Welcome! First off, congratulations to all the mommies and mommies to be! I am currently pregnant with my first child. This is a very new and exciting stage in my life. I found out I was pregnant in Aug. 2007 and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my angel ever since. Come join me in my journey...

September 12, 2007 8 WEEKS

Today was my first ulrasound! It was so fascinating and relieving to see the baby for the first time. I am exactly 8 WEEKS and 3 DAYS! So, the baby is due April 21...one day before my own birthday. The heartbeat was really strong (176bpm). The doctor said laughing, "he's going to town in there"lol. That's cool.

September 24, 2007 10 WEEKS

Well, its Monday and back to work again. Over the weekend I was fine and today, not so great. I'm tired and nausea is slowly sneaking up on me. But, its cool. As long as the baby is okay. I am actually 10 weeks and a day today. I go for my next ultrasound on Wednesday and I can't wait. I have a lot of questions. Oh, i forgot to mention. I have also been extremely moody lately. I'm working on it, but its like I have NO patience. Then, I'm either feeling super sensitive (all emotional), extra happy, or frustrated. I'm a MESS!

Oct 10, 2007 12 WEEKS

Finally in my 12th week! Actually, turned 12 weeks on Sunday. The nausea is actually worse than ever but hopefully it will soon go away. I'm really having to watch what I eat and how much in order to avoid getting sick. But anyway, I'm starting to show now and I love it! At first I thought I was just bloated, but now I'm positive. We're still working on names. I guess it'll be a little easier when we find out what it is. My next doctor's appointment is Oct. 22. I'll get to see the baby again and I'm so excited. Til then, I'll try to stay healthy and do all the things expecting moms are suppose to do!

Oct 25, 2007 14 WEEKS

Went to the doctor yesterday and got to see my baby again. It was so funny because the baby was flipping and jumping around. I think he/she even tried to suck its thumb at one point. It's crazy because even though I'm only showing just a teeny weeny lil' bit, there is so much going on in there. In my heart I think its a girl but after seeing todays ultrasound something tells me it may be a boy. Of course the doctor wouldn't confirm the sex because she feels its too early. But anyway, doctor says everything is on schedule and looks good (heartrate 160bpm)..I feel so blessed!

Nov. 13, 2007 17 WEEKS

I've been feeling the baby move a lot lately! For the past week I haven't had much appetite. Actually, I think I ate more before I was pregnant lol. I guess it's okay as long as the baby is still getting all of his/her nutrients. Oh, and between me and you, I really thinks its a girl ;). I have a doctors appt this evening, but knowing them I probaly won't get an ultrasound. I don't think I'm scheduled for another ultrasound til' Dec 4th (2o weeks).

Had a dream last night that I actually saw the baby. I still don't recall if it was a boy or girl (I think girl) but it had the complexion of my boyfriend but it looked like me! I also remember a lot of hair.

December 18, 2007 22 WEEKS

I can't beleive time is going by sooo fast. My belly is getting bigger and tighter! She is VERY active, especially around 9am and then again around 2pm. But I love it! When she kicks me it's like her little way of communicating to me that she is okay. Everybody keeps telling me, "wait til shes bigger, those kicks aren't going to be so cute anymore!" ;)~

and here is the name I've picked... so far.. lol

Febuary 08, 2008 29 WEEKS

Guess its about that time for me to give you all an undate! I took my glucose test last week...still waiting on results. Dr. says that I gained about 16 lbs so far since the beginning. She wants me to gain atleast 20 altogether so i'm pretty much on track. Overall, I feel good. NOw that I'm almost 30 weeks I can definitely say that I "feel" the pregnancy now. One day I'll have all the energy in the world, and the next, I'll feel soo sluggish. I'm constantly using the bathroom and my appetite has gotten even bigger. Sometimes I'll be eating and not even realize how much I ate until its all gone lol.

I finally got some maternity clothes and boy do they work wonders. I had know idea they would make that much difference.

February 21, 2008 31 WEEKS

Belly is blowing UP! It was just a few months ago when I was complaining about not showing enough, but not now! No more bouncing straight up out the bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, now I gotta take it easy. Anyway, Glucose test came back good. My older sister is throwing my baby shower on April 6. I'm so excited. It would be the first time that my family and my boyfriend's family formally met. (alittle late right ;)~ ) So it'll be nice to have everyone together. A lot of the girls from work are throwing me another baby shower on March 15. I feel so loved*

34 weeks on the dot today! I can't believe I am so close now. Seroiusly, I don't think that it has really hit me yet that she will be here within the next 6 weeks. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow but i probaly won't get an ultrasound. Matta fact, I haven't seen Jayla since 20 weeks. Thats such a long, long time. Me and the hubby are doin okay. We pluck each others nerves and then kiss and make up everyday. I swear that its not me ;)~ don't blame the pregnant woman.

Its funny because throughout the pregnancy I never really had any cravings or anything. But he did! Everyday or atleast 4 days out of the week he eats a bag of barbeque chips and cheese dip. lol. and Iv'e been hating the smell of it since he started. And he's been gaining a little bit of weight right along with me! HA (he betta not get too fat!)

March 18, 2008 35 WEEKS

Face getting all fat lol. oh well, only 5 weeks to go. I still feel good. can't wait til the baby shower cuz I just want to have everything ready for her now. I have a feeling these last weeks are gonna go by slow. I just gotta keep my mind occupied. Everybody's talking about how my belly just blew up overnight...

...just found out my best friend is having a girl tooo!!! hers is due in August. I'm so excited :)

March 29, 2008 37 WEEKS (actually I won't be 37 weeks til tomorrow but who cares?)

3 weeks to go ladies! I don't know if I'm excited, nervous, or what... hey, bring it on lol. Iv'e gained about 25 lbs so far. Most of its in my belly which is good, but the rest is in my face lol. Baby shower is next weekend. I can't wait to get all of her stuff and start putting things up and decorating. Lately, Jayla has been the only thing on my mind. I think my boyfriend gets tired of me talking about the baby sometimes... he's just jealous ;)~ I just started having the BH contractions. Sometimes they are short and not so intense, but twice I actually had to FREEZE and get myself together (ha, and this is just the beginning) anything for my angel!

April 9, 2008 38 WEEKS

I feel so blessed to have so much support from all of my family and friends. I have been showered with more gifts than I could want. Baby Jayla is truly loved.

Tomorrow I will have my 38 week appointment. Hopefully there has been some progress. Last night I felt some pressure so I think that she may have dropped a bit more. If she's ready, mommy's ready... and if she's not, whats one more week gonna hurt? maybe a little ;)

BiRth StOry!

Okay, here we go. It all started on Saturday evening around 4pm. My boyfriend had just gotten home and I was on my way to the store. As soon as I got to the car I felt theis warm trickle run down my leg. Yes, my water had broken. I rushed back in and told him and we grabbed our things. In 15 minutes we at the hospital and 10 minutes after that I was being examined to make sure that it WAS amniotic fluid and not urine. (I had questioned it myself lol). My water had definitely broken. At this point I was in active labor. Unfortunately since I had just had an appointment two days before and was only 1cm dialated, I was told that it could take quite a while. Hours passed and contractions started and got stronger and stronger. I was about 3-4cm (8:30 pm ) when I got an epidural. The epidural wasn't that bad, just a slight cramp in my back. And it worked wonders. My whole bottom half was numb and I did not feel a thing. Hours and hours went by and still very little progress. The epidural slowed things down a bit. at 12:00am I was 5 cm. at 5:00 am I had reached 9cm. I was told that at 6:00 I would be able to start pushing!! Then 6 rolled around, and I was still 9cm and her head was faced in the wrong direction. The doctor told me that if it did not change in the next hour I would have to have a c-section. I was upset by the news but had to face it. Then, the hour went by... I was 10cm and she head turned her head for mommy,,, ! :)

I guess it was around 8 or 9ish when I initally started to push. All I know is that I had been pushing for over 3 hours before the time really came. By 11 o'clock I was so exhausted and I could feel the epidural wearing off. Not only that, I was told that the doctor may need to use forceps. It was not going to be pretty. The doctor finally came in and it was on. She placed in the forceps. The epidural could not compete with the pressure from the forceps because I definitely did feel them. I stared to push with all my might. I was so tired from before but all of a sudden I had the strength. I pushed and pushed (even when I could have stopped for a moment) I not only had to get the baby out but those forceps!!!! within minutes the doctor said "one more push, I just need you to push one more time really hard". I pushed and next thing I knew it Jayla was up in the air. It was such a relief.

My little angel had arrived. She was healthy and beautiful! I held her in my arms and we both looked into each others eyes. I could not believe it! It felt so good to finally see her. Now I know what so many other moms mean by that instant love. Its so so so true!
