My profile

Kia Ora, Hello!

My name is Zavana and im 22 years old and expecting my first child with my handsome partner Hamish.

Though our baby wasnt planned for this year,

it is still a blessing to be able to have him a year earlier!

**IM HAVING A HANDSOME LITTLE BOY!**

..I LOVE HIM TO PIECES..

I live in New Zealand and would love to chat with people from the same place.

I have been on this site ever since I found out I was pregnant, but have decided to join so I can chat to others about arising problems or concerns.

The week after that I had found out that I was pregnant ( Jan. 23rd was the day i found out) the morning or shall i say all day sickness kicked in. I had it from 7 weeks till about 14 weeks. Apart from that everything seems to be trucking along normally. :)

My Midwife is my partners Auntie in which is great, as she is a family member and I get to see her all the time unlike the other midwifes here in NZ in which seems to be so booked with others, that when you have an appointment with them, your time limited.

I AM LUCKY!

I am considering having a water birth at home, as the saying goes

" Theres no place like home!"

  • I finally felt my baby kick for the first time April 22nd. What an amazing experience it is to be able to feel this life inside of me kick and move around. And FINALLY Hamish was able to feel our baby move on the outside on June 19th!

Just wish sometimes that he wouldnt play soccer when im trying to get to sleep after work! :)

  • July 1st- Noticed my nipples starting to leak..Something that totally took me by suprize!

I try not to look at the scale when I go to the dr but it's like a compulsion that I have to. I am glad to have only put on 28 pounds thus far and have all but stopped for the past 3-4 weeks. With my 1st I gained almost 40. It was insane. What was worse was that when I went in for my 6 week check up I was only 4 lbs from my start weight. Awesome right? No, I gained like 15 back and it took me at least a year and a half to get it back off. My theory is that when I saw that the weight had just fallen off, I started to be less ocnscience of what I ate and those pounds stuck. So this time, and my advice, is I will continue to drink water like crazy and be watchful of the carbs and fat that I eat. Those stupid sugary carbs are like poison for me. I love them but they do serious damage to this body. (I say this after having downed a piece of 5 layer chocolate cake. mmmm.) At least we are heading into winter so we can hide out under a sweater while we shed whatever weight we may have put on. Not that we have to tell strangers how much that may be.

I know what you mean... everyone keeps telling me to take it easy. But that wont get the house work or dinner done and there is no such thing when you have a 2 1/2 yr old. I think I am more anxious than anything. Just ready for her to be here. take care:)

i wonder how good those actually work :/

dont worry i'm sure when you see your baby, you'll know. my mom said they had my sisters name all ready to go, but when she was born it changed.
my baby's name is Presley. as for a middle name idk yet. that was the compromise. i can name her Presley as long as DH gets to pick the middle name, and he is taking FOREVER to pick one! hopefully he waits until she's born to decide, so maybe he'll just be so happy that he doesnt care and will go with whatever I suggest! lol

oh, I would have been a wreck!! I would have had my bf come over to hold my arm up or something..LOL

HOPEFULLY!! The Dr's refuse to do anymore internal exams until week 38... the week they were suppose to induce me. If I go before then then thats fine with them but they are afraid that if they do one before that it will put me in labor. I was pissed at first but now I am ok with it cause I would rather have a full term baby then them induce labor too early. Its pretty much all up in the air right now, I know he will come though. STILL have to pack my bag. OH and we got the good news that we got our new vehicle... since our car won't hold 3 car seats and us, so in 2 weeks we get our 2004 Pontiac Montana... that will be weeks 38 so I hope everything gets put into place and order before the babe gets here (another reason I can hang on to him a little longer then I orignianlly thought lol)

how the heck did you keep your arm like that for 2 hours? lol

I distinctly recall losing my plug with #1 but that I know of nothing like that has happened yet. And if it were to come down to having to have our house finished for us, I think that alone would drive me insane. Everything thus far has been just how we wanted it. Mostly me cuz dh really isnt that picky as long as it is clean. So to have someone else calling the shots would make me nervous. Especially cuz his mom has got terrible taste in colors and style and my mom would spend every dime we had saved just cuz she thinks we can afford it. While I would love our house to 'magically' be perfect, I am ok with having to do most of it. At least to the point that I could trust the theme to be carried out. The dining room is bare drywall still with only the piano and dining set in there. So that could be scary. I have specific plans for it and I just know that they would be ignored for times sake. Be grateful that someone else is doing the work as this late in pregnancy it can put a real stress on you and your dh to be stuck doing such a large job. Isn't it crazy what ppl will ask you? I get it on here cuz we are all experiencing simular things and going through it together but when a perfect stranger in a store asks you how much weight you have put on or if you are 'backed up' or any of the other incredibly personal questions they can dream up, it makes me wonder where their sense of tact is. I would never even consider asking something like that.

really? what kind of stuff do they have thats natural?

Dont feel stink, my best friend is also about to pop with her fourth and she didnt know how to 'be' around me. Im still excited about, and interested in everyone elses pregnancys. You ladys are doing such amazing jobs of growing people! There was no heartbeat so I was induced, 17 hour labour then he finally came out I looked down saw him and fainted. The placenta wouldnt come away so I went to theater had an epidural and they took it out. Was 22 hours in all and I was exhausted. The hardest part is how much he looked like OUR baby and how perfect he was, I almost wish I hadnt seen him and left him at hospital to get cremated cos then I wouldnt know what I was missing out on not having him. Dont know if that makes sence. My daughter named him Jack and she kept his lil beenie. Now Im just trying to get through a day at a time, my tummy feels empty - no more kicks.

Be glad you have builders to do it. We have like 19 days till baby comes and there is still a lot to do. And dh is starting to panick cuz he thought for sure that someone would at least show up after they offer to help. We started last spring and have had harldy any help at all. We have re roofed, sided, run electrical, insulated, drywalled, mudded, taped, teztured, painted and carpeted a 400 square foot adition. Then we totally gutted the center 1/3 of our house and did from the electric onward all new plus the cabinetry in the kitchen and turned our old bedroom into a dining room. We have moved doors, put wood floors throughout the house, (minus bedrooms) put in new windows and since January my dh has been working basically alone. Our families live very close but have not been there for us. Even now that we are running out of time, they are calling dh to have him help them with their little house projects. They called him to help move their dryer. 5 minutes MIL says. So an hour and a half later he gets home cuz they had him rewiring outlets and checking up on their mudding job. It is making me nuts. Plus, now I am even more worried cuz of these contractions. I go in again Friday and am hoping they say there is nothing going on so I know the contractions are doing nothing. We need every spare day we can get. Not that I wanna go over due but early could be bad too. Maybe then the family would pitch in. While I am in the hospital! ha ha ha.
