6.3 hours ago Girl I know it!! I actually had someone tell my dad that its just sad how us "young people" dont know the consequences to our actions!! I couldnt believe someone actually said that. .but good ole dad took care of that :) I am very proud to be bringing a life in to this world and dont need some bible thumping hypocrital nay-sayers telling me my child is anything other than a complete miracle! At least I am mostly surrounded by amazing supportive people and I am so blessed to have them :) amandajlane -
10.9 hours ago Trust me you will get people doing that the rest of your life. . but its something that helps drive you to achieve more. As irritated as I get that people under estimate my character I know without their negativity I may not drive to show them just how wrong they are! We are the epidomy of strong women and people just have to take the time to find that out about us :) amandajlane -
34.7 hours ago Completely understand. . I didnt get my license until I was 18 and out of school anyway. I always had a bf or a friend to take me places so I was pretty unmotivated. Now I have a good job with benefits, a house, and a paid off car. Wasnt always easy but we did it and I know you guys can too! I hate that people think if you are young and dont go to college or get pregnant you are some kind of failure to society, I am one of those that can tell em to stick it because I have done very well with my life and make just as much money as some with a college education! So good for you on the responsibility route and keep it up girl!! NumberFive -

Friday, 16 May Honestly I think so. Walking up stairs is more strenuous than walking and if you have to do that 3,4,10 times a day then you are getting some physical workout done everyday. I wouldnt be too worried about it, besides if you want you can turn on some music and walk up and down the stairs for 20 minutes and call that a workout :) pregomom2be20 -
Friday, 16 May go online to walmart.com or target.com or whatever major store you have in canada =) and go to the registry part of the page and create a registry or you can do it in the stores. It is pretty simple, but if you do it in the store just ask someone for help and they will gladly walk you through it!! Tell them that you want to create a baby registry!! GOOD LUCK!! christelle -
Friday, 16 May Hi there. I don't know that walking alot before birth really helps make labour easier. There are lots of women on bedrest for months before they deliver and again, I don't know that that makes their labours worse than others. You'll be fine! I think the first part of labour isn't so bad, more like period cramps (from what I hear, this is my first too) and you get a pretty long break between contractions. By the time things get difficult, you should be able to have an epidural and won't feel anything after that. I know it's hard but try not to feel too nervous, if you tense up, it could make it worse, but if you can practice relaxing, things "should" be less painful and even go faster! That's my plan anyways. Can you get a hold of some relaxation cds? (Then you can feel like you are preparing for the birth without having to exert too much energy :) raindrop0208 -
Friday, 16 May There are are alot of stores that have baby registries...pretty much any store that sells baby items =) raindrop0208 -
Friday, 16 May Go to Babies R Us or Target and tell them that you want to do a baby registry. They will sign you up (it's free) take down your info and due date then give you a scanner. You walk around the store and scan anything that you want. All the items that you scan go onto your registry list. If you make a mistake they can show you how to take an item off. Also, you will be able to look at your registry online and make any changes that you want afterwards. After you are done they will print out little card that say that you are registered at Babies r Us. When you send out your babyshower invitations put one of these cards ineach envelope or else just write that you are registered at Babies r Us or target. When someone purchases something of your registry it will show up so that people don'e all get you the same thing. The cool thing is...that the store will send you a 10% discount coupon of everything that is on your registry a few weeks before your due date. You might want to tell them that your due date is a little later than it is...like July? So that you have time to get the coupon!!!
FYI...Babies R Us gave me a present when I registered there =) amandajlane -
Thursday, 15 May No its safe to sleep upstairs. . walking up and down stairs is rumored to help induce labor. That why its encouraged for us to walk etc if we are late in the pregnancy. It just causes your baby so push down on your cervix. The baby may have just dropped and thats why you cant feel anything, but if you think that something is wrong I would call the doc. Better to be overly cautious :) amandajlane -
Thursday, 15 May Sometimes nausea can be a sign of labor and then will all the pain. . I would call the doc. Its always better to be safe than sorry!! You could just be coming down with a sickness too. . .bleh. Our babies are going to slow down in their movements because they are starting to drop and dont have as much room so unless you cant feel her at all I wouldnt fret too much! thebigtomato -
Wednesday, 14 May 1: what is induced? Induced means that they make your labor start artificially instead of waiting for it to start naturally. They usually do this with a combination of gels that soften the cervix and intravenous drugs that stimulate contractions.
2: what is the strep b test? All pregnant women should be tested for a bacteria called strep b around 35 to 37 weeks. It is a common bacteria for women to carry and does not harm the mother, but it can cause potential problems for the baby. It is painless. They just stick this tester thing in the vagina and let it sit there a minute, pull it out, and send it off to the lab.
3: what is potosin? Pitocin (which is how it is actually spelled) is the most common intravenous drug used in the U.S. to induce labor. It is administered through an IV drip and usually stimulated contractions within a half hour after it has been started. It can often create more frequent and stronger contractions than natural labor, which is why some women on the message boards have referred to it as "the devil's drug". Women that are induced with pitocin are far more likely to require an epidural due to the strength of the contractions it produces.
4: and does the epidural mess up your system down the raod? There is no evidence that shows any long-term damage caused by an epidural. Not only that, but an epidural is essentially the same thing as a spinal block, which they have been doing for decades with no negative long-term reactions.
Hope this helps! mamacakes -
Wednesday, 14 May Well..i dont know how long ago she had the epidural. I am 33 and my mom had the Spinal block which is VERY different. Back then they didnt have/use the epidural. Maybe she is confused between the two? preciousangels2 -
