I am currently pregnant with identical twin girls. My husband is in the Air Force and we are currently stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. We have three children ages 9,8,& 7; two boys and a girl. For the past few years I have been wanting more children and my daughter was begging and praying for a sister. My husband prayed about it and agreed that we should try again. We started trying last September and in October I got pregnant.

I started cramping and bleeding the first week of December and thought I was having a miscarriage. They did an ultrasound and said everything looked good. Two weeks later when I was about 6 or 7 weeks the Dr. told me I was having twins. I think I cried on the table due to overwhelming joy.

When I was 17 God gave me a vision that I would have twins. About a year before I got pregnant I taught a Bible study called Believing God. The purpose was to believe God could do something miraculous in your life. The one thing that I believed and prayed for was the twins that He promised me as a teenager. I'm one of 15 children (0 twins), there are 35 grandchildren (0 twins), my husbands family also has no twins, so we knew it wasn't something that ran in our families.

We consider this our miracle pregnancy. That's not to say it's been easy. I threw up for the first 5 months, and I've been in the hospital 4 times, but the babies are still growing strong.

I know that every life has a purpose, and there is a reason that each of us exists. I am extremely grateful for the two little miracles that are growing inside of me. Even though this pregnancy hasn't been easy I know years from now I'll look back and understand why.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I had to laugh at your dairy cow comment on the multiples forum. My twins are also about the same age and i am pumping about 90% of their meals. I feel your pain. I hate to pump so much but i needed to have the help and the bottles make it easier to supplement when i need to. It is great for the babies though they are growing so fast and the money saved on formula keeps me going. Hang in there they will not be small forever.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hello there! I just read your comment about pumping... I had to chuckle a bit, and I do not fully understand it yet, but am getting there! My girls were just born last week, at 33 weeks, so they are still in NICU... When I am visiting them during the day, I get so much more milk with the hospital pump... then at home, ugh.... my pump just does not work as good. I have an Ameda Purely yours and it is NOT the same! Anyways - just wanted to comment. Your children are all beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Congrats on the birth of your twins - your gift from God!

I saw your comment on the multiples page - nursing and sleep etc. My girls were on the smaller size when they were born and because they lost even more weight while in the hospital we had to feed them every 3 hours - including waking them up to feed until they hit the 6 lb mark. Also - we had to supplement for the first two weeks (pumped breastmilk) until they could suck hard enough to get enough oz from just nursing. And then after that they would wake on their own almost every 3 hours anyways to feed. It didn't get much better until 6 weeks after their original due date (not their actual date of birth) when they started to sleep continuously 3-5 hours at a go - and even then I wasn't getting that much.

I know that probably doesn't help much - but thought I would share my story. In the end the girls probably started sleeping better around 6 months with 1-2 feeds at night. Though I know there are woman who have better sleepers from the get go.

if u dont mind me asking but why were your girls in the NICU for 2 weeks?

happy4twins - Wednesday, 23 July
Congratulation on your beautiful girls. I saw that you were nursing both. How wonderful. I really want to nurse mine exclusively and was wondering if you have tried to nurse them at the same time yet or if you just feed them each separately. I am trying to get any advice to help me nurse mine successfully. thank you.

I just hate to go in and sit for hours on end for them to send me home. If i knew I could go in and get the show on the road I would be there right now. Maybe Maybe Maybe the full moon will set me into labor tonight!!!! Oh that would be so nice I looked it up online and they say a lot of people believe that it truly does so I guess we will see. Thanks a lot its always nice to here what others think!! Hang in there and I will do the same

Oh yay!! You're almost there!!! Enjoy these last few weeks while you can!! I was 38 weeks and 1 day along when I was induced due to preeclampsia. I was in labor with constant back-to-back contractions for a full 24 hours with no REAL change so I opted for a c-section. As it turns out, I would have needed a c-section anyway because baby A (Bastian's) umbilical cord was wrapped so tightly around his legs and feet that he wouldn't have tolerated pushing. Thank GOD, though. Pitocin sucks and those vaginal exams suck even worse! :-P Now the boys are 1 day away from being one month old and we're doing very well!! If I could offer one piece of advice it's TWINS LOVE SCHEDULES!! Well, babies do in general but you'll go crazy before long if you don't have them on a schedule! At least that's how it was for me. GOOD LUCK and keep me updated!

I'm not feeding them at the same time! They just aren't feeding well enough yet. They both tend to get alot of air bubbles. So I have to take them off 3-4 times during a feed to burp them. They probably only take about 15 min. each. And I really enjoy the one-on-one time with them. I did purchase a twin bf pillow. So maybe when they are a bit older I'll use it to tandem feed. Course I do have my husband at home for the next 9 months, and he entertains the one I'm not feeding.

val4justin - Thursday, 5 June
Thats so true. I have been swimming like everyday for the past month or so. It helps to relieve some of the pressure. My boys have been head down for like almost 6 weeks now so Im not sure if the pool has anything to do with it or not. But the doctor said that that was awsome that I was swimming I guess that It helps with the placenta blood flow. Plus I can get them off my you know what for about an hour. !!! HAHA
