Im from 2 months and read your comment on circs. My son had a plasti-bell and u did not have to do anything for it. I fell off in about 6 days. With other circs i think u use vasiline. Also my son had a litacane shot befor the procedure.

Oh and dont pull the skin back ~ we didnt, only wiped it clean and added vaseline ~ if you pull the skin back you are effecting the healing process. I would never pull the skin back more then it is as it is healing ~

TX :) the nerve endings arent fully connected meaning they are still forming and only partially thee. There is some discomfort but not to the degree a mamle has when done later. I didnt say there is no feeling at all, just far less. I'm not the only one who has shared it on the boards over the months I've been on the boards. Many have shared the same facts. I've seen one done ~ my SIl saw both her kids done. My son that did cry started screaming just from the straps and being held down ~ and his cry did not get worse or change for the procedure. I recall a mom also on i-am-pregnant who opted to witness also and to her surprise her son slept through it as well. The topicals help alot. Docs do not do them without topicals ~ If they do I was told by the hospital (I asked about it) the moms and dad can ask for it to be used anyways. We had our boys done when they were about 2-3 days old.

Hello i saw your comment about circumcison and my son took about a day or 2 till he didnt feel any pain. but you have to make sure that you pull the skin back till it heels and i had to do that for about 2 weeks but my poor boy had to get it done 2 times because they didnt take enough skin the first time:o( but good luck

Hi,
I have to arrive at the hospital at 5:30 and my c-section is schedule for 7:30. They will do blood work, and get your epidural, IV, and catheter started before surgery. I had a c with my daughter and this was done right before surgery.

melonee - Monday, 21 Jan
good luck with your Csection!!

Indelible - Sunday, 20 Jan
I'd love a huge glass of wine!! Or maybe two or three. :)

devin - Thursday, 17 Jan
Hi! Good luck with your C-Section. I packed a couple of changes of underwear (that I'll probably throw out,) a going home outfit (comfy maternity clothes,) a nursing bra and pads, maxipads, flip flops for the shower, some snacks, (trail mix...) ipod, and a blanket for the baby. Hope that helps!

i think if you skip the protein you're going to be low on energy and you don't want that for you or the baby (since they just keep on a'growing). i'd keep eating a balanced diet and check w/ your doc/midwife on any plans to change. and wow, 9 days - wooohooo!

Februarymommy - Monday, 14 Jan
I would just eat a normal balanced diet right now. If you are having a c-section, protein from animal product will help you heal faster. Protein and calcium is also very important for the baby at this point. I would first consult with your doctor before starting a new eating pattern.

Hey congrats to you too!! I'm sure it won't hurt! I've never had one so I can't say! Good Luck!

A catheter goes in your bladder! In other words it goes in 'you know where'!! Good Luck!!!!

Wendy at the pregnacy class that Hubby and I attended they said that the placenta starts to fail after 40 to 41 weeks. I've also read that in several books. I've been a pregnancy info junkie ever since I found out I was pregnant. Anyway now a days they watch the placenta very carefully to make sure it's still doing it's job where in the past they would let poor moms go to 44 and 46 weeks and the baby would come out green and ill - those days are long gone. At 38 weeks the placenta will still be nourishing your little one. Hope that helps.

heathershreves22 - Wednesday, 2 Jan
HEY WENDY, IF THat were true about the placenta, i dont think our dr. would keep our babies in and if there is any truth at all to that its must not be a problem since baby's are born everyday fine lol! i have heard something like that about post term babys though past 41 weeks
