My profile

Kia Ora, Hello!

My name is Zavana and im 22 years old and expecting my first child with my handsome partner Hamish.

Though our baby wasnt planned for this year,

it is still a blessing to be able to have him a year earlier!

**IM HAVING A HANDSOME LITTLE BOY!**

..I LOVE HIM TO PIECES..

I live in New Zealand and would love to chat with people from the same place.

I have been on this site ever since I found out I was pregnant, but have decided to join so I can chat to others about arising problems or concerns.

The week after that I had found out that I was pregnant ( Jan. 23rd was the day i found out) the morning or shall i say all day sickness kicked in. I had it from 7 weeks till about 14 weeks. Apart from that everything seems to be trucking along normally. :)

My Midwife is my partners Auntie in which is great, as she is a family member and I get to see her all the time unlike the other midwifes here in NZ in which seems to be so booked with others, that when you have an appointment with them, your time limited.

I AM LUCKY!

I am considering having a water birth at home, as the saying goes

" Theres no place like home!"

  • I finally felt my baby kick for the first time April 22nd. What an amazing experience it is to be able to feel this life inside of me kick and move around. And FINALLY Hamish was able to feel our baby move on the outside on June 19th!

Just wish sometimes that he wouldnt play soccer when im trying to get to sleep after work! :)

  • July 1st- Noticed my nipples starting to leak..Something that totally took me by suprize!

I guess since you're having the baby at home, that means you won't be induced, am I right?

I went to my Dr yest and am feeling kinda anxious only because she is. I don't like it. I think everything is fine and think I'll go into labor naturally and am not bothered by going past my "due date" but she's making me feel uneasy about it. My baby's heart rate is on the low side ave 120 but yest was lower at a glance so I had to go sit with a monitor for a bit where she averaged 120 so she said that was fine, and she's concerned that once I'm at all past my due date the odds of meconium and low fluid and I don't know what all go up. Maybe I've been reading too many natural birth type books cause I just think everything will go as God intended and that my body will go into labor precisely at the right time but my Dr. makes me feel like I should be concerned if she not out by this Sat. She's scheduled an ulttrasound for Mon to check fluid and she'll only be 2 days past due. I also know they get really anxious about the babys heart rate in labor and if my baby already has a 120 then are they gonna be wanting to cut her outa there as soon as her heart drops which is sounds like they normally do when things get close? Hmmmmm. sorry to go off. I'm glad your MF isn't causing you any anxiety. I think I have a good Dr. it's just that they are trained so different. I'm still feeling great. I went to a couple major hikes this week on our best local hills and otherwise am walking walking walking. Are you feeling good?

Thanks ....will do that! Saw physio yesterday and I do not know what she did but it worked ...yay!!!!!
I am getting sooooo impatient ....I feel like I have lots of energy today! At least if I was tired I could watch a movie or something but I want to run around - I feel quite hyper!

Hows it going thought I'd drop in to see if you'd gone yet? How on earth did you get through this waiting bit. Im nearly 36 weeks and very impatient. What did you do to kill time?

NO time is going very slow for me. i hope you go sooner than that! my little one is comfy in there too...my doctor didnt think i would make it to my friday appointment, but i think they say that to make you feel better. the full moon causes a change in gravity and it is suppose to help your water break. alot of nursery nurses swear that the nursery is always busier during a full moon, my mom being one of them....but, it looks like it didnt work for me =(

thats what sucks with the whole emotions thing these days, especially AFTER the baby. You get so upset and so worked up and when you try to talk to someone or understand why you are crying there really is no real reason other then you need a good cry. I was like that for two days and off and on here and there still!!! and yet I have no idea why I am crying... BUT I have to say once I talk to someone on the phone or come onhere and talk I am absolutley fine... CRAZY ASS HORMONES lol hang in there girl!

They want to check like every week here I think to assess how dialated and effaced you are and "getting checked" can stimulate the cervix and make your labor start possibly(retarded if you ask me) so when I say I don't want checked they are gonna act like that's not the best decision because I should want her to get things moving so so baby doesnt get bigger. And if they see that Im not dialating at all then they'll want to make a plan to induce or c-sec by a certain date if nothing is still happening after the "check". My Dr is actually very easy going but I still think Im going to feel pressured just because she'll think I should get checked. I know what oyu mean about the "blah blah blah". It's like they think you are ignorant and they are enlightening you on the realities. Well, we all know it can be bad so we certainly dont need to hear that. We might as well hope for the better case scenario cause we might just get it. If you are expecting the worse, the fear can cause so much tension that it could be bad when it may not have been otherwise. I hope you have a peaceful uncomplicated birth, I believe you will!

Hiya-
I've read that first babies on average come 8 days past their "due date" so I'm looking at another week out as my "real due date". I don't know if its true or not but I read it more than once. My Dr wants to "check" me this Wed. I haven't let her since week 36 and I don't think I'll let her now. I think it's better not to go in there and stir things up. I think I want my baby to come when shes ready and not get manipulated out any sooner which isn't good for either of us. My Dr said the "checking" might get something going. Well, I dont get it. I'm not appreciating the popularity of getting things moving! Its really irritating to me. Anyways, sorry if I sound like a whiner. I guess I just don't like the pressure and doubts that is creates. I'm having trouble with my replacement help for my business at the last minute too so I'm kinda stressed right now, oh yea, and I hurt my belly somehow, pulled or tore a muscle or something?? Whine, whine, whine, sorry< :) I am pretty happy most of the time, I just had a bad couple of days.
What is up with you?

Baby3onway - Monday, 15 September
Yes Koen was the smallest of the three... but again he was early so I don't mind a small one. The others just seem so much bigger to me now!! I have been great and with hubby out of a job right now I have had him home with me to help out... kinda hope I don't get use to it though! My mom also took the older two for three nights last week to give us time to adjust to the new baby. It was great. Labor dust your way though girly!! SOON!! How are you feeling these days? My emotions are back in tact now just waiting for my body to feel normal again!! lol
