Hello...just wanted to let you know that I had my baby! I had her May 28th...she was 6lbs 8oz, 18 3/4 in long. She came 1 hr after my petocin started, went from 1 1/2-->2-->8. then 2 pushes and baby was out!! They said I could ask for an EPI when I got to 4, but by the time they checked I was already at 8 and there was no time to get any pain meds...:(

I'm not really sure what's going on over here- but I have the "Mudd Butt" issue too and nausea. I'm a little behind you and have had issues with preterm labor already- I just know is that this baby keeps me guessing. Are you feeling better now?

usually the c-section stay at a hospital is 4 days assuming everything went normal. They suggested that I go home after 3 days, but I was so scared and paranoid, I wanted to stay an extra day.

hey :) i got your message...im not sure if its the exact same for each state (im from texas, but will be on the east coast till about a month after the baby is born)...i was told that here, taking pain meds while breastfeeding is perfectly fine, the dose may be a bit lower since it can be extracted to the baby throu the breast...and there is also the option of taking a med for pain that isnt near as strong (such as tylenol, motrin, etc)...you definately wanna talk with your dr about optional pain meds, if youre unsure or are having concerns...i can say one thing about c~secs, it is a major surgery, and can be quite scary, and yes, you are gonna be sore and moving with the speed of an 80 YO woman for a few days LOL...BUT...alot of women who have had them will tell you after the first 3 or 4 days the pain becomes minimal, and some dont need anything stronger than tylenol :) so make sure this is one thing you definately ask your dr about! BTW...to kind of relive you a bit, your dr isnt gonna give you anything that will intentionally hurt the baby...your dr is gonna make sure the pain med that is given to you will have as little to no effect on the baby as possible...(what i mean by little is, a friend of mine noticed that the pain meds she was taking while breastfeeding seemed to make her baby a bit more tired than usual, so she eased up on them and switched to motrin and things were fine)...:)

I breast fed-and made absolutely sure the pain meds wouldnt interfere!!! I was on demerol in the hospital and I got perscriptions for hydrocodone. Just don't try to do too much right away like I did the first time! Take it easy!!!! Listen closely to what the dr tells you. Good luck-and I will be happy to answer any other questions you have!!

I did b/f both times, I was on a morphine drip the 2nd time around because I had an adhesion and the doctor said he had to filet my uterus from my abdomen wall. I was so darn high. they never said anything about hurting the baby. and he is 15 and fine. he was fine all during his childhood. He took to it right away. You just have to make sure that they do not give a bottle at all during your hospital stay. and they will try. no water in a bottle, some advise no pacifiers during the 1st month, but I used one from the start with both babies and had no problems.

my first c-section I was out of the hospital after 3 days (2 nights) The more you walk-the better off you are. I was taking my pain meds and walking as much as I could, and the dr. let me go earlier than most. The usual stay is around 3-4 days. Good luck!!!!!

when i had my first (via emergency c~sec) i was there for 4 days...this time around my dr said i was only gonna be in for 2 days! dosent seem like long enough to me! not to mention more than likely they are gonna take my staples out BEFORE i leave the hospital! first time around i had them in for 2 weeks...things have changed so much since i had my first c~sec...im nervous, but im also so uncomfortable..ive only got 5 days to go :)...good luck!

springtime - Tuesday, 13 May
I stayed in the hospital 5 days, but now they have cut it down to around 4 days. they get you up and walking around 12 hours after the surgery. It is painful, but the first c-section goes quick. I had my first one when I was 20 also. Now I am going to have a 3rd one.
