A little background
I have two beautiful girls, Krysta 10 and Mollie 3, my husband and I found out we were pregnant sometime in October 2007 and we had a m/c in December our world was shaken but my faith was not. We found out in the beginning of Feb 2008 that we were expecting again and our world was worried and not sure what was going to happen. We are delighted to say we are now in our 13th week and all is going well so far. I did an intelligender test on the 9th March and it said we were having a girl but we will see I will feel better with an u/s confirmation.
I have had the first ultra sound which put us at 8 weeks and 5 days just 3 days behind where I thought I was. I have my next appointment with the midwife on the 23rd April 2008, and then my 20 week scan and then we have booked a private 4D scan in July and am really looking forward to everything. I am easy going and slow at getting more photos up and the time aspect also takes over there lol. I wish all of you ***BABYDUST*** who are trying and ***STICKYDUST*** to those who are pregnant and I wish you all the happiness in the world xoxox

WHERE ARE YOU???? Missing you!!!!

sparklyval - 29.7 hours ago
Hi Kat! Thanks so much for your lovely long message. Finally got enough time to reply properly! Also, thank you for your well wishes with regard to my short-lived illness. I have been fine ever since Friday, so nothing major thank goodness. I am still getting pain in my lower back and hips, but I can live with it - it is more uncomfortable than anything and varies from day to day.

Good luck with your assessments later this evening! I will be thinking of you!

With regard to the hurtful comments about bump size, I am going to try to think up some witty replies to tell people when they make the 'are you sure its not twins' comments.
One of my colleagues at work is expecting a baby 3 days before me which is really strange timing. We were comparing pregnancy details today (its the first time I have seen her in several weeks). She doesn't look as big as me at all and yet her first baby was 9lbs like mine was. I guess women just carry babies differently...you expect everyone to be the same, but nature doesn't work that way. I don't know why the general population can't recognise that fact!! Radiant is a great word - I love it! I think all pregnant women should be told they are radiant every day!!

Sorry to hear about your problem finding maternity clothes and also about your EBay dispute. I hope that gets sorted out quickly. I have bought a few things from EBay sellers and luckily everything has been ok. I have also been very extravagent and bought myself some new clothes to wear, which I feel a bit guilty about because I know how little time I will be wearing them for. I am hoping they will keep well enough to re-sell on EBay after this pregnancy. Most shops seem to charge such a lot for maternity clothes - it is ridiculous the amount of money that some places want you to pay just for a top. However, I have found that the maternity selection in our local New Look store is very good. I bought a really pretty top this week and a cropped cardigan and both came to less than £30, which is the price that some stores charge for one thing. I wish I could make clothes - I have always been completely hopeless when it comes to sewing. I can just about cope with sewing the badges on to my daughter's brownie uniform....that is my lot really! Good luck with your clothes searching....

I bet you are really excited about your holiday - that is quite soon now! Its a shame that you have to go without your DH, but I totally understand the issues about paternity leave. Antony will only get 1 paid week of paternity leave and so he is keeping as much holiday for when the baby is born as possible. We had already booked a couple of weeks holiday at the end of August/beginning of September before we found out about the pregnancy, so we are going to keep that holiday. It will use up a chunk of Ant's holiday allowance, but I think it will be good to have that bit of family holiday time before the baby comes...it will be the last relatively 'easy' holiday for a while!!
I have been busy over the weekend doing some gardening - planting up some troughs and baskets with flower plants and a couple of baskets with trailing tomato plants. Antony is getting a piece of the garden ready to plant some vegetables in. We have bought some seeds and are going to see what happens!! We have only ever grown runner beans in the past, so it will be interesting to see how we get on with some other types of veg.

How have things been with you? I hope you are feeling ok? Have you been thinking about your scan next week yet or does it still seem a long way off? I can't believe that I will be 20 weeks tomorrow. Time is definitely going much more quickly now. Only two days until my scan!!

I will write again on Thursday after the scan and let you know how it went. Hope all is ok with you and your family. Val x

Hey Sweetie...sorry to hear about your nan!! Big hugs and snuggles!! That must have been so hard - especially in our super hormonal state. What is wrong with your mother's family?? I can't believe that they would do that to you?? An embarassment?? Pooh on them! You're too good for them!!

I'm doing well now (32 weeks). Last week I had a bit of a scare...I had to spend a day in the hospital because of some bleeding. Everything is fine though and we're both very healthy and doing well. It was nice to see him again on the ultrasound and see how BIG he's gotten!! He's also such an active boy....but man his movements are getting painful!!

WEnt a little crazy this past weekend shopping...it was my first baby shopping spree and I did well...Got so many things and at such a good price. Down in the states at the discount mall at Carters....such nice clothes and great quality. I even got a fabulous diaper bag - that doesn't look like a diaper bag!! I'm soooo excited toa ctually start using this stuff!!

My move went fantastic...I LOVE my new place...it already feels like home!! I'm so comfortable there and Cole's nursery is almost done!! Getting a little scared about labour though and all that pain...I'm going for a natural birth but with as many drugs as they will give me!!

I'm glad to hear the pregnancy is going well and hope that you got the house next door to set your business up!!!! Much love always!! xoxoxox

WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!

Coylton Gail - 36.6 hours ago
Hi! Thanks for adding me! Congratulations on being pregnant again! Hope everything continues to go well! This is my first pregnancy, I'm at 23 weeks now, but those first weeks were such a worry!!

judi - Monday, 19 May
I'm in Australia, so just woke up. Time to start getting the kids ready for school.
I agree it's nice to find out if you're having a boy or girl, because you get to name him/her, and bond a bit more. Wish you luck on the 29th. My u/s was 2 weeks ago, and the technician said it's a girl. But then my doctor, when I saw him a few days later, said she shouldn't have told us that, because scans are not 100% accurate. Gee, I'd still rather know! Even if it is just a guess or a "probably" but the technician was very definite about it. My doctor's just strange. Might be worried about litigation for wrong info, I guess.
Anyway, hope you've had a nice day. Not really sure what our time difference is. Where abouts in England are you?

rach23 - Monday, 19 May

judi - Monday, 19 May
I saw your story about the sick kid in the cafe, and child's mother didn't want to clean it up. That's just weird. My most embarrassing moment with a toddler was he had diarrhea and it went down his leg in the middle of a computer store. I first asked the shop assistant for some paper towels or something, then a bathroom so I could clean up the little one. Then had another go at the mess on the floor. After profuse apologies from me, we went home. Yes, it's the mother's responsibility to clean up after her kids. Of course.

rach23 - Monday, 19 May
hi to let you now pics are up at last i am sooooo clever lol

i go for u/s tomorrow so will let you know tomorrow hopefully if g or b x

rach23 - Sunday, 18 May
hi yes i too would clean it up after making sure my child was ok for a min, if they were sick at home you would clean up after them its our job being in a cafe is no different thats my view anyway hope your pregnancy is going well and was the test right :)

kittykat13 - Sunday, 18 May
Hi! Thanks for your reply! I talked to my OB's nurse and I guess it is carpal tunnel and there isn't much I can do about it, aside from tylenol, heating pads, and position changes. It's definitely uncomfortable having to deal with this all day every day.....lucky its only temporary :-)

MelisaK - Saturday, 17 May
Hey! My first week with no classes and I still do not have anything accomplished! I have been busy but a little lazy. I hope you are still feeling well. Do you have a myspace account? If you do let me know. I really need to be cleaning...just not motivated today. I am going to go to the store here in a while. I will be 30 weeks on monday and I am starting to freak out a little...I still have so much to do!!! I sure wish you lived closer! Oh well, enough of my rambling!

sparklyval - Friday, 16 May
Hi Kat, thanks for your msg. I have been just so busy this week...well, at least it helps the time to pass quickly. I should be at work today, but I have phoned in sick. Yesterday I had really bad stomach pains and felt sick all day. I didn't manage to eat much and thought that it was going to turn in to a stomach bug (there seems to be quite a lot of things passing around the school at the moment). I felt so awful going to bed last night that I decided it was best to stay at home today. So I rang in to work first thing this morning and have felt fine ever since! Now I feel really guilty that I am not at work....although I have got bad back ache and pain in my hips, which is stopping me from bending over properly, so maybe a restful day will help! Both the girls are at school/nursery so for once I have the house (and the computer to myself) LOL!

I am glad to hear that you are managing to get on top of a few jobs at home - it always makes me feel pleased when I can get up to date with the housework, tidying, ironing etc. I am impressed to hear that you are doing your NVQ and hope the assessment all went smoothly. I can imagine how stressful it must be - any test or exam, especially if you are being watched, is tough.

My scan is a week before yours - on Thursday 22nd. I am counting down the days!! I will let you know how it goes. I feel more relaxed now that I can feel the baby move every day - it is reassuring to feel him/her move. I am hoping that he/she is co-operative at the scan. It would be good to be able to find out the sex of the baby.

Well, we are only half way through and I am already geting fed up with people's comments (sorry to have a good old whinge!). Yesterday I was walking along through the village where I live and I walked past a lady I know and she said 'wow are you sure its not twins!'. I know that I was wearing a pretty large and baggy jacket, but it made me feel like I must look enormous. I have had so many comments from people about looking big, or if they want to be more diplomatic 'blooming'. It does get to you. I never comment about how big or small other pregnant ladies are because I know how upsetting it can be - to be told 'wow you look small for your dates' must be just as bad. GRRR
I tend to tell people how well they look, becuase I always think that people that are pregnant do look well. I wish people could be a bit more thoughtful. To think that I will have this for anothre 4 1/2 months!!
Sorry, sorry for going on.....I promise no more!

I am glad the weather is a little bit cooler now. I thought we were in for a 3 month heat wave! How did you get on with your car MOT? I hope that it hasn't cost you too much. I am fed up with how much our car costs. Stupidly I never learnt to drive when I was younger, so we only have one car between us that my husband drives. I guess in some respects I am glad that is the case as the one car costs enough!!

While I am off work I guess I should do a couple of jobs. I can use the chance to catch up with a few things! I hope you have been keeping ok. Have a good weekend. Val x

xxlollyxx - Friday, 16 May
omg i just wrote u out a big comment them my pc crashed! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Well i foned the doc and theyve no appts but he spoke to me on the fone, when i went to pee there was blood in my urine so i told him that, and hes told me to triple my antibiotic dose( i take antibiotics everyday as my kidneys failed when i was 5yrs old!so they help prevent infections but since getting pregnant they told me only to take 1 a day, but doc says to take 3 a dfay for next 5 days then take a sample in and he'll test it!
