Hello. I'm Becky, 26 years old, and living in San Antonio with my husband Glenn although I am originally from Maryland. I just got done doing 6 years in the Air Force and I am pretty happy to be finished and moving on. My husband is still active duty for another 2 years and will be supporting me and our new baby while I am a full time nursing student starting in August. He is really great and supportive and I know I am lucky to have him. I am pregnant with our first child due in May 2008! My lil sis is also pregnant at this time with her first child, a girl. I get to be an aunt and a mom all in one year! Glenn and I are really excited about this pregnancy. We got pregnant on our first try which kind of surprised us..I guess we just didn't think we were that fertile. We also just got married on December 23, 2007, I was 20 weeks pregnant and I looked freakin' awesome!! LOL I am taking HypnoBirthing classes as my child birth classes instead of Lamaze. Women who have used the technique claim they felt no pain during labor. It is based on guided imagery and self hypnosis. It sounds crazy to a lot of people but when you read the reviews from women who used it it's not so crazy anymore. I plan to breastfeed for 1 year (hopefully). I have my pump all ready to go for when I go back to school. We will also be doing cloth diapers until she has to go off to day care..and maybe longer if the day care mothers will go for cloth. We mainly want to save money and want to try and be "greener" as parents. I read an article that says each baby will go through an average of 7,000 diapers in their diapering lifetime and that's really crazy to think about all the money spent on disposables and all the human waste in the landfills. I get tons and tons of negative comments from other parents who say "you won't last 2 weeks on cloth"...so we'll see if we can prove them wrong. We are also going to start the baby on Sign Language as soon as she is born to help her communicate better with us during her first few years and my husband is particularly excited about this! Can't wait till she's here!!!!!

mybabymy - 27.3 hours ago
thanks for the advice. it's true, i do not really need to be as open as i have been when people ask me questions. i mean i don't have to tell anyone that i'm will be induced. i sometimes forget that i can lie or that i don't have to answer every single question nosy people ask me. :)

No they dont give internals until 41w3d - unless the think something is wrong.

Our midwives are on strike and have been for about 4 weeks, but of course they have emergency staff at the hospital still. So instead of going to my regular place I have to go without and appointment on friday when it is 40 full weeks.

Not so great sitting in line when being that pregnant. Another thing is (dont know if I already said this) that they send you home from the hospital straight after delivery unless you've had a problem of some sort.

So I am worried about never getting the breastfeeding started as I have heard it can be quite difficult.

Hopefully everything will be all okay by the time my little fella decides to come out :-)

That's a very good point! Now the you mention it, I remember the Petit Bateau stuff runs super small. I guess the little Euro babies are much thinner than the chubby U.S. babies! lol! And I see you are in Texas, so yours will be the biggest of all! ;)

Thanks for the comment, I'm going to call L&D now and see what they say. Hopefully they will take me in! Thanks again!

my dad is the kindest, gentle person but practically brain dead wen it comes to thinking about other people randomly lol.... thank god he has my mum to keep him on the straight and narrow.lol. im feeling much better tho now, and i am totally getting to a point where i feel excluded from things, my mum and dad have a poker night dowstairs every friday night you see, they all drink and smoke, so i used to join in before i got pregnant and then i quit smoking cuz i found out i was pregnant and now i cant sit there breathing in all the smoke. so thats me written out of that, i hang out with my boyfriend friends alot but now im so heavily pregnant i just cant keep up with what they are doing.. a bunch of 21yr old lads and theres heffalump me tottering about way behind lol, so i just kinda leave them now to go n have fun, it was sunny the other day tho and his mate actually made sure i came to the pub to have a nice cold drink sitting in the sunshine and it totally made my day that he took notice that its just sitting there and i might actually like to get out and chat and giggle with them lol theres another little rant for you lol. thanks for messaging me :) XX

I would like to have an internal to see if I have gotten a bit softer or just to see if anything has happened. I dont want to be induced - I dont know why everyone here seems to be getting induced.

Over here I have been told that it is a lot better for the baby to come out when he's ready - unless of course he's just lazy and doesnt seem so want to :-)

Thanks for the note. I hope not. I'm just a little intimidated because I really want to go 100% natural and I already know how hard that is with a big posterior baby. I was hoping I could finally have a normal sized baby facing the right way, but I guess that's not my destiny. At any rate, feeling much better now--hubby and I are happy she's so healthy. Thanks again for the note.

just read your comment on the other profile about baby story and the bratty girl!! LMAO!! cracking up! i totally agree as well. I think i saw an episode like that. i watch all those shows. Supernanny kills me! i get violent (figuratively of course) just watching the begining about the episode! i often cant believe how she is going to get thru! and it is ALWAYS the parents!! let me just say, my child will never....
i was so concerned about out of control children that i called my mom to talk to her about it. i dont remember being out of control as a child and my soon to be 20yrold bro was never that way either. i asked her if there was ever a time when i was young that she felt i or she was out of control like that. she said NO. she said she wouldnt allow bad behavior like that so i was never out of control. she didnt beat me, she just handled it. now, i was raised an only child and my brother was too (17yrs apart) so she doesnt know how it may have been different if there were more than one at a time. she probably still would have been able to handle it. (how different my life would be - cant even imagine! she was a single mom) . hubby and i say we want more than one child, so i dont really have a frame of reference for that. just take it as it comes i guess. good thing they start as babies....start slow...

my hubby is from mx so our babe(s) will get spanish and english asap! he wants me to read to it in spanish now so it gets familiar with the sounds. now, i dont speak much spanish so i will be learning as well. the reading will help get me motivated.

have a wonderful delivery!

just read your bio! love it! I got hooked on a book "Raising Baby Green". you should check it out if you haven't already. It is inspirirational and educational at the same time! gives you ideas on how to be green and resources to help you accomplish and learn more. i have a girlfriend who is pregnant same week as me and she has found a cloth diaper site, wildflowerdiapers.com with lots of choices. i am going to try to be as organic as comfortable and possible too. this organic grapefruit i am eating now is amazing! sweet and tart and awesome!
thanks for the bra advice! cheers to ya! : )

It's so refreshing to hear another mother express the same feelings about labor/ delivery that I have. There were some very strong opinions expressed in the forums about inductions. I always thought part of being a parent is giving up the sense of control that you have in other areas of your life in order to parent at your child's pace. You know? It's not about us anymore, it's about what works for our children. One woman in the forum actually said she was opting for induction because she was "tired of being pregnant" and "didn't feel like carrying to 40 weeks". I was floored. I've learned a lot over the last 9/ 10 months and I'm so concerned for the mothers who are not taking an active role in their health care. I'm glad to know that you are NOT like some of the ladies in the forum!!! And I've been told a little bit about hypno-birthing, but it sounds like my plan is already along the same lines! Lol, that's a little strange, but cool. What are the techniques they suggest to use?? Is it like meditation?

KevinsMilf08 - Tuesday, 6 May
THANK YOU!! YES!!!! HAHAHA! The parents NEVER freaking address the bad behavior. It's so irritating, omg, I yell at the TV! HA!
