CARSON DOUGLAS is here. Born 12/13/07!!!

12/13/08 - Carson Douglas was brought into the world by c-section, due to being breech. He weighed 7 lbs., 3 oz. and was 19 inches.

1/14/08 - Wow has time sure flown by fast! Carson is growing like crazy and eating like a horse. He eats 4-6 oz. at a feeding. He weighs approx. 9 lbs. He will be 5 weeks on Thursday and we have his month checkup this Friday. He is a good baby and isn't too fussy....BUT, he sure does have a lot of GAS. I've been giving him Mylicon gas drops in his bottles, so hopefully that starts to work soon! Breastfeeding isn't going the greatest...I had/have to use a plastic sheild because he won't latch on. So instead, I pump. I've been pumping what little breast milk I have and mixing it with formula. My c-section scar is looking good and have very little pain. I've resumed my busy life and trying to keep up with it all. I've had some days where I've been pretty tired, but that's to be expected :-) Guess that's all for now....I'll try to update again soon!!!

1/18/08 - Carson is 5 weeks and 1 day. His appointment went well this morning. He weighs 9 1/2 lbs, and is 22 1/2 inches. He goes back in a month for his shots and another checkup.

1/31/08 - Carson is 7 weeks today. He is growing soooo fast! We started giving him 1 1/2 tsp. of rice cereal in his "bedtime" bottle. The first night he slept 7 hrs. straight! He likes to try and stand. Last night we put him up against the couch and he stood all on his own against it!! I had 6 weeks off for maternity leave, came back to work for one week and now am getting temporarily laid off (for the winter) and will come back full time April 1st. I'll work 3 days a week from 8-1, so I'll have another 2 months to spend time with Carson at home!!! I think it will be good for him! He is smiling like crazy now. We're so excited to see him, his progress and his changes everyday! I love being a Mommie :-)

2/5/08 - Carson will be 8 weeks on Thursday. He has grown out of most of his newborn clothes and the 3 month clothes fit, but are a little big. We're working on a nightly bathing/eating/sleeping pattern. He gets a bath around 7:30, then gets a bottle and is usually sleeping by 8:30 and sleeps til 3 am. Then he's up to eat, back to sleep by 4 and is up again anywhere between 6-7am.

2/13/08 - Carson is 2 months old today. He is such a big boy! Yesterday he rolled up onto his side and was trying to roll onto his stomach! He seems to be getting longer all the time. We have his 2 month checkup on Monday and he gets his shots. Hopefully it will all go well!

2/19/08 - Carson had his 2 month check up yesterday and had 2 shots. He cried (who wouldn't!!). He did really well all day yesterday and wasn't too fussy. He was suppose to get a 3rd shot but it's on backorder, so we'll have to go in again for that when it comes in :-( He weighs 11 lbs. 1 oz. and is 24 inches. He is smiling more and more every day. I've also noticed that he studies us and knows who we are! I love to sit and look at him!!!

3/13/08 - Carson is 3 months old today. He is getting so big and strong!! He is a moving machine...he loves to be laid on the floor. As soon as he's down, his arms and legs start a flying!! He loves to stand up (with help). He slept thru the night on Saturday night, 8 hrs. 42 min. straight!! He is drinking 6 oz. every 2-3 hrs. It it amazing how when a person gets married to the one they love and they think that they can never love anyone even more, have a baby, and see how much it changes the love amount and how much you have for them! I never imagined how much love I could have for my little one!!

4/15/08 - Goodness, it seems like I just updated yesterday, but I see it's been a month ago already!! Carson is 4 months old and is growing so tall! He is such an alert little man. He loves to look around and see what is going on around him. He rolled over for the first time on Saturday morning in front of Daddy. So he called me and told me...when I got home, then Carson rolled over again, and again, and again.!!! He's constantly moving and rolling all over the place. He was baptised on Sunday. Everything went well and we are truly blessed to have such a wonderful healthy baby. Tomorrow he has his 4 mo. check up and shots. I am excited to see how much he has grown, but nervous about the shots!

5/1/08 - Yep, I am still amazed at how fast time flies. Carson is almost 5 months old. He's rolling all over the place! He loves to talk and is very interested in his surroundings and what is going on. He is finally getting some fuzz back where his hair fell out. We've been working on spoon feeding him cereal, once we get the hang of it, then it's on to veggies :-) At his 4 mo. checkup he weighed 13 lbs. 7 1/2 oz., and was 25 1/2 inches. His shots went as expected. He got his first cold on April 16th - poor little guy, but he made it through it like a trooper! And then Mommie got it! We're looking forward to warmer weather so we can play outside and go for walks!!

5/27/08 - Carson is doing so well! He is such a good baby! He is learning how to sit up by himself. He sits for a couple seconds and then catches himself as he leans to the side. He is also inch worming too! He'll be on his stomach and scrunch up his legs and then push...it's pretty funny to see. He is also sleeping on his stomach now. I put him down to sleep last night and as I was covering him up he rolled over on his stomach. He moves all over his crib in the night. I usually find him up against the side in the corner still on his stomach, all crouched up with his knees and arms under him and his butt up in the air LOL! We've had a couple warmer days and have spent some time outside enjoying it! I tried sunscreen on him on Sunday to see if he would break out, he did fine. So we'll try it again soon. Then we'll try the bugspray and see how that goes! We've been giving him stage 1 foods, which he is doing well with.

6/18/08 - Carson turned 6 months old on Friday the 13th! He is SO great!! He had his 6 month check up and shots today. The appt. went well, the shots - not so well (but thats expected!). He weighs 16 lbs. 2 oz. and is 27 1/2 inches. He is a GROWING boy! He is doing well on his skills - rolling, babbling, transferring objects to the other hand, etc. He also loves to stand and try to walk. Our Doctor said that he might walk before he crawls! YIKES! We are giving him stage 2 foods. He loves Squash and Sweet Potatoes!

8/5/08 - Carson will be 8 months old next week (how crazy!). He is growing every day! He has almost caught up to Addie (his cousin who is 1 month older than him). He is approx. 18 pounds now. He seems to be a picky eater. I tried to get him to try some stage 3 food last night and he didn't want any part of it. He must not like the texture or something. He is crawling all over the place now. He started on July 3rd. Last night, we think he discovered his tounge. He was sticking it out alot and making clicking noises and then he'd laugh! We also tried juice for the first time yesterday with he. He drank quite a bit of it.

8/29/08 - Carson is getting to be such a big boy. He is able to walk around the coffee table in the living room while holding onto it. He likes to crawl up to things and then stand up. He likes to get into alot of things! I feel like I'm constantly saying "no no"! He is working on getting his "first" two teeth! I can see them and I can feel one of them!! He is handling it pretty well, he hasn't been fussy much. He loves to be outside and look at everything. It seems like he studys stuff so hard. We estimate him to be 20 lbs.

9/19/08 - Carson had his 9 month appointment today. He got one shot - he was behind on one of them. He weighs 19 lbs. 11 1/2 ounces and is 29 inches and his head measurement is 46 cm. The Dr. couldn't believe how active he is! I told her he's like that all the time! Things are going good and Carson is doing well!

10/7/08 - Carson is working on his top teeth. I can see the left one and the other is still a bump. I think he says words, like I heard him say Daddy while he was in his crib one morning, but haven't heard it since, and I was talking to my Mom on the phone and I put it up to his ear and man, I could have swore he said Hello - but it was a whisper....so again, I question my hearing! He is always moving around, standing up against things, and is now starting to not hang on. We think he'll be walking soon!

10/29/08 - Carson is still working on his top right tooth, it still hasn't come through. He is going to be a pumpkin for Halloween (and his 3 teeth are perfect with the outfit). We started him on whole milk two weeks ago, mixing 2 oz. in with 6 oz. of formula. He did well so this week we started mixing half/half. We also put the milk in a sippy cup and offer it to him at supper time. He seems to be doing well with that. He is also starting to walk. He took his first steps last Thursday, about 5 of them! So we've been practicing since. He also says the words Momma, Dada, up and down. And yesterday, he said Gamma (Grandma)! He is such a blessing and is my heart, I love him so much! I can't believe he is going to be one soon, it's bittersweet.

11/24/08 - Carson is 11 1/2 months now! We're busy planning for his first birthday. We are just going to have a family get-together. He had a bout of pink eye on Nov. 4th & 5th. So we got to stay home for two days. At his appt. he weighed 21.9 lbs. He loves to eat our food now, he no longer has baby food. We do give him the Toddler snacks though. He is almost on full whole milk in his bottles too. He is doing very well with that. He is full blown walking as well. He really started that last week. He still gets a little unstable and takes some good tumbles, but manages to get back up and keep going.

Hey, ok I put those new pictures on my site. Yes, I think I am going to make Frankie an Elmo cake for his birthday too. Of course, my fingers will be Elmo red for days. The girl I carpool with asked me to make her son a Thomas the Tank Engine cake next weekend. Say hey to Bonnie for me. Is she still working? I thought she'd have talked Todd into letting her stay at home by now.

Frankie was Bamm-Bamm. I was Wilma Flintstone and Bob was Fred. My daughter even went to the party with us as a teenage Pebbles. It was fun. I bought a tshirt for Frankie on Saturday that says "I didn't do it!" I will have to get a picture and post it. it was sooooo cute! He discovered Elmo on Saturday. lol! Christmas will be a lot of fun this year I'm sure. I found a growth chart at the Christmas show here and they put his name on it. He measured at 28". Frankie is refusing baby food now and is eating hot dogs, little smokies, pancakes, lots of fruit and chicken nuggets. How about Carson?

Just saw your post on the 10-month page...My daughter will be a year old on 11/6 and she eats all table food. We give her grilled cheese sandwiches, noodles, raviolis, carrots, green beans. I could keep going on, but pretty much anything she can hold we give to her.

Say hi to Bonnie and Mia for me. See if Bonnie will do Frankie's invites for me too!! LOL! OMG, we have been working on the house just to get it READY for a party. well, my daughter graduates high school this June too so it has to be done anyway. We got the pool deck done and I'm just finished painting the living room. We have to install a new patio door since our mangy dog destroyed the current one and lay down wood floor in the living room since our "carpeting" is pretty much MATTED DOG HAIR. it's gross. and then new curtains and we are done. phew! Frankie's hair has actually been cut about 4 times now. The first time, I bagged a bunch of it and actually had to label it because it was the exact same color as my daughter's which I also have had bagged for the last 15 years. i think i'm still on Bonnie's facebook. i will give her a yell out. Take care.

Oh and Frankie is almost all blond now. The red grew out. Not like my other daughter who has had beautiful strawberry blonde hair all her life. What about Carson? Has his hair changed color?

ezakovich - Thursday, 16 October
Frankie is on full whole milk. We tried to switch him at 6 months but he wasn't getting enough iron so we went half and half. We just switched him to all whole milk about a month ago but he has vitamin supplements in his cereal. You can tell by the color of their poo if they are getting enough iron. Frankie has 6 teeth now (WAY more than any of my girls had at his age) and they are sharp little buggers. He bites when he's playing and doesn't realize it's hurting so we are just careful to try to stay away from the teeth! LOL! He's a skinny kid. He's only 50th percentile in weight and BOY are there some BIG babies out there. My goodness! I got out the girls' old red wagon last weekend and am cleaning it up for him. Some things I am glad I kept.

ezakovich - Wednesday, 15 October
hey! Yes I have a couple people like you I check for messages regularly and try to keep notes up on here because it was so nice having friends during pregnancy. Frankie is walking all over the place now. Of course, he still thinks he's a puppy. He walks carrying a ball or a little nerf football in his mouth! He likes when I chase him. he was walking away from me last night and i thumped my hands on the carpet like i was coming to get him and he started running, then fell, then crawled very fast away from me. then stopped to look to make sure i was chasing him, then started crawling fast again. he's hilarious. Just got a buzz cut and my husband says he looks like a redneck. I'll have to post a picture of this on here soon. The girls are spoiling him. We are having fun with the baby in the house. How's Carson?

Lalacore - Monday, 6 October
