Hi, My name is Wendy and I am 22 years old and pregnant with my first baby. It is really exciting as most of you know. This website looks really cute and fun!!
Monday, 11 Feb
I went to the doctor today and he did an ultrasound. He says that it is a boy but he could be wrong. I `m still hoping it is a girl, but either way I am just happy to be a mother soon! We will have an official ultrasound on 2/26 and we should be able to see then!

Today I went and had my glucose test. I got the fruit punch flavor and it didn't taste as bad as I thought or had read about, it tasted like watered down juice of gatorade. I find out the results tomorrow. Well they will call me if there is anything wrong.

Monday, 12 May We paid for our 4D ultrasound. I just figure it is a once in a life time experience. Mine was strictly for entertainment and I'm really glad we paid to have it done. The pictures are amazing and something we can show her when she is older. The only reason I know how much she weighs is because I had to have another US to see if my placenta was still low. No more US for me though... I just have to wait until she is born now. BabyBennett -
Monday, 12 May We paid for ours, just to have the experience. Our doctor's office (whom I'm beginning to think is very conservative) will not give us any information on the baby as they keep saying how inaccurate everything really is. I guess the weights that they get from the u/s's can be up to 1.5 pounds off in either direction. I guess they can tell all they really need to know from the 20 week u/s and your belly measurements and such from then on. Our doctor does not even look at the 3D u/s pics. They repeatedly state that it is for our entertainment only. :( bethk -
Sunday, 11 May Oh forgot to say im in the UK and paid £125 so $250!! bethk -
Sunday, 11 May Hi! Yes u do have to pay for the 3/4D scan but its soo worth it! AMazin to see how my baby has developed and its little features! Some Dr's will tell u weight/size too! I havent been told weight, size etc! I went to a private place and the person wasnt a Dr so couldnt tell me :-( They can feel if baby is too big or small anyways so Im not worried but would have been nice to be told!! Good luck!! brandilla -
Sunday, 11 May I had to pay for my 3d/4d ultrasound. Mine cost $170, but was 2 hours away and I spent $30 in gas, so about the same price as yours. For me, as much as I love seeing my baby, it was a huge disappointment. He's breech, and my placenta was right over his face, so I couldn't get any face shots :( But, a lot of people get gorgeous pictures, so if you can afford it, I would go for it. From what I understand, they won't order another ultrasound for you unless there is a problem. So if you want to be guaranteed to see your baby again, you should go with the 3d/4d. But that being said, I was told they're best between 28-32 weeks.. I don't really know why though. My doctor has ordered another ultrasound for me in 2 weeks becuase at 31 weeks, I'm measuring 36.5 weeks! So, we've got to make sure he's not huge and has nothing wrong with him. Good luck though with whatever you decide! mrssection8 -

Friday, 2 May Wow! I'm glad and surprised at the amount of people are with me on this! I agree with you and most Doctors don't care. My Mom said since day one she never took them and she never even help a child before me at all! So if she can do it pfft this should be easy LOL Thanks for your comment. How's your pregnancy going? lisa*andy -

Wednesday, 26 Mar I completely understand about the hubby situation. I enjoy EVERY kick/hit my little boy gives me. And just like ur hubby; mine would say the same thing. It must be a man-thing. But deep down we know they're excited ;-) jacsbaby -
Wednesday, 26 Mar I know how you feel about your hubby not appearing to be as amazed as us about all the kicks, we are now pregnant with no.2 and my hubby is the same. but he adores his little boy and couldnt be a better Dad and I am sure he will be the same again and so will yours It must be a Man thing! congrats with your baby and good luck !. ntsparkes -

Wednesday, 26 Mar I couldn't help but chuckle when I read your comment about your husband not being into 'feeling' the baby...my husband is the same way...we have 2 nephews and lots of friends with kids, and he absolutely adores them...and he's always said that he can't wait for us to get pregnant and have our own, so I just figured the same as you, he'd be all over me and would want to experience every little thing...nope...I was wrong...he says he doesn't want to 'hurt the baby'!! lol...Guys are just weird!!:) sbrittc2000 -

Thursday, 13 Mar Thanks for the help with my cold. My kids had pink eye and ear infections and my oldest had a chest infection on top of it all, so my Doc put me on antibiotics....was really nervous to take them but he didn't want me getting worse and getting what my boys had. So we are all on meds nad starting to feel more human again. The baby doesn't seem pdased as he never stops kicking!!! Hope you are feeling better. Thanks again. caracaya -
Wednesday, 12 Mar I have been able to see my belly move and bumps come out from little kicks since week 20. You are not necessarily further along just because you can see you belly bounce around. It appears the earliest u/s estimate is the most reliable due date. unless you know the exact conception date. Good luck. BabyBennett -
Sunday, 9 Mar I generally HATE baby shower games, but one that I actually find to be fun is baby present bingo. Each person has a blank bingo card and writes a present in each box that they think you may receive. Since they know what they got you (and usually what someone else bought) they feel like they have a head start on the game. And it takes place while you are opening gifts so it really doesn't add to the total time of the shower at all. Another one that I've seen is that other moms write suggestions to the new mom on a punched 3 x 5 card and one person dangles them from ribbons of varying lengths on a pretty hanger. You end up with a cute decoration & you get all the suggestions you may want to try if baby is colicky, cranky, or sick.
