I don't know how many weeks ago you had given birth, but I was bleeding on and off for up 6 weeks post partum. And just like you when I thought I was done-- it started up again. Then I went a week and then got my first period since baby. So, it's been alot of bleeding. I hope this helps, depending on how far along you are. If you still are conerned call your ob/gyn or midwife.

Hey ! Thanks for adding me also! I too am not pumping at night. And for the same exact reason. I am exhausted, and my husband gets up at 500 in the morning for work, and he drives alot too. We have about the same schedule. My first pump is at 6 in the morning and before I would get 4oz, but now? Only 2. Isn't that weird? Your first pump ur suppose to yield more, so I don't know why mine cut in half! Then I try to pump every 2 or 3 hours in between. My last pump is between 11-1130. The yield varies. Sometimes I'll get as much as 4oz in a sitting, and sometimes not even a full once. It's so frustrating. I too am torn, and at times feel like giving up. But then it's so beneficial for both us and the babies! I want her to get as much of the beneficial factors of breastmilk, and it decreases our chances of certain cancers, and let's be honest. Gives me hope on a quicker weight loss. [ Even though the weight loss has been at a stand still since she was a month old ]. I'm continuing to take the fenugreek but really am just lost at what to do. Pumping sucks!!

Hi !

I saw your post on exclusively pumping, and I've been doing that since my daughter was born. She's now 7 weeks. She had a reallly bad latch on in the beginning which prompt me to pump rather then nurse, but then her latch got better, but then she was so used to the instant gratification of a synthetic nipple that she often became very cranky and frantic when after sucking nothing came out. I don't know if it's because I'm just pumping, but my milk supply has been very low. I've had to supplement with formula increasingly. I've started taking fenugreek supplements, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I'd love to keep in touch and see how the pumping goes for you! Please keep in touch!

Drink lots of liquids especially water and milk.
Try not to get emotional in any way. You give everything to your baby through your milk and stress and emotions will cause you to loose milk supply! Oh yea and a healthy diet also will help keep up milk supply. The more you pump throughout the day the more you will produce. I try to pump at least every 2hrs. Hope this helps.

nope he hates the football hold:( I wish he would but he will only cradle

I had the same convo with my hubby two weeks ago about feeling like I was failing. He put it into perspective for me, which at the time, emotionally I was unable to do. That was when I switched to pumping. After a couple weeks of that, my baby's latch seems to be better since I have tried nursing again. I was surprised! I still am trying to bottle feed most feedings because I know that he will get full and not be hungry 10 mins later. I just like being able to see how much he is eating. Anyway, try not to beat yourself up but I do know how you feel. The point is you are trying your best and even if she gets just a little breast milk like she has already, it is still great. Anyway, let me know if the tea works for you. I would be interested in finding out how to increase my milk.

Yes! In the hospital, the nurse told me to nurse using the football hold, since baby couldn't latch well. I pile pillows by my side, and lay baby under my arm on the side that he's nursing (second black and white picture on breastfeeding page). The only problem is, sometimes when I letdown, he almost drowns in milk...I have to pull him off for a minute till he's ready again. But it works great!

Hey, no prob! I don't mind answering questions. I pump maybe 4 or 5 times a day and that is including once in the middle of the night. Depending on how "full" I am it may take 20 or 30 minutes. I pump till I can't get any more out. It helps towards the end to massage your breasts to make more come out. So far I have done okay with this and my milk has not gone down any but everyone is different. I am just trying not to stress the feedings too much, as long as this method is working, then great but if I have to switch to formula later, then so be it. I was beating myself up about it at first, even though my first born was solely forumla fed and she is very healthy. I decided to give BF a try this go-round and at first I was so sad it was not going well. Part of that, I think were the "Baby Blues". That passed, though, and now I am just doing the best I can but I know it is more important for me to be happy and non-stressed than forcing the BF thing, if it isn't working for me. Anyway, sorry for the novel :) Take care, let me know if you need anything else. Good luck!! Let me know how it goes for ya.

My milk supply hasn't really gone down, I just am not sure if it will be able to keep up as baby eats more. I may have to BF or pump more frequently or supplement with formula. Right now I am staying about 2 bottles ahead of him and he is drinking 4 oz. at a time.

PS. Beautiful little girl, love her name too!

I like Jaxon as well!! :) The spelling is unusual, like Jaxin, and I just love that. We get lots of compliments on his name. That is nice hubby fed the baby so you could rest. Hope that helped. I am really tired. I am pumping around 2 or 3 every morning when the baby wakes up. I prefer him to get a bottle in the middle of the night b/c it is quicker than BF, so my hubby will get up and do that while I pump. Some people would think that is crazy, but it works better for me. Hope things get easier, it is stressful, I know.

I had TONS of pain the first couple weeks of breastfeeding. I even got a yeast infection which made having my baby on me unbearable. I was however, able to pump and that helped me tremendously, physically and emotionally. I no longer felt like I was the sole feeder of the baby and felt a little less "trapped" and my nipples had an easier time with the pump. My son is almost 4 weeks old and I just put him back on my breast yesterday to see how it went. My nipples were much better. I am still going to pump and BF sometimes. I even give him some Enfamil maybe once a day. I had read somewhere to remember that there is not just breastfeeding and formula feeding, there are other steps in between that are still great for your baby. That made me feel better. Anyway hope that helps some.

AHH!! Congrats Mamma!!! :-D

Since it looks like Dylan is being used for a girls name I'd def change the spelling to something more feminine.
I'd might be harder than I think, but I'll give it a try..
Dylanne
Dyline
Dilanne
Dilynne
Dilynn
Dilyn

Hope this helps. I'm considering Adaline, Adeline, Adelynne, Adalynn, Adalynne

Good luck. Think hard! You don't want name remorse...

Hello hun, just wanted to say that I dont think you are being funny in how you are feeling.....im from week 37 and got told a coupld of weeks ago that im having a baby over 10lb! I too totally freaked out and then elt terribly guilty for getting upset....this is my first baby and im sooo scared of the birth now instead of being excited...although im trying to change that! ive also been told that the hospital will let me go overdue which to me seems crazy, its my body and yet I have no say so over it.....if you wanna chat feel free to message me.... :-)

KevinsMilf08 - Saturday, 10 May
Yes! Mine are exactly the same as you describe for yourself. They seem to get a little more intense and as soon as I begin to think "hey, maybe this is it??" they just totally stop. It's been going on for the past few days and no matter what I do, they always disappear after about 2 or so hours. It's really frustrating. But hopefully it means that the engines are trying to start! I'll be thinking of you!!! :0) Let me know if you go into labor!
