This
forum helps me retain my sanity as I've been on rest since I learned
that I was pregnant. I lost my baby girl on October 5, 2007 due to what
doctors believe was an incompetent cervix. The diagnosis was not
clear-cut in my situation since I had minor contractions and cramping
prior to the miscarriage. I am currently 12w 5d pregnant and hoping and
praying all goes well this time. Here's wishing everyone all the very
best in their journey to motherhood.

Wednesday, 11 June Hi VY, I did have a McDonald stitch I had it placed when I was 10 weeks. My surgery went well and had contractions after 48 hours (which is normal) My peri gave me Procardia to use as needed. I really wasn't confined to bedrest but I modified my activiy level. I never had any pain associated with my stitch, but I did continuosly have urinary infections which I always had treated ASAP. My stitch was placed very tight and my cervix remained closed and long. When I had my c-section it took my OB 25 minutes to remove it and once he did, I dilated 4cm. My pregancy would have never lasted 37 weeks without the cerclage. Thoughou my pregnancy I made many trips to L&D my doctor was always happy to teat me, but the nurses seem like they had a problem with me coming. I now believe my trips to L&D was the reason I have a healthy baby today. ALWAY TRUST YOUR BODY, AND MAKE AS MANY TRIPS TO YOUR DOCTOR OR L&D AS YOU FEEL NECESSARY, AND ALWAYS HAVE THEM CHECK YOUR CERVIX.
I hope this helps you out.
