Well, my husband and I started to try to conceive again in December although we have not used birth control since my son was born (8 months). I really can't believe we are trying this early considering I had an awful pregnancy and delivery with Walker, but he is soooo wonderful that I want to go through it again!! I went to see my fertility specialist and he wants me to wait till August to see if I can get pregnant on my own without clomid. It took us 2 years trying to get Walker and we used clomid. This time I am not in a huge hurry, but I would like to get pregnant by next December. I want my children to be close in age, if possible. The specialist said that you are supposed to be more fertile after giving birth. After 8 months of no protection it seems like we are back where we started before we had Walker. We'll see!
My Birth Story
At 28 weeks I was teaching and began to have contractions. I was very scared because I knew it was way to early to have him. My principal rushed me to the doctor where I found out I was having contractions 2 minutes apart and they were changing my cervix. After 12 hours they finally stopped and I went home with terbutaline to try and keep them away. I was put on complete bed rest until 35 weeks. It was so hard because I could only lay on my left side all day long. I was only allowed to shower two times a week and could only get up to use the bathroom. At 35 weeks I was hospitalized with severe migraines, high blood pressure and extreme swelling. I gained 10 pounds of water weight in one week! They kept me under observation waiting for me to turn pre-eclamptic. It didn't happen so they released me at 36 weeks. Three hours after releasing me my water broke! We rushed back to the hospital and I after 16 hours of labor I turned eclamptic. They made me push for 3 hours with no progress and put me on magnesium sulfate. That drug is pure hell! It makes you severly nauseated and feels like your skin is burning off your body. I began to vomit blood and urinate blood so my doctor decided to do an emergency c-section. During my c-section, my pain meds kept wearing off....it was awful. The doctor said that Walker's feet was stuck under my rib cage and thought he would have to cut me longways instead of the normal way. At 11:25 on June 28th Walker was born a month early. He was 8 pounds 12 ounces and 22 and a half inches long. It was a very painful delivery, but he was so worth it!
