Tuesday, 7 October Relief to know that I am not alone. I was really worried about it. A good night sleep is really important for their development. I just put her down for a nap, she didn't protest much. I pat her for 2mins and she slept. Laura Ward -
Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Monday, 15 September I'm not getting too excited in case last night was a one-off occurance :-) I didn't do anything different last night - the routine was the same as always!! She had a bottle at 10pm and then we didn't hear a peep out of her until after 6am this morning....it was lovely! I had 8 hours uninterrupted sleep for the first time in 8 months!!! My Hubby asked if this morning if I was feeling refreshed today after having a good night's sleep....I told him that I think it's going to take more than 1 night to recover from 8 months of no sleep....hehehehe!! How was your night? Claire :-) DANNIE -
Sunday, 14 September 5 TEETH CUTTING THROUGH ALL AT THE SAME TIME! POOR LITTLE CADEN! THE GOOD THING IS NOW THAT THEY ARE THROUGH HE SHOULD SETTLE DOWN AND HOPEFULLY SLEEP BETTER. RYLAND WAS TAKING SHORT NAPS WHILE TEETHING, BUT IS NOW TAKING TWO 1 1/2-2 HR NAPS AND A 30 MINUTE NAP IN THE LATE AFTERNOON. ClaireC -
Sunday, 14 September Hi, how are you? Thanks for your message! I've heard some good stories from people who have been to the sleep clinics but we also have a massive waiting list here and one place only takes you if you are so sleep-deprived that you have post-natal depression and a Doctor refers you! Ella's day sleeps are great and in a good routine and she goes down for the evening without a fight....her biggest problem is the constant waking during the night!! It started to get better a few weeks back but now its really bad again! Let me know how the phone interview goes and what they tell you! Also...I know what you mean about not knowing anyone else who is experiencing this...all of my friends at my mothers group have babies that sleep all night and have since a very young age....ahhhh....not fair...hehehe!!! Yep, i'm here for you coz I know hoe frustrating and exhausting it is :-) Claire :-) P.S. No, i'm not back at work yet but will be next year. I'm very grateful i'm not back yet coz I'd be a walking zombie...hehehe!! How do u go during the day on your work days?? Shathon -
Wednesday, 10 September i've noticed that people do get defensive. I don't really mind, cuz i know everyone has different ways of raising their kids. my friend has a 2 1/2 month old little boy. she doesnt know much or read many books, and gets so mad when people try to tell her what to do. i think i'm the only one she will listen too, but then im carful how i approach it. if shes doing something bad for the baby, I'll tell her "i read.... or my doctor said...." Its never ME telling her to do something. everything else i let drop. if it isnt bad for the baby, to each his own, right?
******and thanks, I was so worried that everyone was gonna turn on me and kick me off the site. was kinda surprised how it all turned out though. never thought jody would go crazy though. mommy of natty-b -
Wednesday, 10 September yay!and about the daycare thing, I worked at one and their are great ones, but i think every mommy would choose one on one care if they could...I am avoiding daycare at all costs until my kiddo is older Shathon -
Tuesday, 9 September my mom watches my girl, and thats cuz i would never put her in a daycare. but then I don't even let the neibors that have kids watch her either. I have nothing against them.... just against my poor helpless babies going to them. lol DANNIE -
Wednesday, 27 August How much did he weigh at his last appointment? He looks very healthy in all of the pictures I have seen of him. I am sure being able to feed him more solids will help and you won't have to worry so much about his formula intolerance. But I know, it's so easy to worry. You are doing a great job! And like everyone else said, as long as Caden is at least gaining a little and is content and happy, then things should be fine. DANNIE -
Wednesday, 27 August Ryland is about 18.5 lbs and 26.5 inches He goes for his 6 month on the 4th of sept. I weighed him at a hospital class I went to the other day on their scale, so it should be pretty accurate DANNIE -

Monday, 25 August I wasn't upset. or arguing you. My girl sleeps a ton and all through the night, I guess I have it easy. I was just pointing out a study that I saw cuz it related to you guys' post. thats all. ClaireC -
Monday, 25 August Haaa....I hear you!! I just die of jealousy when I hear "Oh my baby has been sleeping 7pm-7am since 5 weeks old" ARGH!!!!
Ella has NEVER slept through (oh actually yes she did...once...she had a really bad chest virus and she slept in our bed with me - hubby in the spare room - and she slept all night with her little rattly chest and cough!!!) But I didn't sleep at all that night coz I was also sick and I was worried about her!
Ella was feeding every 3 hours at night but also waking a million other times for no reason (couldn't sleep settle without a dummy) - that was happening every night until about 4 and a half months old. Then she dropped a feed and was feeding every 4 hours...but still waking in between those feeds! I also tried EVERYTHING: a radio in her room, more blankets, less blankets, a heater, a fan, giving water instead of bottles etc etc. I spent many a night curled up on her bedroom floor because I was sick of walking in and out of her room all the time! When she got to 6 months...I'd had enough and started looking into different formulas and asking my doctor lots of questions as to why she is so hungry all night. He just said she has a fast metabolism and one day she'll just sleep through one day...HAAA!!! But I changed her formula anyways (she was on Karicare Gold...now on S26 Gold) and straight away she dropped another night feed and started sleeping heaps better!! Then I started giving her meat (chicken) for dinner instead of just vegies just after her 6 month birthday..and since then she has had dinner at 5pm, bath and then bottle (120ml) at 6pm and then to bed at 6:30pm. She now sleeps until 1am when she has a bottle 180ml and a nappy change and then sleeps until 6am! She may also wake up around 5am coz its cold and last night she woke at 11pm for her dummy....but I'm LOVING getting some longer chunks of sleep for once! Are u back at work? If I was working now...i'd be a mess..but I'm not going back to work unitl next Jan (she better be sleeping through by then...haaa). Her day sleeps are a whole nother issue...don't get me started on them :-(
Hopefully the blood tests will show if there's a medical reason to him not sleeping well....or he's just gifted.. LOL..
Claire :-) ClaireC -
Monday, 25 August Hi. Just wanted to say thanks for putting that last comment up about the link between sleepless babies and gifted children and the link to the website of the study. I was the one who first brought up this study - I simply made a little comment one day that I was told that SOME babies that don't sleep well, may grow up to be gifted coz their brains are so busy! I mentioned it as a little 'joke' to lighten the mood for all the sleep-deprived mummies (coz I'm one...haaaa) and I ended up getting a few private messages from offended people thinking that was implying that coz their baby sleeps through they'll be dumb! My words were completely turned around....argh! So I just wanted to say thanks for backing me up and closing the case :-)
Ella is a shocking sleeper and I'm still waiting for a full night's sleep.... And I don't think she's anymore gifted than other babies, but its worth a laugh at 3am....
How's your bubs sleeping going?
Claire :-)
