Hello! My name is Taryn and I am currently pregnant with my second child, but my fourth pregnancy. I miscarried at 8-9 weeks in May of 2000. We named it Morgan because we don't know if it was a boy or girl. I lost my second at 23 wks in Dec. of 2000 and named him Thomas Hunter. The dr. isn't entirely sure why that happened. It could've been because of premature labor, or an incompetent cervix, or an infection I didn't even know about! Well, three years later I got pregnant again and had a wildly successful pregnancy and now have my little Ethan- who is now three and a half. Since Ethan's pregnancy was perfect- they expect this one to be also.

About this pregnancy...

We weren't planning on gettting pregnant until this next June. But I truly wanted to be surprised! I obsessed over Ethan's conception and took the fun out of it. I'm a little obsessive to start with, so I was completely shocked to discover I am pregnant again. I stopped tracking my cycles (due to obsession) but still knew when was safe and when I should start. I can't believe God pulled this off. I think a surprise pregnancy is the best gift ever (when ready for kids).

How we found out...

My period was late, but it frequently is because I'm not on the pill. My boobs hurt- but that's normal just before my period. But, sometimes I test just to put my mind at ease. So after my sister's birthday dinner, I grabbed some tests and headed home. My husband worked late that night, but was home when I got there. So while he got our son ready for bed, I went and took the test. He didn't know I was late or was testing. I was absolutely floored when I got a +. Still can't believe it. But, I couldn't tell him until our little one was in bed- so I went for a drive to figure all this out- you know, how do you pay for two in daycare, where will we put the baby in a two bedroom house? I got this all figured out in 20 or so minutes- I'm a problem solver. So, when I got home, I made him turn off the TV because I had something to tell him. He's not the kind of guy to jump around the room, or shout for joy. But he was surprised- and a little doubtful. He wanted me to retest in the morning and of course it was +. I know he's excited and loves being a daddy and having Ethan. Pregnancy is scary for him because of our past and babies may frighten him because Ethan was a colicky train wreck. But he loves his boy- I couldn't hand make a better daddy.

This is the last one...

So were having fun with it. Of course, I can't keep a secret so we told everyone right away. Besides, after loosing two, I know that I want everyone to have time to love the little guy in case something happens. We told our family in different ways. With my husband's mom and father in law, we had a dinner of baby keishes, baby carrots, and a salad of baby greens. She still didn't get it, so I fashioned crescent rolls to look like diapers and cooked them during dinner. Then, she got it. If not, I'm sure the Big Brother Brownies we had for dessert would've worked. She nearly cried- but couldn't rejoice too much because Ethan doesn't know and won't know for a long time. For his dad, we asked him how many grandchildren he had and if he would like one more. He's a no frills type a guy. My mom and I shop all the time so I led her to the maternity section absent mindedly- like. She wondered if I knew where I was, but asked me if I had something to tell her- and I did! My sister has been nagging me for years for another child, so I gave her a + pregnancy test as a belated bday gift (I found out I was pregnant on her birthday). My niece is 15 and once asked my if I was preggers. So I texted her "I'm preggers!" For my dad, I wore a maternity outfit stuffed to look like nine months. This was the most fun I've ever had sharing my news.

Jan. 25, 2008- We saw our sweet baby jumping around today on the sonogram. We are clearly having a boy!!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

Hey, thanks for your comment, I like the way you put it about what they might be doing in heaven. That's a really nice image! My friends are great people, they both have other children who are absolute sweerthearts so I know their new additions will be lovely too. I really wish them all the very best and I know that what I really don't want is for them to feel they can't be around me or feel awkward. I want to be a part of their lives and their childrens, even if it's bitter-sweet. x

thank you so much for your message. I am sorry for your loss and your message really made me feel like I am not alone. We are so happy to be pregers again, but it is tainted with fear.
I am in the military wich does not allow me a lot of say in what doctor I see, but i am going to do everything I can to get the best care. I had a high risk doc during my delivery and she has given me her word that she will take care of me this time. I am going to do the same as you and insist on a weekly US. I am holing off on calling her though since I am only about 4-5 wks. Well, thanks again for your inspiration and God bless.

hi, i had that pain, same place, with my first pregnancy. i went to the doctor and they told me it was a nerve being stretched. you just have to be careful when bending over and reaching b/c it triggers that tearing pain. i'm so sorry you have it....it sucked for me. this pregnancy i haven't gotten it b/c my lil girl is smaller and i'm carrying her different. my son was huge and breech so he just stretched me a lot. good luck.

thanks for the comment you left the other day. Sometimes I need someone to bring me back down to earth instead of "Feel sorry for Stacy" World.

How are you feeling? I am getting really excited!!!! Sam and Marie had there baby last night. Eva Grace, 7lbs 3oz. I think she looks just like Briar only with RED hair. She is just so stinkin cute!

I go to the Dr one week from today for blood work. I am getting nervous like the meds didn't work this time again. Trying to stay positive...but it is so hard! :) I guess all we can do is wait and see and keep trying right! Still no positive on my tests but the CM is throwing me off. Anyways I just needed to vent to someone. Thanks you helped a great deal! :0) Love ya!

Hey thanks for the comment on my poll. I'ts less the cyst that I'm worried about and more that we don't have a complete anatomy scan done yet. The nuchal and some sort of blood test that I had a few weeks back, but I honestly forget the name, came back clear--we were just waiting to get a complete anatomy scan done to be sure there were no other markers. Where did you get your sonogram done? Our bill will be between 150 and 250 for the whole thing if insurance won't cover it.

Yep I live in B.C. I love it here, it's so beautiful but everyone is so judgmental of my situation. I am for sure going to finish school. 100% high school and go o university. People at my school don't say mean things to my face but they give me looks and I know that they are talking behind my back. Since I am due in July I am finishing the school year here in B.C. Then after school my aunt and I are going to stay in Arizona until I deliver. That's where the adoptive family lives. They already have a 4 year adoptive son. Then hopefully I can go back to a normal life. Except I will be living in New York with my aunt and uncle. They have 2 kids ages 4 and 2.

It has been weird feeling the baby move. The baby is always up against my ribs lol. The sex of the baby is a girl. Hope you are doing well!

I guess it's just my philosophical side that makes me think that way. Thank you for your encouraging words - they mean a lot. Here's hoping that I can allow THIS child to be a healthy, beautiful, full-term baby.

Yes I love florida, people called me "cold blooded" I am always chilly, I even wear light jackets on days that are 70 degrees. The county we live in, seminole, is very much a family oriented community, A schools and not too far from the east coast or downtown orlando. DH and I always say we will never leave seminole county. And when there are hurricanes we are lucky, we are like right in the center of FL so we dont get much of the impact winds or rain, every couple of years we may get a tornado warning, but I have lived here all my life and never been in a tornado. Sure there are bad parts, like some parts of sanford but for the most part its wonderful.

Thank you, I definately see what your talking about, he doesnt want to get his hopes up. But its not the end of the world, we are young and strong, and together Im sure we can get through anything. I have heard of the city, Im not positive where it is though, we live in the heart of seminole county, which is just north east of orlando.
