Hello. I'm Becky, 26 years old, and living in San Antonio with my husband Glenn although I am originally from Maryland. I just got done doing 6 years in the Air Force and I am pretty happy to be finished and moving on. My husband is still active duty for another 2 years and will be supporting me and our new baby while I am a full time nursing student starting in August. He is really great and supportive and I know I am lucky to have him. I am pregnant with our first child due in May 2008! My lil sis is also pregnant at this time with her first child, a girl. I get to be an aunt and a mom all in one year! Glenn and I are really excited about this pregnancy. We got pregnant on our first try which kind of surprised us..I guess we just didn't think we were that fertile. We also just got married on December 23, 2007, I was 20 weeks pregnant and I looked freakin' awesome!! LOL I am taking HypnoBirthing classes as my child birth classes instead of Lamaze. Women who have used the technique claim they felt no pain during labor. It is based on guided imagery and self hypnosis. It sounds crazy to a lot of people but when you read the reviews from women who used it it's not so crazy anymore. I plan to breastfeed for 1 year (hopefully). I have my pump all ready to go for when I go back to school. We will also be doing cloth diapers until she has to go off to day care..and maybe longer if the day care mothers will go for cloth. We mainly want to save money and want to try and be "greener" as parents. I read an article that says each baby will go through an average of 7,000 diapers in their diapering lifetime and that's really crazy to think about all the money spent on disposables and all the human waste in the landfills. I get tons and tons of negative comments from other parents who say "you won't last 2 weeks on cloth"...so we'll see if we can prove them wrong. We are also going to start the baby on Sign Language as soon as she is born to help her communicate better with us during her first few years and my husband is particularly excited about this! Can't wait till she's here!!!!!

Hello hun! I havent been able to get online - grrrrr...damn internet! I guess they're inducing you today, huh? Tell me, tell me! Good luck!!

I went for my 41+3 at the hospital today and they are inducing me slowly on friday when I am officially 42 full weeks. She could barely strip my membranes as she almost couldn't get a finger in there...I guess that must mean I am only around 1cm dialated then..not sure?!

Let my know how you are doing! :-)

kapricesfirstbaby - Saturday, 24 May
thank you so much! Congratulations and good luck to you!

I'm going to try and sit it out and wait, at least until week 41. *crossing fingers* But my mind changes at least 17 times a day! lol!!!

socalgal - Saturday, 24 May
Thanks! I'm so glad I went 100% natural. Labor was pretty tough but so fast and recovery is incredibly fast. I had no pain down there after only a couple hours!

I hope your delivery goes well. I know the waiting game is pretty brutal. Hang in there!

Labor dust and best wishes! xxxxx

mfecht - Friday, 23 May
hey how are you doing?? havien't heard from you so i thought i'd check on you!

I get that very same poke from the heel of my baby, just on the left side. My Bubb has his back on my right side and his feet and hands on the left.

I have the worry about the cord every day. I just want him out so I can make sure nothing like that will happen - but if everything in there is fine, then I am okay with waiting a bit longer :-)

I still haven't has my show either, but I have the BH - and have had them since week 16 where they told me to take it easy and not work more than 2-4 hours daily. All this because they worried I'd either miscarry and a bit further down the line - go into pre-mature labor...

So much for that theory...I'm pregnant forever :-)

danish-girl - Wednesday, 21 May
You're supposed to wait for me - I'll be really insulted if you dont! :-)

I'm tall and my hubby is too. At the week 20 scan the baby's femur was already 20% longer than average, so I believe them when they say around 10pounds - better than a tiny little weakling I guess :-)

mummyvicki - Tuesday, 20 May

wow what is with your girls and not having your babies yet!??! they obviously don't want to come into this world very badly! but i wouldn't blame them would you?? our country is messed up!!! lol

billybump - Monday, 19 May
Thats how I feel. I have done Hypnosis before for panic attacks and it really workied so hopefully this will work too. I have looked at some hypno births on yoiu tube and it looks amazing so thought it may be worth a try.

xobecky-With my son, my water broke at home, I delayed getting to the hospital for several hours. BUT as soon as I got there, they started the Pit, because I had no contraction. Got an epidural because the PIT is nasty stuff. I had a longer push time, longer recovery time. Grrrr. My daughter on the other hand.. What a joy. Labored at home for 6 hours, got to hospital, water broke on it's own, NO DRUGS! had her an hour later, short recovery time. PERFECT! This baby is killing me! Uggg.. If it doesn't come on it's own, I'm soooo terrified of PITocin, I've nicknamed it the Devils Drug. I really want to labor without drugs. It's my goal to go natural again. I'll try to go natural on Pitocin if I have too, but I told my hubby that I am not trying to be a hero. Thanks for the info on the breaking water/staying there...

Thank you for your response. I already know it's way too close to my due date to travel and it wasn't just that that's stressing me. It's the fact that I'm being told I am going to ruin the wedding because my son was suppose to be in the wedding and I won't send my kids without me. They act like me sending my kids so far away without me and on a plane is a ridiculous fear. No one in my family is close and my brother really doesn't have any family from our side attending, but his Fiance has like 150. I just feel if I was the the tables were turned no one would risk or make any extreme sacrifices for me.
