Hey, Thanks for complementing me on my baby name on the poll page. I appreciate it. I really like the name Elsa because it is unique.

I hope that your pregnancy is going well.

I have the CTS in both hands as well. My right has it go all the way up to my elbow. I tried the arm brace last night that's for CTS, but it really didn't work. I will keep using it though to see if I do eventually see a change. Maybe try having your spouse massage your hands and wrists before going to bed. I've had my husband do that for me and it helped a little. I really don't know what else to do about it. I was thinking that maybe a diet low in sodium may help. I think the salt in foods can cause swelling and that's apart of the carpal tunnel. Maybe drinking more water to. I don't know, girl I think we may be stuck with this no matter what we do until we deliver our babies! It's such a pain though! If you can think of anything or come across info that may help, let me know and I will let you know to.

Thanks for the comment. They feel like gas bubbles to me as well. Also it's good to know that SOMETIMES being mellow in the womb can translate into having a mellow child. So far my little one seems to be on that path. Thank God!

Thanks for your comment on my pole. Yes, I run as well. I was running about 3 miles per day pre-pregnancy, but now I'm down to about 1 per day as I don't spend as much time running. Keep me posted on your running and how it is going as you grow larger. I'm a few weeks behind you (17 weeks), so I'd be interested to hear if and when you become unable to run.

I had vaginal delivery with my first, and emergency c-section due to fetal distress with my second. This time around I am going for VBAC. I feel that the risks are higher w/ c-section, and I know from experience c-section is alot longer painful recovery. I've done alot of research and feel that it is a wise decision.

thank you for the website, it was very helpful!!

Thank You! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

VBAC's are not always safer ~ I had one and know differently ~ my VBAC caused alot of long term pain and damage. Only your doc can say what is safer, sometimes a section is safer ~ if the circumstance can happen again that lead to the last section then you are taking a risk and will probably have one again, if it was isolated and will most likely not occur again then perhaps BUT only your doc will know. VBACS have risks and many will not do them because of it. The bonding with a section is no different, I had both and I bonded just the same ~ If for example you have a fused pelvis natural isnt an option and that would be for all deliveries so talk to your doc since they will know whats best and safest ~ (()) You gow ith what makes you most comfortable ~ not what others tell you should do because only you and your doc know your medical circumstances ~ (())

Congrats on your pregnancy! I might have to get a c-section this time, but I dont know anyone who's had one before. Can you tell me what it's like? I've read everything I could find online, but nothing talks about what it's like from the mother's point of view. Any info would be appreciated!! Thank you!

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad to hear someone else has had this happen, because I don't remember them so early and often with my first two. Good luck to you in your pregnancy!

Yes other women are I actually gaves some tips for the 'carpal tunnel' symptoms you are experiencing. The reason this is happening is the hormones that are release in our bodies help relax the ligaments so our pelvis can expand but the hormone is not limited to the pelvis it is working on all the ligaments in the body and they tend to swell causing the carpal tunnel like pain. I reccomend that you ice the affected area to reduce inflammation and then try doing wrist and forearm stretches throughout the day I also think stretching the shoulders are important when you look at the muscles that mimic carpal tunnel syndrome they can be coming all the way from your shoulder blade or sometimes your neck. Try massages if you are able to find time. Massage will release the muscles and provide range of motion to the joints as well as flush out any built up fluids in the joints that could be causing pressure on nerves and ligaments. Drink plenty of water. Try these and let me know how you are doing. (I've been a massge therapist for 8 years and I concentrate on neuromuscular therapy and pain relief. I worked with many clients who had 'true' carpal tunnel and all these work well.) Obviously we can't do much about the hormone release but you can sure try to relieve some of the discomfort.

Thank you so much for responding to my pole about supplementing. I am concerned about going abck to work though, Iknow I can pump but I work in sales and it's pretty demanding. Do you have any suggestions for moms going back to work? I wish I had more time with my newborn but instead the state only gives us 6 weeks after they're born. Of course that's right when you start learning what your child needs and then you have to go back to work and change everything you just learned =( Thank you for all your help!
