Taurus Baby Hosroscope Perdicts:
Parents of a Taurus tot are going to have to be very aware of this baby's need to be touched. Loving caresses and a tender touch are what the Taurus baby lives for! Along those lines, this is a child who needs to be comfortable. Things to keep in mind are providing a room and bed that are neither too hot nor too cold, food that is tasty (a budding gourmand has arrived!), soothing sounds, and whimsical toys. As Taurus rules the Second House, the House of Possessions, this baby's playthings will be very treasured to them. When it comes to the learning curve, the Taurus baby is not in a hurry to grasp new concepts. This tot will learn things at their own pace and be unresponsive to pressure, yet persevering in the end. In light of this, a gentle manner to get this baby to react and respond is the sensible course of action. Also familial in nature, the Taurus baby will enjoy having the family in close proximity. You can consider this baby a people person in general, as they are also likely to control the play circle where that well-known Taurean stubbornness will reveal itself! To sum up, the Taurus baby wants to be touched, will revel in thier toys, and as an Earth Sign, will want to have both feet firmly planted on the ground!

We think that we have a name! When we meet baby we will know for sure, but here is our favorite choice:

Custom Glitter Text
Sam is short, easy to spell, impossible to mis-pronounce, and I think it's really cute! Samuel is biblical, important to Daddy who wants to follow family tradition and baptise baby. Sam/Samuel is said exactly the same way in French as it is in English, important because half of Sam's family is french speaking. And Grandma likes 'Sammy!' :)
Kayne is a combination of our brothers names. Ken (mine) & Wayne (his).....Kayne! We think that the new Uncles will like that they are included, and it's a nice family touch for little Sam.

In Daddy's & My Bag:

  • A ‘birth plan’ that is flexible, but I want to have with me so that if a new doctor is present they have an easy understanding of what we had in mind for this experience. (from: www.earthmamaangelbaby.com)
  • 1 thick tank top that won’t show my new momma nipples
  • 1 pair PJ pants
  • 1 pair PJ shorts
  • 1 pair of old slippers that can be tossed if need to be
  • 2 pairs socks
  • 1 big nightshirt
  • 4 pairs underwear
  • maxi pads & nursing pads
  • A tacky wrap around & do-up-under-bust-line towel thingy that looks like something my Granny would wear but will be easy to breast feed in & get in/out of with no problems
  • A short Bathrobe for pacing the hospital halls while in labour
  • A loose fitting pair of pants & a matching shirt to wear home & easy to wear flip flops

Also:

  1. My birthing ball (a.k.a. my exercise ball)
  2. My favorite pillow
  3. A camera, extra battery, battery charger
  4. My ipod & its speaker dock & power plug if needed (because music calms me & is a part of my birth strategy)
  5. My Turby-Twist head towel - good god I love that thing!
  6. Some plastic grocery bags for yucky & dirty stuff that I have to take home and clean
  7. A make-up bag with a few essentials because inevitably there will be pictures taken and photo shop can only do so much! Included in that bag: a small mirror, a comb, travel sized shampoo, conditioner, lotion & body wash, my contacts case & glasses, 2 toothbrushes, deoderant, basic chapstick.
  8. Contacts case & glasses

In Baby’s Bag:

  • List of phone numbers that will need to be called when baby arrives & Daddy nor I can think of anything calmly
  • His take home outfit – so cute – with matching hat & little socks A back up outfit (in case needed)
  • A small blanket A spit up cloth/receiving blanket
  • Several diapers & some wipes
  • nursing pads
  • mommy maxi pads.....lol

*all baby’s stuff has been washed and dried and ready to wear. The car seat and Baby Bag are now in the car and ready to roll!*

Available from the Best Friend on a moments notice:

  1. Several already chilled boxes of my favorite fruit juices & a big bottle of water
  2. Tim Horton’s Egg Salad Sandwich on white bread with extra mayo
  3. Single serving yogurts & spoons
  4. Any other non-hospital food that I should want
  5. Important reason to talk to me alone, therefore banishing everyone from the room & letting me rest in peace!

Marc 20th:

Im feeling good. Definatly nesting now....had some psychotic episodes to confirm it. All in all though, Im feeling good. My nausea/heartburn is under control thanks to some wonderful magic pill, my sleeping is alright - but I definatly feel that I need more than average amounts of it, and I officially hate all my maternity clothes. Oh how I love thse cute tight knee length shorts and baby doll tops out there this spring, with a pair of wedges or some colorful flats...love it. Unfortunatly, I cant see my gigantic egg-like shape pulling off the same look, especially with these cankles! Lol!

My baby shower is on March 30th. My parents cant make it, due to my dads medical state, my brother is away training in Calgary, most of my family wont be in town that weekend, my friends are all pretty busy...but Im trying to stay positive. It'll be nice to see some people, better than nothing right!?!

It's down to weekly doctor visits now. Baby room is getting all ready this weekend and hopefully everything will come together in time for me to go see my parents for a few days! So close to babytime that I dont want to be away for too long, but I really want to go for a few days. Maybe Ill even get to ride on one of the fancy new BC Ferries...hahahahaha!

April 09/2008

Almost time! Room is beautiful, shower was fun, basinette ready and at bedside, bags packed & in car, car seat attached, dresser loaded, glider in place, diapers ready - and even rubber gloves for Daddy! Just waiting........and waiting.........

Dr says cervix has shortened & opened signifigantly and is soft. Says should be soon. Says that if I make it to next Monday's appointment then we will have a few during the week just to check on everything. Im so excited to hold our baby!

April 21st

Well here I sit. Due today! Still 2-3cm dialated and puffy and waiting. Atchually feeling some discomfort however and Dr and I truly suspect that the M.P. has all but gone. Most excitingly, in last hour there is some color...so maybe Sam is getting ready to make his appearance after all :)

Guess all we can do is keep waiting!

Samuel Kayne Rondeau has arrived! April 22nd, 4:06pm! 8lbs 8ozs 52cm long! And only 16 hours of hard work needed :) Thank you to my best friends Carmen and Dawn for being strong enough to be in the room with us and support me through the experience, you two are the greatest! Thank you to my mom & dad who waited excitedly in the hall and endured hrs of listening to thier own baby go threw the process of life! And most of all thank you to my amazing man for being beside me and helping me in so many ways. You are were my strength to go on and I couldnt have done it without you by my side.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
