Wednesday, 20 Feb

Here is my story...I first got pregnant in 2006 but wasn `t really planning for motherhood. But God had different plans for me. We got pregnant right away and I was just getting used to the idea of being a mother when I found out I was having twins on Mother `s Day!!! What a shock. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would have twins. Overall I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy (except for a ton of BHC and lots of U/S as they shared a placenta). In the end I was induced at 37 weeks and gave birth to identical girls. They did really well and we were all sent home after only 5 days in the hospital. They are now 16 months old.

And now.... I am pregnant again with twins!!!! What are the odds??? Seriously, I would like to know. We thought, oh, we could handle one more, but again God had different plans. Once again we got pregnant right away and I began to suspect very early on that there was two again (I could feel my uterus already at 8 weeks and oh I was starving again). Well here is to lots of prayer for another healthy pregnancy and to keeping my sanity (I will have 4 under 2).

Wednesday, 5 Mar

12 w 5d today! I had my nuchal scan today and everything was fine! Their heart rates were both 157 and they were moving around a bunch. Hopefully everything continues to go well!

Thursday, 20 Mar

So I had my first OB/GYN appt Monday and everything is fine. I will have an U/S in one month (and hopefully find out the sex), see my doc again, then follow up in one more month and then every two weeks to check for premature labour. That `s it!

WOW - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! 2 days before my birthday! What are their names? Did you have any trouble with labor and delivery?

How are you feeling? How are your toddlers adjusting?

I was at Dr.'s yesterday - gained 5 lbs. in 2 weeks - ouch! Although at this point, I really don't care! Starting to feel uncomfortable a lot and really tired. It's becoming a day-by-day as to how I'm feeling, but I guess that's pretty normal.

Hope you have a great weekend - post pictures soon!!!!

Are you still hanging in there?

TWINSX2 - Thursday, 28 August
I know, it has seemed like a lifetime and now that the date is getting close it seems that time is flying by. My babes are breech one day, transverse another , head down the next- they are little acrobats!
My MIL will stay until she feels I have it under control! She usually stays 5-6 weeks. She says she is going to do everything for us so I can rest and have time with the new babes. We will see though!
I am glad you are doing well and enjoying your time with the girls as well. Take care

mommy2bmay08 - Tuesday, 26 August
Hey congrats on the birth or your babies! Ihad mine naturally too on Aug 14th. Anyway, all is well here and I hope it is for you too - then again you are a pro at 2 babies already : )

TWINSX2 - Tuesday, 26 August
I am so glad things are going smoothly for you! Sounds like an ideal birth experience(except the epidural) and you seem to have recovered nicely!!! I am so happy for you!

We have been painting and moving andSunday can not get here soon enough! I am ready to have all this behind me so I can get ready for d day. I am having to have ironinjections weekly, and they make me feel like a truck has hit me:( YUCK!!!!But oh well, I only have to have 5 more. My MIL is planning to come around OCT 24th, which will put me at the beginning of my 37th week, and they said if all went well they wanted to induce at 37 wks- so only 8 more weeks!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!
Take care and enjoy those precious little ones- all 4 of them.

charlotte74 - Monday, 25 August
Thanks for the good luck wishes! i am starting to get a little nervous now about the birth! hopefully the induction will happen straight away and that it they are born quickly!

I thought youi had them as you hadn't been on... i saw the pictures are they look soooooo cute! i bet your girls are loving the new dolls to play with that actually move and cry!!!

I don't want to stay in hospital too long i would be so happier at home!

I haven't talked to you for awhile - are you a Mom to 4 yet?

I just posted a blog (my first ever, I'm so technologically inept!) about my fun weekend.

Keep me posted - I'm anxious to hear the exciting news!

thaynes54 - Sunday, 24 August
Congrats to you! Nice size babies. You will have to let me know how it is taking care of two sets of twins. I know what it is like to take care of four kids now, but my oldest is 7 so he does a lot for himself.

olga83 - Sunday, 24 August
wow congratulations! Did twins run in your or your husband family?

My grandmother is a twin and I heard I have a good chance having twins too. I am pregnant again and going to my first doctor appointment on Sep 15th and will find out 1 or 2 and if everything is fine :) Congratulations to you! Wow really what are the odds??????!!!!

TWINSX2 - Friday, 22 August
I'm curious!!!! I hope you not being on for two days means something good!
keep me posted!!!!

charlotte74 - Thursday, 21 August
That is still good weights mine were 5lb4 and 5lb5 at 36 weeks!

When is your next appointment? and do you think they will do it there and then?

I'm ok my back touch wood seems to be ok at the moment! i have still having some great braxton hicks and some of them have been pretty painful! not sure if i will last until Tuesday!!!! My mum is coming home today from her holiday she can't relax and is so scared that she is going to miss the birth! i feel really guilty and did try to talk her out of it!

How are you Braxton's?

My wee wake up calls seems to be getting better i was only up 2 times but boy it hurt when i went! does that happen to you?

thaynes54 - Thursday, 21 August
I'm doing okay. Not really sleeping much. Just a lot to deal with. The kids seem to be easier to take care of than dealing with all the stress with my dad still in the hospital. He still has not had heart surgery. He is getting really depressed and sometimes feels he will never be healthy enough to have the surgery. Only thing we can do is keep praying nothing else goes wrong before his surgery. They are saying maybe by Monday. Still waiting to hear from the surgeon today.

TWINSX2 - Thursday, 21 August
Hey, had my GTT test today and YAYAYAY I passed. However, my hemoglobin was extremely low, so I now have to have weekly iron injections. As if I am not in that office enough! Oh well, maybe I will have a better outlook on the next 10 weeks! At least maybe a little boost in the energy level!
How are you? Still hanging in there, or have they scheduled your induction?
Both of my babes are breech at the moment, so praying they turn and soon! the doc said he would give them a while before we even consider a section. The mid wife was only going to give me two weeks and then schedule a section for 36 weeks- just to be safe! I immediately asked for the Doc and told him that it was imperative that we do everything possible to avoid a section( he goes to the same church as us and is VERY familiar with my kids) He agreed whole heartedly!

Take CAe and keep me updated.

mommy2bmay08 - Wednesday, 20 August
Hey, Everyone is doing great, the girls are amazing! I will have it all posted up later today. I just posted a short bit in the 38 week page about their weights etc. Just wondering if you have had yours yet too?
Talk soon,
Kristin

TWINSX2 - Wednesday, 20 August
That is the way it was for me, I had to be induced because the baby girl had only gained 3 oz over three weeks! Sounds like their doing well, hope they let you hang in there for at least 1 more week- since you said you want to go tp 38 wks.
Keep me posted!!!

ErikaS - Wednesday, 20 August

TWINSX2 - Wednesday, 20 August
My DH's insurance agreed to cover elective sterilization, after I found out I was expecting again!!LOL- I suppose they figure it is cheaper than deliveries ( especialy at our pace- one or two a year!)
My sister got the copper IUD( the non-hormonal)- she and I both have had some issues( ie getting pregnant)while on the pill, so the non-hormonal IUD was our only TEMP option that differed significantly from the hormones in BCpills.

I can not believe th you are still preggo! I figured as miserable as you were, t would hve happened already. I agree though, I want to go on my own, andcarry them as long as they are growing and healthy. Now come 40 weeks I may feel differently!HAHAHAHA

Glad you are feeling better though! Let me know how things go after the scan!

charlotte74 - Tuesday, 19 August
I would rather go into labour on my own as when you are induced you have to stay at the hospital! i am not sure if these little monsters will come before my induction.... they have been quite all day and now i am getting my pains back and it feels like i have a hand trying to get out!!!

All this heatburn could mean that you are going to have to have 2 very hairy twins as they say the more heartburn the hairy your babies! Freya had loads of hair when she was born on her head and on her back but i didn't suffer with heatburn at all!

You have your scan tomorrow will be intresting to see how big your babies are?let me know how you get on!

charlotte74 - Tuesday, 19 August
I wish these babies would stop giving me false hope i really thought they were coming last night but nope still here and all gone quiet AGAIN! their movements have slowed down now!

Itchy boobs..... ow could be your milk coming in?

Thank you for the advice its always best to ask someone who has been there see it and got the t shirt! i think i will do what you did feed them at the same time thats if both boobs produce the same amount of milk!

We are due to complete tomorrow on our new home..... i can't wait i will get my lounge back as it is full of wooden flooring for our new house, Tony is going to spend Wednesday to Monday night at the house pulling up carpets and start decorating we choose the design yesterday for the nursery so i can't wait to see that when its finished!

How is your sugar level now?

x

charlotte74 - Sunday, 17 August
She finally had her babies yesterday a boy and a girl she didn't know what she was having and she had them through IVF how lovely is that...... us next!

I have been havin lots of tightness down below and period pains today they have been lasting for about 30 secs and coming every 5-10 minutes! I hope they come this week! towards the end of the week would be good as my parents are away at the moment!

Glad you had a good night last night i think i was up 3 times would be nice to get up just the once!!!

I can't believe they have not given you a date i would be pulling my hair out if i was you!!!

Quick question how did you feed your girls when they were born did you feed them at the same time or feed them seperatly i have read two books on twins and they say different things!!

xxxxx

TWINSX2 - Sunday, 17 August
Boy does that sound sooooooo familiar. This go round though, I KNOW that I am done. It's funny how things work, I thought I wanted to be done after the twins, and would have had a tubal if I had had a section, but that did not happen and insurance would nor cover a vasectomy.I was shocked and overwhelmed when it turned out God had bigger plans, but there is a part of me that has been excited from the beginning. This time however I just KNOW we are done.(vasectomy scheduled in Sept):D
Hope all goes well, and you get a bit of a break from the BHCs over the next few days so you actually have some energy for l&d!!!

M.M.Masi - Sunday, 17 August
I have the Medela Pump in Style too - my friend bought it and she never was able to produce enough milk so she gave it to me. The thing with that one is that it doesn't help increase milk supply, it just extracts the milk. I was looking for something stronger to help me produce more milk. I've only pumped twice, i got it yesterday and she told me not to pump at night just throughout the day. I'm tandem feeding and the pillow is the best thing in the world. I wouldn't be able to do it without it.
