Wednesday, 20 Feb

Here is my story...I first got pregnant in 2006 but wasn `t really planning for motherhood. But God had different plans for me. We got pregnant right away and I was just getting used to the idea of being a mother when I found out I was having twins on Mother `s Day!!! What a shock. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would have twins. Overall I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy (except for a ton of BHC and lots of U/S as they shared a placenta). In the end I was induced at 37 weeks and gave birth to identical girls. They did really well and we were all sent home after only 5 days in the hospital. They are now 16 months old.

And now.... I am pregnant again with twins!!!! What are the odds??? Seriously, I would like to know. We thought, oh, we could handle one more, but again God had different plans. Once again we got pregnant right away and I began to suspect very early on that there was two again (I could feel my uterus already at 8 weeks and oh I was starving again). Well here is to lots of prayer for another healthy pregnancy and to keeping my sanity (I will have 4 under 2).

Wednesday, 5 Mar

12 w 5d today! I had my nuchal scan today and everything was fine! Their heart rates were both 157 and they were moving around a bunch. Hopefully everything continues to go well!

Thursday, 20 Mar

So I had my first OB/GYN appt Monday and everything is fine. I will have an U/S in one month (and hopefully find out the sex), see my doc again, then follow up in one more month and then every two weeks to check for premature labour. That `s it!

TWINSX2 - Sunday, 8 June
Well, we have our days as well, when no one wants to sleep! I figure as long as they are in their beds, happy, and safe, they get a break from me and I get a much needed break from them!LOL!!!!!
It is a wonderful thing to have someone take care of you for a change isn't it?! I love when we are with family that we do not see on a daily basis, my kids think its great to have someone besides MOM and mom agrees!!
Take care.

TWINSX2 - Saturday, 7 June
Hi, glad you guys are enjoying your holidays!! We have a pretty good routine for the number of kids and ages, I guess. The twins and the 20 mo go down for the night no later than 7pm and sleep thru until 7-7:45am. the older two are down by 8pm and up about the same as the rest. The twins are back down for short nap by 9:30am. After lunch they all go down for naps ( the 4yr usually doesn't sleep, she looks at books etc)
and they are down usually for 2-3 hrs. So I suppose I am blessed that they all cooperate most of the time!!!
How about your girls? arehey starting to take shorter naps?My 19mo is starting to fight nap time a little, but nothing serious yet, Thank goodness!
Take care, kepp relaxing and enjoying your holidays.

Jeez! I can't believe your "luck"! haha! Your girls are so cute! Do you know if you are having girls again? There is a lady at our church and she is pregnant with triplets and her little girl will be turning one when the triplets arrive! YIKES! I'm pretty sure the triplets were unplanned, but I am afriad to ask, you can tell that her and her husband are very FEARFUL of what's about to come! 4 babies under 1! I don't know how you guys do it! I hope you are all healthy! Good luck!

Thanks for the great information. There is a lactation specialist for multiples in my area, I think I'll try her out. I didn't have any problems with my daughter latching on or breastfeeding her but I know two will be very different. 9 more wks to go. :)

jordan82 - Wednesday, 4 June
WOW two sets of twins!!! Thats crazy and really cool at the same time. Thats my boyfriends biggest fear is having another set of multiples. We've decided we would like one more but just in case we are going to wait till these guys are in school before we do that. Thats our plans anyways but who knows what the creator has instore for us.

Your girls are absolutely beautiful.

Good luck with this pregnancy!!!

ambrielles mommy - Wednesday, 4 June
Hey I was reading your story WOW!! What's the sex of the twins this time around?? Your girls are beautiful!!!

charlotte74 - Wednesday, 4 June
So you still don't know what sex your other twin is.... how exciting tho... do you have anymore scans to find out? Glad everything is ok tho and that they are cooking nicely.... lately when my twins have been having a move i am sure i have felt a heel or elbow? i don't remember feeling it this early with my daughter... maybe its becuase i am carrying 2 and they don't have much space?

Have a great holiday and enjoy.....

x

1busymamma - Wednesday, 4 June
lol, yes they are very different! Identical, how cool. They are adorable!! Hope you are feeling ok. Take care

M.M.Masi - Wednesday, 4 June
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm gonna try as much as I can to breastfeed. This is the pillow that I found that makes most sence. What do you think? http://thenursingpillowcompany.com/NA800.html

TWINSX2 - Wednesday, 4 June
Will you not have any more scans? I have one at every visit from 16 wks on, for size differentials. Maybe thats because there was a significant difference with my last twins?... Anyways, I am glad they are head down and I will pray they stay that way!!! I am hoping for the same, I think a section would be a nightmare, with my brood at home! Take care! How are the girls? thay didn't get what you had did they?

1busymamma - Tuesday, 3 June
All my family lives a half hour to an hour away but yes I do have some friends nearby. Except everybody works so we'll see. How are you feeling??

charlotte74 - Tuesday, 3 June
I was able to walk better until yesterday when i put a magazine away and my back went again! been to the doctors today and he has signed me off for a month..... which is good he says that all pregnant women should be at home resting, he is lovely my doctor!

I'm glad you got rid of your cold..... that doesn't help when you are pregnant!

So you are now a lady of leisure who has no motivation to do anything..... snap all i want to do at the moment is lay in bed which is really naughty!

You never know after your hols you may feel better but you do have your hands full with your girls!

TWINSX2 - Tuesday, 3 June
I am glad you are feeling better!
I have been looking at my scans from my Us with my first and all of the scans on my "known" boys and this little one to be and I believe the first tech just wasn't as experienced as the current one. On this scan there is an obvious "Whole Package", not just the penis as was seen on the scan of my first pregnancy. I bet your boy is truly a boy!!!!
I know what you mean about not having much energy, and you have got to be exhausted! I am dreading the exhaustion of third trimester especially considering how short lived the second trimester energy boost was~!
Anyways take care and try to rest!

M.M.Masi - Tuesday, 3 June
Hang in there, you'll be fine. At least you know what to expect. I'm going in blindly and super excited. Not a great combination but it will have to do. My dr. told me to not get my hopes up about breastfeeding because it's very difficult. Did you breastfeed?

*babylicious* - Friday, 30 May
Oh you're baby girls are soooo sweet!!! I'm so jealous! I always wanted twins!! xx

TWINSX2 - Friday, 30 May
It looks like one of each for us!!!!!! We are excited- we already have everything we need!!! All I wanted was atleast one girl for my 9mo girl to have a sister close in age! I have another scan on 6/27, so we'll see if the boy stays a boy, they called my first a boy until I was 28 weeks. Thank goodness I had not painted yet!!!!!! Hope you are doing well, I'll send morerecipes later.

TWINSX2 - Thursday, 29 May
Okay so one of my favorite one pot meals is pork chops and veggies.I put 2lbs baby carrots(chopped) and 5-6 potatos(chopped) in my crock pot, add water to cover( just barely) I brown my pork chops each side, add chops and drippings to crock pot. Salt and pepper to taste add a onion sliced on top. Cook on low all day.My family LOVES it.
A freeze ahead casserole that we love, is Chicken Rotel Spaghetti
5-6 bone in chicken breast boiled (save broth), 1 lb angel hair pasta(cooked in broth),1lb velveeta,1 small can MILD Rotel, 1 can crm mushroom,1 can cream chkn, 1 cup broth from chicken. combine soups and cheese, stir over med heat until melted/combined. mix in noodles and chicken.Pour into 2 9x13 casserole dishes. bake at 350 until bubbly.Freezes well, just thaw and bake.
Hope these are as a big a hit with your family as they are mine. I'll send more later. Don't want to take up your entire page, feel free to delete when you are done.

TWINSX2 - Wednesday, 28 May
Well, not sure how much help this will be,but here is my "routine". I have a weekly closet organizer(sort of like a shoe holder) that hangs on the closet rack and has a cubby for each day( I have just gotten a second one). I get an outfit for each, including hair bows, socks, undies diaper, etc and put them in gallon size ziplock bags( each child has 7 bags)and put them in daily slots so no matter who gets them up, they have everything they need to get them dressed and ready for the day.
We have a few breakfast choices, and I keep Dry cereal in tupperware bowls so I can grab a bowl open and add milk, or instant oatmeal ready to add hot water, my kids love waffles, so I cook large batches and freeze in serving size freezer bags.I try to keepfruit cut up a ready to serve at all times, and when the kids are taking their AM naps I get lunch ready ie sandwhiches, or soups or whatever, so that when they are ready the most I have to do is heat each plate. For dinners, I cook large quantities of veggies and side dishes on Mondays( DH is off work)I also try to have a menu that covers three weeks and have anything that can be prepared ahead of time done and frozen. I make soups, sauces, etc in large quantities and freeze them in family size portions. We have several casseroles that we love and I make them 2-3 at a time and freeze, so I always have a Quick dinner if needed.I also marinade my meat before freezing so that as it thaws it is already marinaded-save a step! Most nights all I have to truly COOK is the entree/meat. I am not fond of leftover meats so that is the only reason I do not do all of my cooking on Mondays.
I do not always stay ahead and organized, but I do try to do as much as I can while the kids are sleeping or with DH so that I do have to always balance spending time with them and getting the household things taken care of.
Good luck finding what works for you! What works for is what is most important. Do not let it overwhelm you, believe me what doesn't get done today will still be there tomorrow!

charlotte74 - Wednesday, 28 May
Back is really really bad thought it was getting better but last oh my goodness, it went completly i was crawling on hands and knees and still can't walk properly today!

I had a check up today and got a telling off my midwife she has advised not going back to work and being signed off! the twins are doing well tho good heartbeats she was trying to get me feel the little girls head but i couldn't feel it!!!

How lovely 10 days is the weather good there at the moment? we have rain surprise surprise!!

I can't wait to see the twins in their crib..... it must look so cute!

So are you now a lady of leisure?

xx

TWINSX2 - Tuesday, 27 May
I love your girls names! I am feeling pretty good these days, I know the second trimester energy will only last for a few weeks but I am enjoying it all the same! I got stretch marks so bad with my last pregnancy, That I just figure it's inevitable to get a few more this time!!!! My DH says I should be proud of them, they are "war scars"! Yeah, and they are all over MY belly not his!LOL!
Anyways, hope you had a great Memorial Day holiday. We spent the day swimmimg at our neighborhood pool, the kids were exhausted and went to bed early with no fuss! What a joy!!!!

Charlotte74 - Tuesday, 27 May
I thought the twins were coming on Sunday as i was having really bad braxton hicks! i know what you mean anout your belly sometimes it really hurts from strecthing! how are we going to cope for another 12 - 13 weeks!

Touch wood i haven't got heartburn i got it in the very early stages but fingers crossed it won't come back! I think i would cry if i got it.

Going to get the cotbeds at the weekend and then we are more or less done, did your girls share a crib?

x
