Automatic update: msmillsap08 added a new blog: Good News! It Worked!!!!

suzannew - Friday, 6 June
Don't feel guilty! You and your baby come first! I am a teacher but I chose to teach summer school this year. When it ends in July trust me I'm not doing anything else. In fact I'm not returning to school in August. I've chosen to take time off until the baby comes and then enjoy my time with her. Your job will do fine without you there.

hopeful2008 - Friday, 6 June
Hiya,
hey about when you start your maternity leave, i so believe its a personal individual thing. I mean some people who have less strenuous jobs can work right till the last minute, others are gonna need to finish earlier just simply due to the demands of their job on them being too much.
In my last pregnancy i worked up to 35 weeks - i think i did really well to get that far, i was SO SO sick the whole time, had loads of health things going on and worked full time on a trauma orthopedic ward.
This time however, i am AIMING to work till 37 weeks because now im only part time and am feeling relatively well in comparrison, still on the same ward and at times i really wonder if im gonna get that far but like i said, thats the plan.
Even so, you shouldnt feel guilty, its your decision and you know your body best and how its coping with the demands you are putting on it.
So i say good luck to you and roll on early leave lol.
The only reason im hanging on in there as far as 37 weeks is to give me more time off after the baby is born, Freya arrived 10 days overdue so i had just over 6 weeks to wait before she arrived from when i finished work and i was SO bored which made me even more anxious for her to come.
Anyway, you do what you feel is right for you and im sure it will be fine.,
Take care honey xxxx

ezrasmommy - Thursday, 5 June
Hi! I hope that you are doing well. Yes, I am also taking off as of July 1st. I am so excited to have that little bit of extra time to be at home and get things ready and spend time with my 7 year old son! DO NOT feel guilty! You will be overworked in September!

leah2885 - Tuesday, 3 June
Thanks for the advise, my cramps got a lot better once I got home from work and just sat down. I guess you are right, they must just be stretching pains. She is getting soooo big now. This is my first baby and yesterday I actually saw her roll over in my belly. It was so awesome. I can't believe how much I love her!!!

2ndtimearound@25 - Monday, 2 June
Hello! How are you? everything is good here. Finally able to get some sleep now that my son is better. He is going to have surgery for tonsills, adenoids, and tubes in his ears in a couple of weeks-so I'm trying to rest now while I can! Hope all is well with you!

kristam - Sunday, 1 June
I have had some really good days and also some bad ones....lol. The other day I was feeling very crampy, but it went away. Last night I was laying down trying to get my little ones to sleep when I got a huge painful contraction, but there was only one, but it was strong. But everything else has been very good! Hope things are going well for you!

RASL30 - Friday, 30 May
the BH contractions I have (and I had like 5 yesterday) are usually not painful at all, just a little uncomfortable b/c I feel my body doing something. Usually I only notice b/c I touch my belly & it is hard, but sometimes I will have light cramps on one side (very period like). Occassionally (in the last 2 days) I will get a bit more painful cramping feeling, not sure if it baby kicking, or hitting a nerve.
HTH!

mrs.rodriguez - Thursday, 29 May
Braxton Hicks contractions are low and last no longer than about 10 seconds. I usually get mine when my bladder is full. Sometimes they stop me in my tracks but they really shouldn't be too painful.

hopeful2008 - Thursday, 29 May
bless ya, well good luck for tomorrow then, hope its all better when the cast comes off.
I reckon these aches and pains is just pure and simple down to pregnancy! men would never survice a second time round would they hahahaha.
Take care, nice to catch up again xxx

hopeful2008 - Thursday, 29 May
Hi,
Well with my last pregnancy I had REAL strong braxton hicks, mainly towards the end. I remember going to the consultant and he asked me if i was in pain as he was examining me. I just said no not really it just feels like the baby is turning over, he said Oh no my dear you are having contractions!!! I said well if they all feel like this then bring em on LOL.

This time however i have had these type of tightnings for about the last 2 weeks, its like my whole tummy goes tight and hardenes. And its not painful just quite a bit uncomfortable, they dont last very long but can be quite freuent. Im sure they are braxton hicks because they are so like what the Dr told me i was having last time,

Dont know if that helps but thought id share my experience with you anyway.

By the way, hows the plantar faciitis??? Its really funny y'know because since i last wrote to you, bout a week later, ive started to get it back in my right foot! HAHAHA, couldnt believe it. Its not too bad though, just a bit sore when i stand up on it after ive been sitting or sleeping! I dunno ey.

Anyway, hope you are well.
Take care, Theresa xxx

kristam - Thursday, 29 May
Mine feel like a balling up is how I best describe them. My husband can even feel it. But they do not last long, and are not consistant... You will get a lot of false labour. It is your body preparing for actual labour. I know strectching hurts sometimes. And when they are moving their head down further that sometimes can cause pain. So many little things that cause us panic....lol. You will feel your whole stomach tighten and get hard when you are having a contraction. If you lay down and drink a lot of water they should go away. If they get more intense you should call the doctor. Best to have it checked out sometimes, just as a precaution. Hope everything else is going good for you!!!

kristam - Tuesday, 27 May
Hey thanks for stopping by. I actually have been cleaning house, and doing laundry... Took the kids to the zoo over the weekend, and had a great time! So I finally have a little more energy. I have been having some braxton hicks contractions. But been feeling very good..lol. Also it seems like just over night I am really showing, got a big baby belly now....lol. How about you? I am really getting excited! I am glad you are feeling good!

mommaxamanda - Tuesday, 27 May
my glucose test is June 9th...sooo not looking forward to it. it's weird because last check up, they gave me the stuff to drink at home and around 9am i have to drink it, then come in...i guess it's faster that way so they can get me in, stick me with a needle and see me next time. i've been getting a lot of cramps, but my doctor says it's normal.. he calls it "faulse labor" which scares me since i'm only 24 weeks and 5 days.

Tonya- - Monday, 26 May
Hey i have been good we went camping this weekend i was relaxed for the most part but being 26 weeks is kind of misable being outside for 3 days i was bunt after just a hour and a half lol the joys of being pregnant did you get your cleaning done i hate cleaning then i get in those cleaning moods do it all day and then want to cry at night cause my hips and back hurt so bad lol but anyways since i have almost wrote a book i better let you go ttyl

christina1869 - Monday, 26 May
OK, Im always hungry. Drop me a line when you get time. You take care. Christina

2ndtimearound@25 - Monday, 26 May
Hey! Im doing good-just exhausted! My son has been very sick. My husband works nights-so I have had to stay up all night and work all day!!!! I think he is finally starting to get better!! This time is going by much faster than last time!!! Wont be long!

christina1869 - Sunday, 25 May
Everything is going great with me, Ive gained over 35lb though.. But I dont care...the joy of been pregnant. The baby is kicking me nice and strong now, every time it happens Im amazed. You'd think this was my 1st pregnancy not my 4th. How much weight have you gained so far? And are you all set for the babys arrival? Ive got everything apart from the baby now. Only 16 more weeks, I can't wait. Im so excited. I hope you are well. Take care Christina

alexaliff - Saturday, 24 May
Hey! I think that it's very inspiring taking on everything that you are. The general concencous is that once you have a child everything else has to stop. I feel that being pregnant has actually motivated me to do more- just like it obviously has for you! My pregnancy is going pretty smoothly. I've felt nauseous a lot but no vomiting! No anything really! Just have less energy than normal but that's fine 'cos I lurrrrve to nap! I got a kidney infection early on that put me in hospital but hopefully thats all behind us. Honestly right now, I barely even feel pregnant, except for a little bump that is starting to show!!! How about your pregnancy- how have you been doing? Is it different from your first? Have a lovely memorial day weekend!

alexaliff - Saturday, 24 May
What a cutie pie! She really has a lovely smile.

alexaliff - Saturday, 24 May
Hey there! Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I really want to go back to school, how do you balance school with your daughter?

msmillsap08 - Thursday, 22 May
Hi, I have my glucose test coming up on the 29th of this month. Since this is my first baby, I dont know much about it. My mom had three babies and with the last one she was borderline diabetic and had to take the 3 hr glucose test and she said the stuff tastes horrible. So im hoping to avoid it. Mainly because I dont want anything to be wrong and then because I dread drinking the nasty stuff..lol I hope your foot gets better too!

msmillsap08 - Wednesday, 21 May
Hi, I too am having trouble breathing this week, I just turned 24 wks too, Im due Sept 10th. Starting to feel really prego at this point too!

prego22 - Tuesday, 20 May
Hi,
I hope you are doing great. I havent talked to you in awhile but I just wanted to let you know that I am prego with my third girl. We had our U/S today and just found out. I am really excited and cannot believe that I am going to be the mommy of three little girls! My husband is in shock, and has been for the last 6 hours...I think it is quite funny. Anyway take care and hope you are well.

hopeful2008 - Wednesday, 14 May
hey, your so welcome, i think its nice anytime when someone shows a bit of care and compassion (maybe thats the nurse in me lol) but especially so when your pregnant. Things can seem so much worse cant they!
My pregnancy is going fine thanks, i get a bit of pain here and there but thats becuase i have arthritis anyway and this pregnancy seems to have agravated it a bit, but most of the time its not too bad so i cant really moan, my hips are the worst, specially the one cos i keep getting a trapped nerve in it when i sit down and then go to stand!
I think im just getting old really hahahahahaha.
Im lucky in some ways because my husband is at home whilst i work part time, so he does quite a lot with our 2 girls, i have one whos almost 10 an the other is almost 3. The 10yr old does a lot of dancing so that is really time consuming - not to mention expensive! But at least hes willing to ferry her around to her lessons and stuff, plus taking care of the little one too. The downside to that is though that we are struggling a little financially, but hey ho, we'll get there.
We found out that im having a boy this time, i was a little dissapointed at first because i was longing for another girl, maybe thats because its all ive ever known, however im over that now and am as excited and looking forward to his arrival, babies are babies and are so adorable whatever they are arent they. Plus the way i look at it now is that i will be priveledged to know what its like to have girls and a boy so i consider myself really lucky after all.
Right dont want to bore you too much so better go, its great to chat to you, glad its helped you mind. This site is great isnt it, i love to be able to share stuff with other mums to be in the same boat, its reassuring. Anyway, you take care now luv Theresa xxx
