pregnancy due date

10/26/07- 12 weeks

Went to the doctor today for ultrasound.

MyCuteGraphics.com - Cute Glitter Graphics

12/11/07 - 18 weeks

It's girls!!

01/15/08 - 23 weeks

Started having contractions over the weekend. Was put on house arrest today along with procardia and 17P shot once a week.

01/28/08 - 25 weeks

Everythings looking good the girls measure Abby-1lb14 oz and Ella 1lb-10 oz.

2/6/08 - 26 weeks

Started having contractions again. About 5 minutes apart by the time I got to the Dr. They monitored me and said I was having mild contractions but my cervix was still closed. They gave me a terbutaline pill and told me to go home and rest. This shoud stop the contractions.

2/13/08 - 27 weeks

They are right on track. Abby is 2lbs. 6 oz. and Ella is 2lbs. 8 oz. We are very happy about this.

Our concern now is Abby’s amniotic fluid. Last time we had an ultrasound it was a little low. It is quite a bit low now. I will be going to a specialist on Monday for a second opinion.

2/20/08 - 28 weeks

We went to the specialist on Monday and Abby’s fluid is still really low. They are calling it oligohydramnios. There was a possibility that her sac had a leak so we went to the hospital and had that checked and it was negative.

I went to my regular doctor yesterday. They really have no idea why this is happening. Basically at this point it’s wait and see. At some point either her weight will start to drop off or she will start to be crowded by Ella. When either happens they will be delivered. The doctor seems to think this would happen when Ella is around 6lbs. and Abby will have lagged behind at 4lbs.

I’m hoping for 35-36 weeks.

Abby is already 2lb 10oz and Ella is 2lb 15oz!!

We now go weekly on Mondays to the specialist and Fridays to the regular doctor.

2/26/08 - 29 weeks

We knew it would happen sooner or later. We’re in the hospital. We came in last night at about 7 with contractions that my normal meds wouldn’t stop. I was put on a magnesium sulfate i.v. This did not stop them and around 2 this morning I was given terbutaline shots 20 minutes a part until they finally stopped.

As of right now the doctor wants me to have 48 hours of the i.v. so I’m here until at least Thursday morning. He will be sending me home with a terbutaline pump that will be inserted in my arm and will give me continuous meds.

The babies are still doing good. Abby has been moving so much they have had a hard time keeping the monitor on her. I did have an ultrasound yesterday morning. She does still have low fluid. These are not related. We will be still watching her closely like we were before.

3/2/08 - 30 weeks

Here we go again!!

We got home Thursday afternoon. I have a terbutaline pump in my leg that delivers meds continuous and every 4 hours gives me an extra does. This medicine makes me very jittery and sleeping is next to impossible. But if it keeps the contractions down then we’re good.

I rested Friday!! Saturday morning I started throwing up. I could not keep anything down. Sooooo….Here we go again.

I was very dehydrated and having lots of contractions. They started the magnesium sulfate i.v. again and fluids. That made everything better.

They did an ultrasound and Abby is now 3lb 2oz. and Ella is 3lb 11 oz. Yes Ella is getting a head. This was to be expected because of Abby’s low fluid. Abby’s fluid is still low. Even lower than before, since I was so dehydrated. It is still not dangerous at this point. I have also started to dilate. Not much but at this point I don’t want any changes.

I was given a shot this morning and will get another tomorrow to mature their lungs.

We were shooting for 38 weeks which would have been April 25 but we will be doing good to make it to the end of March which will be about 34 weeks.

I am supposed to go home again tomorrow, as long as I’m hydrated and I’ve stopped contracting so much. Which at this point looks good.

3/5/08 - 30 weeks

Yay!!!! Home...for now!!

Finally we were hydrated enough and no contractions.
Dr. says we will continue to stay on the meds and in and out of the hospital to keep labor away for now. Abby's fluid is still low and what we're waiting on is for her to stop growing. She gained about 8oz last weeks so that's good. The day she shows no growth is the day we will deliver. He says that if we go to 36 weeks it will be great thing.
So our new date to look forward to is April 11 (5 weeks from Friday!!)
3/12/08 - 31 weeks
Everything has been quiet!!
Abby now weighs 3 lbs 10 oz and Ella is a chubby 4 lbs 2 oz. I have an ultrasound picture of her fat rolls!! Abby does still have really low fluid but no problems so far with it.
The medicine and bedrest are keeping the contractions to a minimum.
Dr. says 34 weeks (2 weeks from Friday) is a crucial milestone. If we make it to that date then we're doing great. Their lungs will be close to being fully developed and won't have as many complications.
We are still going to try for 36 weeks - April 11th.

3/25/08 - 33 weeks 4 days

Went to the doctor yesterday. Abby weighs 4lbs 8 oz. and Ella is 4lbs 13 oz. They were moving around and practicing breathing. Abby’s fluid is still low but the same. So everything is good. I go back to the specialist in 2 weeks. I’m 33 weeks and 4 days now. We’re still shooting for 36 weeks which is April 11th, but at this rate we might go longer if everything keeps quiet.

3/3/08 They're Here!!

They were born at 7:28 and 7:29.
Abby Kate was 4 pounds 11 ounces and was 17 inches long.
Ella Kristin was 5 pounds 11 ounces and 18 1/2 inches.
They are doing great for being born at 1 day shy of 35 weeks.
Both are breathing on their own and keeping their own body temps. Hopefully tonight we will get to feed them. Abby already has the pacifier down! They are in NICU and will be about 5 days.
They were delivered via c-section. I went to the Dr. yesterday with slightly high blood pressure so he sent me to the hospital to be monitored. They did an ultrasound and decided at that point Abby didn't have enough room. So off we went and within a few hours they were here!!

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

Thank you... yes, crazy enough I was still on the pump. I was supposed to get off of it today. I went into labor wed night and had him thursday morning. I had a terrible labor. My epi never worked. He was born at 34 weeks and weighed a whopping 7#1oz and 20 inches long. He is a big boy. He wasn't breathing on his own so he was sent to the nicu for a ventilator. He is now off of it and all oxygen. He is on a feeding tube still until he gets the hang of the boob and bottle. He has gotten a lot better as of today. Hopefully he will come home by friday. How are your little ones doing?

lisatek82 - Tuesday, 15 April
So exciting. I am happy that they were so healthy. I get taken off the pump on Tues... yay I can't wait to pull the plug. They expect me to go within hours to days so we'll see. Knowing my luck it will be weeks. I am so over being pregnant now. It would be alright if it hadn't been so complicated. KIT though and I can't wait to see more pics.

lisatek82 - Saturday, 12 April
OMG Congrats... I just came to check on you and saw the news. I am so glad that they are healthy and stayed in for so long. Did you still have the pump in when you went into labor? I get mine taken out not this tues but the next... yay! They are so beautiful and I hope to hear from you when things get under control...LOL In 5 yrs J/K

Hey Girl!!! Appointment's were good. Dr Rowe said the girl's were cooked and lungs are ready!! I thought my OB said that Rowe said "No, too soon" for the 18th???? He wasn't acting like that yesterday. He told me and my DH to "get after it" this weekend and they may come early. Kennedy's head is down but my cervix is completely closed still. I am not going anywhere I do not think. My DH is getting VERY impatient. He wanted Rowe to send us across the street yesterday. He hates not having control of something. he is going to be chasing me around all weekend!! The weather is supposed to be nice. My big bottom is going to be floating all weekend in the pool while I sip on snocones and pretend they are Margarita's!!!
Enough about me...How are the babies??? Are they home yet? You are going to have to give me all the pointer's since this is all happening to you first!!
Hopefully the girl's will be on the same schedule and you won't lose too much sleep. Are you going back to teaching in the Fall or are you going to be a SAHM now? At least you have all Summer off!!!!
Keep me updated on the babies and I will do the same!! xxAmyxxx

Congrat's on the girl's!!!!! They are beautiful!!!
I am so glad that they are doing so well!!
I haven't been on all weekend as we have been going 90 to nothing with Harrison's baseball tourney. It is 4:30 am and I couldn't sleep so I was going to drop you a line to tell you my date was changed, but not to the week before..to the 23rd. Rowe shot down the 18th. He said too soon. I have a strange feeling I will go before the 23rd.
So I guess you are home by now. How are you feeling? How are the girl's doing?
I take it they will come out of NICU today?
My friend had her quads at Women's on Tuesday. Thye were 28 weeks....all between 2 lbs and 2 lbs 7 oz. Ella and Cole are breathing on their own and Cooper and Cason still need assistance. They will be in NICU about 6 weeks.
I bet you are so glad to have them here. How is big sister adjusting?
Well Congrat's again and keep me updated!!!
xxxxAmyxxx

I wrote you a response yesterday and lost it..so here we go again. The scheduler was out yesterday. They are talking to Finley-Smith today about moving it to the 18th. That is the day I did not want it to happen because Harrison has that tournament at Big League Dreams. I wish the 22nd would have been open. I was really excited about that date. If the week of the 21st is booked I do not know why there would be any c-section openings the week before?? I just want a low chance of NICU. I was pretty miserable yesterday, but am feeling better today. I am VERY swollen. We are going to discuss the dates with Rowe Thursday. Do you see Goodrum this week?
The buy and sell had tons of stuff, but things I already have (and you probably do too). It would have been perfect if I had just found out about the pregnancy. It was also good for Grandma's who needed extra stuff at their house. I really came out empty handed. They had a buch of clothes and that is the LAST thing I need. Maybe in September when I need larger clothes it will be good! My parent's were with me because we were on our way to Harrison's 8:00 baseball game in North Houston, so I felt really rushed. I ended up going to BAbies R Us and Target Saturday night and did some damage there. I am just concentrating on getting my bags packed now. I should here something today about the 18th, so I will let you know!!

lisatek82 - Saturday, 29 Mar
Hi how are you??? R those babies still causing problems:) R U still on the terb pump as well? I am still on mine until 35 weeks. 3.2 to go...wohoo. I am so tired of this stupid thing and the monitering. I still have a lot of contractions about 6-8 an hour on the pump. I am thinging I might last a couple days after it is gone b4 going into labor. I made it one week last time, but this time is so much worse. I saw you are dilated now... How many cm? I am 2cm right now, but I have been for about a month and a half. I hope you are feeling okay and you can keep them in just a little longer. Good luck!

AmyJ - Friday, 28 Mar
Hey Girl!
Drama with the date. I called to confirm the 22nd and it was full. So was the 21st thru the 24th. They scheduled it for the 25th at 1:30. That is a day before I am 28 weeks. I think that is fine, but my DH does not! Dr Rowe said he did not want me going past 37 weeks one time and that stuck in my DH's head. If the girl's weigh 4 and 5 pounds now can you imagine what I will be carrying in a month???
I am swelling BAD too. It just started Wednesday. Are you experiencing that too?
I went to the OB on Wednesday and was measuring at 48 weeks. My total weight gain is 10 pounds. I had a scan at Rowe's that day too and the babies are 5.1 and 4.5. He estimates my fluid weighing 7 pounds, my membranes being around 5-6 pounds, and my placenta weighing 7 pounds. He showed us on US where there is a layer of fluid under my abdomen on the left side. He said I must be laying more on my left side, which I am.
Anyway...back to the date.....my DH called the office, but my OB had left for the day. So the scheduler was going to check with her on Monday to see about scheduling the 9th-11th with the Dr on call for my regular OB. So I will let you know on Monday what they say.
Harrison has a tournament at the Field of Dreams that weekend and I hate to miss it, though :( I was really excited at the prospect of having the babies during the middle of the week. I wonder if they have a cancellation list. Surely some of these ladies scheduled for sections go into labor early or have complications where they deliver early. I guess either way the girl's will be here in a month.
Did you see Korman today? Is everything still staying 'quiet' for you?
If it does not rain I am going to check out the buy and sell in the morning!!
Have a great weekend!

daniellem - Tuesday, 25 Mar

It sounds like your visit went well!! So happy for you!! The girl's have great weight's and I am glad Abby's fluid is holding it's own! I go tomorrow to my OB and Rowe, so I will let you know how that goes!! And Ewwww....I will turn 37 too...ughhh I am OLD!!!!
