Friday, 9 Nov 2007 ~~

15 weeks + 1 day - Had an antenatal appointment yesterday - all is well, and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time which was so amazing :-) I was worried that the midwife would not be able to find it as I have extra padding on my stomach - but I think I was just being stupid!! Also had the blood test for Spina Bifida and will get the results in a couple of months...there's such a long gap now until next month for the next scan and appointment - hopefully we can find out the sex - that would make such an amazing christmas present.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty well apart from itchiness on my neck and body. Its like I'm suddenly allergic to anything being next to my skin like my clothes, I guess I'll have to just put up with it as walking around naked is not a good alternative as A) its too cold and B) I'll get arrested !!!

Tuesday, 13 Nov 2007 ~~

15 weeks + 5 days - Had to go to the doctors today as I've developed this horrid eczema like rash on my neck - its sore and itches and I've tried Calamine and E45 but to no avail....doc prescribed some canesten so hopefully should clear it up. It wierd as I've never had such a rash before!!

Sunday, 18 Nov 2007 ~~

Week 16 and 3 days....glad to say the eczema like rash has cleared up thanks to Canesten HC cream :-) feel human again....not feeling too bad at the moment, sleeping well, can't stop thinking about food all the time though, belly is definately expanding, got Mark a book - a blokes guide to pregnancy - which he's found really helpful and its been written from a fella's point of view...it must have some funny bits on it as he would read it and I would hear him chuckling out loud :-)

Also realised today that I have to start thinking about my maternity leave at work and how much time I will have to take off, when etc...I've had to look at our company's maternity policy - why do they have to make it complicated and can't just lay things out as they are?!? I don't think I will be having more than 6 months off, but its 6 months I'm looking forward too !!!!

Week 18 today !!! I am so happy :-D Had a strange dream last night, I dreamt I saw my baby and it was a girl, she had lots of dark hair and she was a real cutie :-) aww...there's plenty of guys at work whose partners are expecting next year, so I've had lots of chat about babies, its so exciting!!

My belly is growing, especially on an evening it seems to get bigger - I think I have felt the baby move, but can't be sure as it could also be gas! I just want to feel a proper kick in the ribcage - that would make me so happy !

Not long to the antenatal appointment (11th December) then its the scan on the 17th December. I just want to see my baby and know that everything is alright.....the other day I was wishing I had a little window in my belly so I can look in and see all is well inside...lol

I have a long commute by car to work each day - this might sound silly, but I love singing (badly!) and talking to my baby as I read that the baby can hear now......

Feeling pretty well overall, just happy, get heartburn more, I seem to be extremely forgetful though - keep forgetting things !!!! Oh and still burping all the time - very unladylike :-)

Week 19 !! Nothing much to report, I have noticed a growth spurt in the baby bump department and lots of movements, especially when I am driving home from work. Had a rough night sleeping last night - woke up with a pain on my right hand side, just under my rib cage, had to get up and have a walk around and eventually managed to get back to sleep sitting up in bed - the pain went then. Other than that - just the usual wierd dreams and I find that I get more tired and achy in the evening - its getting harder to get off the sofa !! Looking forward to getting to week 20 - can't believe it will be the half way point - just another week closer :-)

Got the antenatal appointment next week and had a letter this morning saying the AFP Spina Bifida is normal. So all is well with Team Yimmy :-)

Week 20 + 4 days - I'm going for the BIG SCAN this afternoon, I've been trying to decide all weekend whether or not I want to know the sex of the baby. One part of me wants to keep it a surprise, the other want to know and I've been too-ing anf fro-ing all weekend!! I think looking at the other side, if I don't find out, will I spend the next 20 weeks thinking I wish I knew because I want to be able to buy boy things or girl things ?!?!?! I think I will find out, Mark has left the decision to me as he thinks it will just confirm what he knows and that we're having a girl (I think so too)...arrghh!!

Friday, 28 Dec 2007 ~~

Week 22 + 1 days - Forgot to mention in my update that after all that emotional stress the baby kept its legs crossed which meant we could not tell what the sex was !!! So we have decided that it was meant to be and won't find out now until when the baby is born...so neutral it is for now ...lol

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas - we had a really nice Christmas with my family, ate far too much and didn't have anything to drink (I have since discovered Shloer) just looking forward to next Christmas now, wierd to think the baby will be 7 months old by then and my parents will need two highchairs to fit around their table next year (as my brothers g/f is expecting a boy by the 25th Jan 08). Can't wait.

Been feeling pretty well overall, major mood swings (usual ! lol) rash on neck has returned (arrghh), felt baby really kicking last night when I was trying to listen to the heartbeat, it made my belly move and it was amazing !! Before that I was never sure if these twinges I was feeling was the baby moving, gas or stretching, but that kick last night was the best present ever, makes me smile just thinking back on it :0)

Thursday, 10 Jan 2008 ~~

Week 24 - Have an antenatal appointment this afternoon. Last night my feet have really swollen up and they are still swollen now. I am a little worried about it but will mention it to the midwife.

Come back from the midwife appointment - everything is fine, heard the heartbeat and bump is measuring spot on for my dates so all is well :0).

Week 27 + 2 days - Not done an update for a while, just been busy with work and home and also first nephew was born on the 24.01.08 so I am officially an Auntie, he's gorgoeus and makes me feel even more broody.

Been feeling ok, just really moody and emotional on occasion and sometimes a bit down, but trying to stay positive. Baby kicks all the time now sometimes it can been quite uncomfotable but its still a wonderful feeling. Last week I was in Mothercare and the alarm went off (the one where a tag is still attached to the item) and I felt an almighty kick as it made my baby jump. I had to give my bump a rub in the middle of the shop.

I have the GTT (Glucose Tolerence Test) this coming week, so fingers crossed all will be ok. I have also had swollen feet this week - been spending a lot of time sitting at my desk as I had a major deadline to meet at work, so have been trying to relax and recharge this weekend. Can `t believe that its the third trimester already, not long to go before we see and hold our baby!! :-D

Week 28 + 1 days - It was the start of Chinese New Year yesterday - its the Year of the Rat. Think my folks will have a get together sometime this month as is the tradition for Chinese New Year. Had the GTT and pleased to report that everything is ok and glucose levels were fine (hooray), feel quite relieved and smug about it. Apart from that, nothing much else, feeling more unmotivated by work and feeling frustrated as I want to get the nursery started but don't seem to have the energy to get going. Partner is still out of work, which does get me down but have to stay positive for him (I just hope something does come up in the next few months), I start my leave in 8 weeks. Oh, met a new friend when I went for the GTT, another mum to be due on the same day as I am so we're going to meet up and compare 3rd trimester hormone induced mood swing stories :-)

today I noticed some boob leakage from my right boob whilst in the shower...ok if I am being completely honest I found it to be a bit gross......checkup at hospital this afternoon, need to find out if I need to take iron - I have been feeling MEGA tired recently.....

Monday, 7 April 2008 ~

36 weeks + 4 days - and so the final stretch begins....finished work on Friday, am more stressed at home than at work - I found out last week as I have been having blood tests for itchy skin that my bile acid levels were up, so the hospital called me in for fetal monitoring and more blood tests. Am also taking medication and vitamin K at the moment. The worst part is the doctor telling me I will have to be induced at 38 weeks as that is the current protocol - I don't want to be induced, I want the baby to come when its ready !!!!!! The itching I can live with, the worst symptom I have at the moment is a numb left leg and numb right hand - the midwife reckons the leg is to do with the sciatic nerve and how the baby is lying, whereas the hand is carpel tunnel syndrome - most days I can't feel my two middle fingers, its more annoying than painful. I always have pins and needles too when I wake up. We're off to the hospital now for our stork walk (tour of the labour ward and post natal department) - wierd to think that in maybe in less than 2 weeks thats where I'll be....
