Well, I had to take them both to the doctor this morning! Caiden had been acting like his ears were bothering him and Cassie's throat looked like it was almost swelled shut. Caiden weighed 21 pounds and 3 ounces! Cassie weighted 61 pounds and 6 ounces! They are both getting soooo big. Turns out we were told both of them have a viral throat infection...how can it be both viral and an infection!? UGH!! They should be better in a week...Caiden isn't sleeping now, I can only imagine if it gets worse :( . Cassie has been running a low grade fever and complaining with headaches, just started complaining with her throat (she is VERY afraid of getting strep tests!), so I guess that is why she waited so long. Caiden had a strep test too, he did so good. He didn't even cry.

I hope everyone is doing well in your families, I just hate seeing sick babies...wish it were me instead! :)

Caiden had to go back to the doctor this morning. He has another ear infection. The last time he had one he was cutting teeth, a little over a month ago. Let's hope that is what started this one! Bless his heart...he doesn't sleep at night, only during the day (a little)! He weighed in at 20 pounds and 5 ounces today. They didn't measure him, so I don't know how tall he is, but he is bigger than my lap now! LOL He is getting sooo big! I can't believe he is almost 7 months old! I will be planning a party before long!

Caiden had to go for his 6 month's shots today. He weighed 19 pounds and 9 ounces..big ole boy. He was 28 inches long and his head circumference was off the charts! UGH...so off we had to go to have a CT scan! I was a nervous wreck. (of all days for me to tell my DH to go on to work and I would take him this time!) He looked soooo pitiful on that huge table. Luckily he went to sleep right before they called us back and slept through the whole thing. It just broke my heart not knowing what they might find. The doctor called me at about 1:30 today to tell me everything was just as he had suspected...it was fluid on the front of his brain which hadn't absorbed into the brain yet. He said this would take care of itself in a year. He was relieved as I was. He is such a super nice man and he just loves on our kids everytime we bring them in. Most doctors these days herd you in and out like cattle. It is nice to know a doctor like that still exist! He was leaving on vacation today and wanted to make sure we got the results before he left so he put a rush on the tests. Very good to know everything is ok or at least it will be in a year (don't know if that means a year from now or when he is a year old, guess I will ask when he gets back)

Back to the doctor's again! Caiden woke up with a huge swelled up lip (bottom)! Who knows what caused it, but we are giving him benedryl every 6 hours for the next 72 hours! He weighed 19 pounds and 9 ounces! OM, will he ever go and not gain weight? He is getting so heavy! It has only been 9 days and he has gained 6 ounces. Crazy! He babbles so much now, I just love it! He laughs at Cassie all the time. If he starts crying or getting fussy all Cassie has to do is say his name and he calms down. It is amazing how she can calm him so easily....hope that continues.

Caiden had to go back to the doctor because his skin started looking horrible again, they thought he may be having an allergic reaction to the penicillin. Turns out the penicillin (actually Amoxil) had irritated his eczema. We have been told now he cannot have any penicillin type products until he is at least 3-4 years old and his eczema is under control. He weighed 19 pounds and 3 ounces! He is soooo heavy!

Caiden had to go to the doctor this morning...ear infection! UGH. I guess we have been pretty lucky though since this is his first one. I don't really know when they start getting them. He weighed 18 pounds and 13 ounces.

Friday night I discovered he has his first tooth when I was feeding him. He is growing up soooo fast!

Thanks to this page and to one of my friends I have made on here I got brave enough to take Caiden to the dermatologist about his terrible skin issues...His face looks as smooth as his bottom now! After only 3 applications of his medicine they gave us. Thank you so much www.i-am-pregnant.com! And Thank you so VERY much Ms. Debra Haynes! After reading about your little girl it convinced me I needed to at least try! It was amazing the difference in just one application of the medicine. Although the cleanser he had us change to didn't work so well, we are excited beyond words his face is clear for the first time in months! He itched so bad before. Thanks again to moderator Mrs. Haynes!

Today we had to take him back to see how the new formula had been treating him for the last 3 weeks...obviously pretty good! He weighed 18 pounds and 10 ounces! Big ol' boy!

He still has some dry areas, but nothing like it was 3 months ago. We can now finally start feeding him food, instead of liquid food (formula). He told us to start him on the yellow veggies, then green, then fruit. Dr. Payne told us this usually helps children with food allergies. I can't wait to get home tonight and try to feed him food! Guess I will start with Carrots or sweet potatoes or squash...that is the only "yellow" veggies I could find. Her

Well, we went to the Urologist yesterday. They took care of his "skin bridge". Now I feel better about everything...the Doc said that type of thing is common and usually happens 24-48 hours after the circumcision. They numbed him up for about an hour and then with a snip it was over. He didn't hurt at all. He seems to be having no pain or anything.

Caiden went for his 4 month check up today. He was 27 inches long and 17 lbs. and 1 oz. He is in the 95th percentile for his age in both areas. The DR. changed his formula, thinking he may have food allergies...although he has only spit up probably 5 times his entire little life...so we will see. He put him on Nutramigen, the most expensive formula out there I think! It is 26.00 for a 16 oz can of powder. I was paying that for double the amount. I hope it works though and it will all be worth it. He has the most dry skin of anybody I have ever seen and we have tried every lotion and soap imaginable! It is horrible, he has got to itch like crazy. We also found out what we thought we would, he is being referred to a Urologist (sp?) for his little private part. It has one small spot from the circumcision that has grown back...it is probably the size of the end of an ink pen or something, but they will have to lance it. Hopefully they will wait until he is a year old.

Yesterday Caiden rolled over for the first time from his belly to his back. He was so shocked and surprised. He is at such a cute age now. He loves looking at his hands and playing with them. He also likes to grab anything within his reach, the brighter the better. He loves for us to sing to him (boy will that change when he grows up!). He tries to sing along with us, it is too cute! He just loves to try and talk. I can't wait! Caiden also loves his big sister. I can mention her name and he just starts looking around. It is amazing how smart they are at such a young age.
