was told that there is no feeling. I am trying to get into a routine between her feedings. I feel overwhelmed with all the things that have to be done in the house and taking caring of a newborn. Alhtough I know my lil Ella comes first....once she is asleep I run myself ragged trying to get evrything done. Anybody else out there feeling the same way??

Feb 29, 2008 - Wow I can't believe Ella is already 2 months old!! Things are getting easier. Ella has made the big move to her crib last week and I must say that is was harder for me than her. She did not care. Now I have been putting her in the crib sleepy and off to sleep she goes...my dream baby. I think I learned from my 11 year old son that rocking them to sleep is great but then they expect it every night..not a good thing. She is not sleeping all night but sleeps about 6hrs and eats then lays back down for about another 4 hours. Not bad...can't really complain. She loves her exosaucer and watches her Einstein video in it. She is holding her head up really well. I must say having a little girl is so different than having a boy. I love my son and could not even imagine having a girl but it is wonderful.

March 20, 2008 - Ella is offically 3 months old now and she doing so well. She absolutely loves her jumperoo and the last week she figured out how to jump in it and is a little mad woman in it. Waiting for a giggle though..she still has not done that, but her smile makes you melt. This is her first Easter and can't wait to celebrate it with her. She has been sleeping through the entire night for about a week now which I love, love, love!! We have had her on a routine since the night we brough her home. Last bottle upstairs in our room with the lights out around 8pm.....put her in her crib when she finishes her bottle around 9pm and she is out for the night..till about 8am. She is such a good baby...almost makes me want to have more.....almost.

April 27th - Wow..how time flies! Ella recently turned 4 months old and I must say having Ella has been the most fantastic decision I think I have ever made. Don't get me worng..I love my son and we are so very close, but I had him when I was 25 and even though he was planned right down to the month..I found myself more stressed and uptight...worrying about everything and making sure everything was perfect right down to a clean house. I promised myself I would not do that again and for the most part I havent which in return has given me a very well natured baby. She barely ever cries and she sleeps about 11 hours at night and sometimes more. I have learned to put things aside and spend time with her and let me tell you it is well worth it. For all u younger moms out there...take it from me....spend time with your babies..they are only young for such a small period of our lifetime.

I have slowly started feeding Ella solids. The doctor gave me the ok at her 4 month check up. I am in no hurry..we are just playing around with the idea....she may get a tablespoon per setting. I decided to try and make her baby food..which should be interesting....I have to say I am not the best cook anyways...lol

I thought this was the coolest picture.....my husband is in the middle, our son is to the right...stroller..then me holding Ella to the left....

Dean and Ella on Deans four wheeler..he thought she needed to sit on it.....too cute

June 9 2008 - Ella is 5 1/2 months now and I have never seen a more happier baby! She is adorable. Ella sleeps 11-12 hours a night and naps several times during the day and just a joy when she is awake. She has mastered sitting and enjoys the independence siting up by herself gave her. I dont think she will ever roll. She just has no desire. She is enjoying tummy time more though so there is hope. I just look at her everyday and it is hard to believe that she came from my husband and I..truly a miracle.

July 7th - Well not long after the last entry..Ella started rolling...crazy girl refuses to stay on stomach now that she knows she can roll. I love to see her face everytime she rolls. Well her 6th month check up she was 20 pds and 27 inches long. My lil chunk. Ella still has no teeth and not seeing that she will get any...anytime soon..but that is ok..no rush.

Ella- 6 months old - July 4th weekend

Hey tammy - I think Sarah and I may try to get together tomorrow for lunch. Would you be able to make it? is Ella still under the weather?

lisareader - Tuesday, 6 May
Hey - I just messaged Sarah, too - when do you ladies want to have another play date? :-)

swimmerbelly - Friday, 2 May
We just took Emilyn to the doctor (yet another cold), and she was 17 lbs. She will be 5 months on May 11. She's in the 95th percentile for weight and height. How about Ella?

busybeemom - Friday, 2 May
I'm back from the hosp. I have to wait for the heart doc to read the results before I know anything.

I have the same bedding as you and I love it! Where did you get this wall hanging? It would match my daughters bedroom perfect!

lisalulu - Wednesday, 30 April
Oh, Hugs...no Tae Bo today. I was bad. Went to my parents & had & gigantic roast beef sandwich instead...I am so sore from yesterday's work out too! Shows ya how outta shape I am! How did you do? I hope you had better motivation than me... Tomorrow I am gonna make up for it!

lisalulu - Monday, 28 April
It's raining here today...I think I am going to try to do a Tae Bo video...Ya know w/ that Billy Blanks guy? I need to motivate. I ate like a horse this weekend!

I don't have the baby toothpaste but I am going to look the next time I go to Target. Has any of Ella's teeth come in yet?

Picture of Ella on Dean's back is gorgeous.

Hugs, I am doing terrible too...this weekend has been a lazy foodfest! I walked friday-just 2 miles though. Sat. & Sun. were the most unmotivated days. However, I did go shopping on Saturday. Does that count as exercise? : P

megan15425 - Monday, 28 April
i REALLY appreciate that! I will keep you posted and prob. have more questions lol thx so much!

mariap - Sunday, 27 April
It went okay. At 9:00 she'd been sleeping for 4 1/2 hours and she was still in her clothes from the day, so I finally decided to get her into her pjs. I changed her and she woke up, so I did the rest of her normal nighttime routine. It took me a little over a half hour to get her back down, but then she slept until 2:30 and then went back down til 6:15, which is an hour earlier than her usualy waking time. Not too bad, really! She must have needed her sleep!

Hi there! I was reading your post from earlier today about you night routine. You said you brush Ella's gums. Did you start that right away or is it something you recently started? Just wondering. I try to rub Gracie's gums when she is having a hard time with the teething and she does not like it one bit. By the way, I love the pic of Dean with Ella on his back. What cute kids!!!

lisalulu - Friday, 25 April
Okay, I was suppose to walk at least 3 miles today...I only walked 2 : ( You can yell at me if you want. BUT I did turn down an ice cream cone SO that may make up for my missing miles : )

mariap - Thursday, 24 April
Hi. Yea, breastfeeding babies need to feed more often because breastmilk is digested more quickly than formula. Lily's around 14.5 pounds ( I held her on our bathroom scale..) I'm not sure how long she is now. We see her doctor next Wednesday. Your little one is just beautiful!
How have you been?

LisaReader - Wednesday, 23 April
Thanks Tammy! Hey, did you get the pics I sent of the playdate? I think I emailed them on Sunday but they were huge files so I was skeptical about them going through! Just wanted to check :-)

shallon - Monday, 21 April
Hi-i just saw your comment from saturday-that is funny cause I just found a couple more and got them ready to get into the mailbox! Thanks again!!

mariap - Sunday, 20 April
Thanks for your reply! I have a routine, but it is pretty simple. I bring her into our room (she's still in her bassinet), change her diaper, put her in her sleep sack, nurse her while reading her a story, and then she usually falls asleep. It's just not as long. She goes between 5 and 8 hours. Usually in the 6 or 7 range... She is breast fed, so perhaps it's just the way it goes...

BODOBaby - Friday, 18 April
Wow, that's impressive how far you are walking! I'm assuming you take Ella with you correct? How long does it take you? Also, do you have to take food for her or does she sleep the entire way???

mariap - Thursday, 17 April
I read earlier today that your baby sleeps 12 hours at night. I was wondering if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding? Lily was sleeping 7 hours at a time but has been waking up more often.... I was just wondering if you were lucky or if you had a trick to getting your little one to sleep so well... :)

LisaReader - Wednesday, 16 April
Yep, I go some good ones! I'll send 'em along. Great to meet u too! i totally stayed at the mall and bought a bunch of stuff (bad mommy!). Maybe we can do the zoo next time?

sarah2880 - Monday, 14 April
yes we did it ourselves! Because I am cheap too :)the cabinets are stock unfinished cabinets from Lowes and I sanded them and stained and finished them myself! THe countertop came precut from home depot! That was tricky, to get that counter cut ourselves, but we managed. Its not perfect, but its a lot better than it was!!! Thanks for the compliment!
