Thursday, 19 June Oh how I wish I could drink milk. I developed an allergy to it while pregnant. One other girl on this forum has the same food aversions that I have since she got pregnant--no milk, no nuts, no garlic! She and I share some mystery, hormones? food tastes? who knows. Enjoy your yummy milk. judi -
Thursday, 19 June Well that's great news about your blood work results! Congratulations! You must be really looking after yourself.
Skin cancers are ever so common here in Australia, and the type I had removed is a Basal Cell Carcinoma which is not a particularly nasty kind. Needs to be cut off, but it's not life-threatening or anything. My Dad's been having various types of skin cancers cut off him for as long as I can remember; he's over 80 now and the health problems he has are nothing to do with skin cancer. Anyway, the doctor said that the pathology report indicated they got it all, so that should be the end of that.
My GTT is scheduled for the 7th July, a few days before my 28 week antenatal. I'm a bit worried as blood tests sometimes show that I have a low renal threshold, which tends to show up as though I have diabetes but further testing is always negative. Just means I have to be a bit careful with eating a lot of sweet stuff. My Mum and twin sister are the same.
Anyway, the weeks seem to be clicking by nicely. I don't feel ever so uncomfortable overall, and am mostly enjoying being pregnant, especially knowing this will be my last. Sorta savoring it a bit, although I also sometimes do feel very impatient to be finally nursing my little one.

I'm up nice and early this morning (it's just after 6am) so should be an easy Friday morning. Only one of the kids is up so far, so I best go fix him some breakfast.

Thursday, 19 June Your scans are pretty neat. I love looking at scans. MooMommy -
Thursday, 19 June Hello my darlng...jsut wanted to let you know that i'm officially on mat leave and having a terrible time sitting at my computer...i'm go go go.....don't feel ignored...there is still much love and thoughts for you....I just seem to have so muchto do and take care of....I hope that you are feeling better and that things are going smoother for you!! (you need a vacation from your vacation!!) xoxoxoxo sparklyval -
Thursday, 19 June Hello Kat, sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling so good. I hope that you are on the mend. I thought all that coastal air and envigorating walks along the beach would have been great for the health! I gather you suffer from asthma? My hubby has asthma although his meds control it quite well....he doesn't tend to get too many attacks any more. He gets a bit worse this time of the year though due to the pollen in the air. It doesn't help that we live in front of a big hay meadow!
Holidays can sometimes prove to be exhausting. One of my friends husbands described going on holiday with kids as 'the same shit, different location!' I think what he meant was that there is no escaping the usual jobs that come with having a family. It must have been hard the first week on your own with the girls. At least you will be getting back to normal now.
You are brave getting involved with the PTA and having the school fair so close to your due date! The police and fire service often come to the summer fair here at our school. This year it didn't really work out so well because of the weather but I think the school still raised about £1000 which was good for school funds.
I am glad to hear that you are a fan of desperate housewives too. The characters from the show are so believable. I am looking forward to watching the second half of this series later this year.
What did you get up to on Father's day? Unfortunately for us the day didn't work out quite as we had planned! We ended up in the casualty department on Sunday morning. We stayed away at a travelodge near Tamworth on Saturday night so that we could visit Twycross Zoo (I think that is fairly near to you isn't it?) on Sunday. We were just getting ready to leave the lodge on Sunday morning when my husband said 'hey, what's happened to my knee?' - it had a huge swelling just below the kneecap. Consequently we had to go to the nearest hospital and spent two hours there while he got examined and x-rayed. Thankfully it wasn't anything too serious - something called bursitis which is swelling caused by a fluid sac behind the knee bursting. But sadly we didn't manage the zoo trip! It wasn't quite what my husband was hoping for on Father's Day!! We did manage to salvage the day a bit by going out for a nice meal in the evening....we will plan for the zoo trip later in the summer! He had a few nice presents too that the girls had helped me sort out for him, so he wasn't too miserable!! I hope that your Father's day turned out to be less stressful!!
We are not doing so good with names either. We have stuck on Erin Iris for the moment. I am guessing that may end up being 'the' name as we can't think of anything better. I quite like the name Charlie!! I would have liked to have called a little boy Charlie if I had one. I also like Alfie and Harvey. I am not much help to you really - we never did manage to settle on boys names properly last time around...it is a good job Kate was a girl as we really liked her name and it seemed so easy to choose. Bethan would have been called Jacob if she had been a boy, but I have a nephew called Jacob now, so that would be out!! Good luck....it isn't easy!
Hope you are having a good week. Val x
PS - just seen your message and belly pics. I think you are very brave for taking some. I haven't quite dared to take a photo without clothes ... too many stretch marks from last time. I look like a snakes and ladders board! Size-wise you look pretty similar to me, so don't go worrying. People keep saying 'wow there's no disguising you are pregnant now is there!?' Just keep smiling.

Thursday, 19 June Besides the grumbling appendix, I'm glad to hear all is well with you...I have been sore, in pain and feeling pressure for as long as I can remember and the closer I get to the finish line the more relieved I feel...I'm in my 26th week so I'm trying my best to take it as easy as possible...It isn't easy when you have a household to run, a six year old with demands and a husband who works as hard as my husband works...I feel blessed...Today we went to get pedicures and it was my husband's first time so he was reluctant to get one but after he watched me get one and once he saw how relaxed I looked, he went for it...The funny part is that he thanked the guy who worked on his feet claiming he felt so light on his feet...lol...He has vowed to make the trip with me every 2 weeks for a pedicure...It was alot of fun because it was like getting my nails done with my best friend! Have you ever did anything like that with your mate? Hope all is well, keep me posted! judi -
Wednesday, 18 June Are you sure you're not anemic? That kind of lethargy sounds like it's worth getting your iron levels checked. Make sure you eat red meat at least 4 or 5 times a week.
Yeah, eBay is sometimes a pain in the neck, but most people I've dealt with (buyers and sellers) are nice, and I've even made friends with some, where we keep in touch for months after the transaction, sending personal emails. It's nice.
Hope you managed to get through dinner and catch an early night, and hopefully feel a little better this morning. I'm off to the doctors as soon as I get these kids off to school, to take the stitches out where he cut off a little skin cancer last week. I also might ? have the glucose test. Not sure.
I'll catch up later. * Hugs * xxxx beks1978 -

my belly looks the same :) gr8scottswife -
Wednesday, 18 June It is very good to sound out the name aloud several times before pinning it on your child. My bbf can't stand the way her dh pronounces their son's name. She wishes she would have named the child a different name and asked her husband to say it aloud several times.
I'm carrying very low, too. I do not know what we are having, yet. I will know July 10, hopefully. Until then the official name is Thumper.
As far as choosing a name, our boy name was easy and we knew within the first week of knowing we are pregnant. Jonathan Teddy "J.T." Ulrich after our dads. The girl name is like you said--way too many cute ones to choose from. My favorite name is Ada Taylor, but my husband said no. We both like Lila, but I have several other names I like tremendously, too. If we go with Lila for a girl (if we are having a girl), we are having a hard time deciding on the middle name, and the choices are: Lila Claire, Lila Elise, or Lila Rose. What do you think? gr8scottswife -
Wednesday, 18 June Joseph is a solid, nice-sounding name. You can't go wrong with that one. Did you carry your girls low or high? gr8scottswife -
Wednesday, 18 June BTW, I really like your girls' names, very pretty. gr8scottswife -
Wednesday, 18 June
You seem to be carrying really low. gr8scottswife -

Since you've had two already, it's probably typical. cherylm -
Wednesday, 18 June I had my scan done on May 23rd and found out I was having a girl . Its funny because you thought you were having a girl and I was convinced I was having a boy. (I really wanted a girl) but either way is GREAT!!!
I am so excited about registering this week..... Congrats on the boy any names picked out yet?? We are going with Mackenzie!! Hope all is well.. judi -
Wednesday, 18 June Good morning! It's just on dinner time here! My calf muscles have been achy all day, and I've been having a heck of a time with my eBay account. Someone "phished" it and posted stuff for sale on it that I didn't put there - two jetski things for about $8000. Thank God nobody bought them, i don't know what I would've done. I think it's sorted now, thanks to several hours of live chat help and all new passwords for everything on my computer. Uggh!!
I seem to get really really tired too. Feel like I could sleep all day long, but yet at night I lie awake. It's crazy!
Your massage sounds just delightful. Sure could go for that right about now!

Wednesday, 18 June I suffer from headaches too during this pregnancy especially with the heat...Thank God it had cooled down somewhat...I will not be doing anything crazy or strenuous because I'll be going into my third trimester in two weeks! Very excited!!! I have been experiencing pain and am anxiously awaiting my midwife appt on friday to find out if she's turned or not...At this moment she is breech so that is where I am getting all of the pain from! Hope all is well and you feel better...It's all a process of pregnancy so hang in there!
