ABOUT ME

MY NAME IS TINA IM 22 AND FROM GRIMSBY IN ENGLAND. I LIVE WITH MY PARTNER DARREN WHO IS 30 AND WE HAVE BEEN 2GETHER 5 AND A HALF YRS.WE DIDNT PLAN TO HAVE A BABY BUT WE WANTED ONE AT SUM POINT BUT IT WAS NEVER THE RIGHT TIME. WE SPLIT UP THEN I CAME OFF THE PILL TO GIVE MY BODY A BREAK BUT MY PERIOD NEVER ARRIVED,MY MUM SAID IT WOULD BE MY BODY ADDJUSTING 2 COMING OFF THE PILL. 3 MONTHS DOWN THE LINE MY PERIOD STILL NEVER CAME SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE DOCTOR BECAUSE I WAS WORRIED I MAY HAVE POLYCYSTIC OVARIE SYNDROME AS I HAD ALL THE SYMPTOMS SO MY DOCTOR CASUALLY DID A ROUTINE PREGNANCY TEST AND IT PROVED POSITIVE

ARRRRGGGG!!!

I WAS IN SHOCK I DINT KNOW WHO TO TELL SO I CALLED MY SISTER THE BRAINY ONE IN THE FAMILY WHO MADE ME SEE SENSE. SHE WAS SOOOO HAPPY 4 ME EVEN THO SHE HAS PCOS AND MAY NEVER CONCEIVE. THEN I TOLD MY EX PARNER WHO IMMIDIATELY CAME ROUND AND PUT HIS ARMS AROUND ME AND BEGGED ME TO TRY AGAIN....I KNEW WHAT I WANTED AND IT WAS THE SAME. I MADE THE FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH THE MIDWIFE AND LARNED I WAS 3 MONTHS PREGNANT SO I WAS ALREADY OUT OF THE DANGER ZONE.

TELLING MY PARENTS

I TOLD MY MUM WHILE I WAS SAT WITH MY BEST FRIEND AND SHE DIDNT BELIVE ME BUT WHEN SHE DID SHE WAS SO EXCITED FOR ME. SHE HAS 5 OF HER OWN BUT WANTED 7 BUT MY DAD SAID NO! LOL. THEN I TOLD THE REST OF THE FAMILY WHO WERE ALSO PLEASED FOR ME....THEN I TOLD MY DAD!!! HE WAS LAST TO KNOW BECAUSE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT HIS REACTION BUT HE WAS FINE.

MY PREGNANCY

WELL IF I DIDNT GO TO THE DOCTOR IN THE FIRST PLACE I WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN I WAS PREGGERS. IVE HAD NO MORNING SICKNESS NO CRAVINGS NO MOOD SWINGS I JUST GET SORE BOOBS ONCE EVERY 2 DAYS AND THATS IT SO PPL SAY IM VERY LUCKY....TOUCH WOOD THIS COULD ALL CHANGE IM DUE TO HAVE A BABY BOY ON THE 2ND OF MAY 08 AND IM CALLING HIM ASHLEY

hi!my belly seems to have gone lower now.im starting to panic a little now!ant had to shave me legs other day in the bath,i couldnt reach them lol.im feeling very heavy.i feel like an umpa lumpa at the moment!i got told she was only gonna be around a 6 pound baby shes bloody heavy 4 that haha!is the nursery all done now?im done jus gotta move a few things about.i get that short of breath lately,i dont wanna do anythin!ive made a plan 4 when shes born,cuz of bein preg and not being able to do anythin,i so want to go to alton towers!!of all the things i just wanna go there!not go out and get drunk like any1 would who hasnt drunk 4 9 months haha!!i will miss my bump tho will u?itl feel weird,i,ll still be rubbing my belly like she,s still in there!!got used to her booting the hell out of me now!owh my gosh 40 days left!!aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

hi!i dont mind if she comes early,im preparin myself 4 it now!i got told she,l be average size and weigh abt 6pound!!so shes gunna be a little 1!!less pain hopefully!she looked so big on the scan i had yest,u could see everything,her nose,her eyes,and i got them to double check it was a girl,and yep it is,thank god!!its nice to c a baby on a scan when ur that far gone cuz they are grown and they look amazing!she was asleep at the time tho,so not much movement from her!im starting to feel the pressure on my pelvis now,shes pushin right on it,cuz of her being head down now,it hurts a little,has ur baby turned yet?are you feelin any discomfort from it?its harder to move abt now cuz of the weight down there!its such a struggle 4 me to turn over in bed lol i have to grab onto ant 4 help haha!!!owh the joys of pregnancy ay!!nearly over with now tho!il miss my little bump.

hi!isnt the bedding for cots so expensive!im getting a winnie the pooh 1,and the only 1 i have found is in mothercare and its like 40 pound jus 4 the duvet alone,i need the bumper to which is 30 pound!babys cost so much lol!how u feeling now ur starting to get to the end of pregnancy?i just feel tired all the time now,starting to drain me!ive got the midwife again on monday because my blood pressure was really high so i have to go back,bores me going to my midwife she keeps u waiting 4 ages!ive packed my baby bag 4 the hospital,my mom had to help me cuz i jus did not have a clue wat to put in there,my mom put things in for me i didnt even no i had to take!apparently they have to have a hat and mits on when they leave to,so ive packed to items of clothes some baby grows socks shoes,and the list goes on lol!!anyway look at me babbling on!best shut up or ul be readin this 4 ages haha!take care.

Can you tell me how you get the sure start maternity grant? My partner works full time and I'm on maternity leave.Do you think I would qualify? On the forms it says you have to be claimimg jobseekers allownace or income support??

hello!we are both good thanx!ive finished work now!woooo!went to london yesterday to the baby show it was amazing!bought my cot from there!quite cheap there i was impressed!not to long now for us is it!u getting excited?i am but nervous aswell now!i ordereda tens machine 4 labour its arrived and my chap tested it 4 me cuz i cant till im 36+ weeks!he was jumpin all over the place with it on!now its put me off using it lol!have you started decorating ur nursery now?ive completed mine now jus got to get the cot delivered and set up and its complete and ready 4 baby!yay!

In the beginning before we found out the sex of the baby, it went by SO slow. It was kinda irritating. Then it started going by fast & now it's kinda going by slow again because I'm getting close to the end. I just wish I could go to sleep & wake up on my due date, lol. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Hey first-timer -- I too was wondering what all the other mamas on here were on about, as I am in Ireland, and they don't do that test either. They probably just do it in America (and Canada, evidently!) and I wouldn't worry about it as when I was living in the UK I asked my midwife there about all the different things they do in the states and she just said they tend to go a bit OTT! If you have any concerns though, just ask your midwife! I don't think we have half as many tests etc in the UK and Éire as they do over there. Good luck! xx

i seen ur comment and i'm in uk as well ... over there they tend to only do glucose tests if ur a incresed risk of gestational diabetes :O)
