Saxon is here!

May 23, 2008

7 lbs 3 oz

I just got home from the hospital, so I'll spend time updating this after I get some rest. Wednesday and Thursday evening I was having some pretty painful Braxton Hicks contractions about every 10 minutes, but then after a couple of hours they'd go away. So I went in for my 36 week checkup on Friday morning and was having mild contractions every 3 minutes. The doctor checked and I was a little more than 4 cm dilated, so he went ahead and put me in the hospital at 11:45 am. At 12 he came and broke my water. I obviously didn't remember how painful it was having my last child, so I turned down the epidural. Well, the contractions were suprisingly easy to manage, until around 3:50. I had tears in my eyes, so the nurse checked me and told me that I was at 6. I asked her for some demerol, but she said that I was too far dilated, and they weren't allowed to give it after a certain point. (My doctor was in the OR at this time.) At 4:02 pm, the doctor stuck his head in the door and asked how I was doing. I told him very sarcastically that it was really starting to hurt a little bit. The nurse told him that I was 6 cm dilated, and it would be about an hour before we were ready to deliver. The doctor walked out of the room, and the very next contraction hurt so badly that I couldn't see straight, and I screamed for the nurse to hunt down the epidural man. She stepped out to find him, and with the next contraction, I felt muscles tearing and I asked if they could just put me to sleep because I couldn't take any more. She asked me to move my knees apart, which I objected to... and then she screamed for another nurse, because the baby's head was crowning. She had 1 glove on, and did everything she could to keep the baby's head from coming out. Her screaming attracted all of the nurses on the floor... and with the 3rd contraction the baby's head was completely out and the doctor came running into a room full of 8 nurses (one of them still trying to keep the baby in). I looked at the doctor and said "glad you could join us", and with one little half push, the baby came out. This was at 4:08 pm.... just 6 minutes after the nurse told my doctor that it would be an hour. :-) My little Saxon weighed 7 lbs 3 oz, and is perfectly healthy. We just came home tonight, after being in the hospital for 2 days, so I'll go ahead and put a couple of the pictures from my camera phone on here, even though they're not very good. And I'll do a complete update and post some good pictures once I get some rest. It's been at least 2 nights without sleep, and it's time to feed Saxon again!!!

May 26, Memorial Day

We went to visit my parents today. I spent a lot of time crying, simply because my hormones seem to be a little messed up at the moment. My husband couldn't figure out how to download the pictures off of his phone, so he took the ones off of my phone (which aren't very good) and turned them into .jpg files so that I could put them on here. As soon as I can I'll put some decent pictures on, but until then, at least you'll have an idea as to what he looks like. Well... it's getting really late, and I'm sleepy. So... goodnight, and I'll update this again with some better pictures within a few days.

I have yet to give Alexis any formula which I really hope continues for a long time! My belly still looks as tho i'm like 3-4 months pregnant some days it's not too bad, while others i'm bloated!! i have yet to get a period also! which i really don't mind lol.
My kids are 14 months apart and i'msure that's the reason why i'm still pretty big in the stomach area. I only lost like 15 lbs. i went from 176 (right before giving birth) & now i'm 161. Alexis was 7.5 so 7lbs of teh 15 was lost when i gave birth, so i've only lost 8lbs by myself. I lost 30 lbs by the time my son was 4 months old but that may also be because I went back to work when he was 6 weeks old! And working as an overnight stocker is like a workout in itself.

Well ttyl byes

Yes...you sound REALLY busy! I am surprised you have time to go online!! Norah is doing great. Smiling tons and growing every day. She is still sleeping in her pack-n-play because we are almost done with her room. She is only up once a night still...which is fine w/me (am not complaining!). I hope that she adjusts well when she moves into the crib!! Yes, I am breastfeeding...which is going very well. She is a chunky-monkey, so I must be doing something right!! Sometimes, I wonder, but I enjoy it. You are supplementing, right??

Yeah... you sound very busy. Sorry I haven't been online lately. I am going to get started on updating my page-sometimes time just flies by ya!! So, how are things going for you?

padow - Thursday, 31 July
Yeah, I am going to be patient and enjoy Norah right now. If we have to see a dr., then so be it! BTW--your kids are gorgeous!! Just browsing throught your photos and love the one with all of them! We hope to have 2 more...maybe 3, for a total of 4. Time will tell. So, how is it having a newborn and the others? R they helpful?? How are you feeling? I still have weight to lose after her, too. I haven't been exercising, though--I need to start walking. I would love to meet someone to walk with, because we just moved. Do you have any suggestions on how?? I tried Craig's list...and am going to try meetup...we'll see. Hope you have a great daY!

That's too funnny. My 18 month old eats her breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a walker. Well, at least she did until she learned how to climb out of it. Now she bothers her siblings at every meal time and one of them always ends up giving up a chair just to satisfy her. And on top of that, she's also learned how to use the steps to climb on top of their bunk beds. Never a dull moment:) And you definately don't appreciate sleep until you no longer get it! Oh the joys of motherhood...lol

Well, the funny thing is that they just sent me to the hospital again yesterday for the same thing. Of course, everything was fine and I got sent home. The midwife said that I need to start thinking about the birthday of the babies because the chances of Jael(girl) turning now are slim to none. So it's looking like a c-section and I'm slowly coming to grips with it. If she turns last minute, I'll know it was nobody but God. I'm sure I don't want anymore. I'm already 30 and if I wait a few more years to have another one, my chance for twins or more increases. I would go insane...lol. Getting my tubes tied was never an option until the fact that I may have to have a c-section came into the equation. I wanted the Mirena but doctor saids that the risk are higher for me because my cervix has been through too much. Either it'll slip and I'll get pregnant or it'll get lost and I'll need surgery. Not worth the risk. I've definately been blessed and can't complain. Thank you!! I'll keep you updated.

OH YES! We are ttc (sorta)...just whenever it happens. We are not sure if I will be able to get pg on my own, so the breastfeeding may prevent it--and it may not, ya know? How much sleep does he get throughout the day? Am trying to get Norah to nap more during the days in hopes that her evenings won't be as cranky??! During the night (after she goes down--between 9 and midnight!) she is only up once or twice a night. No complaints there...just concerned about her in the evenings. I have been trying to keep her occupied during the day--but c'mon! She's only 2 months old! Not too much to entertain, just yet!! Hope you are well! Busy...you must be!!
