My profile

Kia Ora, Hello!

My name is Zavana and im 22 years old and expecting my first child with my handsome partner Hamish.

Though our baby wasnt planned for this year,

it is still a blessing to be able to have him a year earlier!

**IM HAVING A HANDSOME LITTLE BOY!**

..I LOVE HIM TO PIECES..

I live in New Zealand and would love to chat with people from the same place.

I have been on this site ever since I found out I was pregnant, but have decided to join so I can chat to others about arising problems or concerns.

The week after that I had found out that I was pregnant ( Jan. 23rd was the day i found out) the morning or shall i say all day sickness kicked in. I had it from 7 weeks till about 14 weeks. Apart from that everything seems to be trucking along normally. :)

My Midwife is my partners Auntie in which is great, as she is a family member and I get to see her all the time unlike the other midwifes here in NZ in which seems to be so booked with others, that when you have an appointment with them, your time limited.

I AM LUCKY!

I am considering having a water birth at home, as the saying goes

" Theres no place like home!"

  • I finally felt my baby kick for the first time April 22nd. What an amazing experience it is to be able to feel this life inside of me kick and move around. And FINALLY Hamish was able to feel our baby move on the outside on June 19th!

Just wish sometimes that he wouldnt play soccer when im trying to get to sleep after work! :)

  • July 1st- Noticed my nipples starting to leak..Something that totally took me by suprize!

Hiya-
I've read that first babies on average come 8 days past their "due date" so I'm looking at another week out as my "real due date". I don't know if its true or not but I read it more than once. My Dr wants to "check" me this Wed. I haven't let her since week 36 and I don't think I'll let her now. I think it's better not to go in there and stir things up. I think I want my baby to come when shes ready and not get manipulated out any sooner which isn't good for either of us. My Dr said the "checking" might get something going. Well, I dont get it. I'm not appreciating the popularity of getting things moving! Its really irritating to me. Anyways, sorry if I sound like a whiner. I guess I just don't like the pressure and doubts that is creates. I'm having trouble with my replacement help for my business at the last minute too so I'm kinda stressed right now, oh yea, and I hurt my belly somehow, pulled or tore a muscle or something?? Whine, whine, whine, sorry< :) I am pretty happy most of the time, I just had a bad couple of days.
What is up with you?

Baby3onway - Monday, 15 September
Yes Koen was the smallest of the three... but again he was early so I don't mind a small one. The others just seem so much bigger to me now!! I have been great and with hubby out of a job right now I have had him home with me to help out... kinda hope I don't get use to it though! My mom also took the older two for three nights last week to give us time to adjust to the new baby. It was great. Labor dust your way though girly!! SOON!! How are you feeling these days? My emotions are back in tact now just waiting for my body to feel normal again!! lol

cookiejar - Monday, 15 September
I think mine might come earlier, but that's just my guess based on the uncomfortable I'm getting, lol. I know how much I've gained because every time i have an appointment they weight me, and I'm too curios, so I always ask, ha,ha. Well I don't think the weight it's a big deal most of it it's baby's weight. And he needs to be healthy!
Glad you are still feeling great!

I can so not sleep. I took a tylenol pm so hopfully that will at least make it so I can turn my brain off for a short time. I am counting the hours down but goofing on the web is helping me to not stare at the clock. Hoping to be sleepy in an hour or so but we'll see. I bet you are getting excited for your baby too. I so loved the experience of one baby. I bet 2 will be just as amazing but the 1 on 1 with your first is so wonderful. You can stare at them all day if you want. And you will. You sleep when they do. Your whole world revolves around this perfect little person and you don't care that it is no longer all about you. They just fill you with such joy and satisfaction that you would do anything for them. Let me tell you, when they get a cold and are all boogerey and those little nose plungers aren't doing the trick and you realize the only way to relieve their misery is to go fishing and you don't cringe, that is when you know you are a mom. LOL. That goes away once they learn to pick their nose and show you their 'treasure'. Boy let me tell you! Ha ha ha

I think that you are right. When your body is getting ready to kick the baby out, I bet your highly emotional. I honestly don't remember the weeks leading up to my 1st being born other than aweful backaches. But I am still married and we have done this 2x plus a home remodel. The only thing left for us to endure together is a death in the family. Not that I want that but they saw those are the leading causes for divorce and thus far we are still happy. Nervous at the moment but still happy in general.

Oh man I am so moody and sensitive too. Dh grandma cornered him yeserday and was talking to him. I followed Ben so I didn't have to talk to her (she is super nuts) and after about 5-10 minutes he left to get me and was telling me what she said to him. She told him he was going gray (which is so not happening) and that he needed to go on a diet! Who says that!? She is just lucky I wasn't standing there cuz I would have put her in her place right there. So today she comes to me and wants a hug. (I am so not a touchy feely person) So I asked her if she was gonna tell me I needed to go on a diet too? She looked baffled. I was like 'and I know I have no grays cuz I just got my color redone.' She looked at Dh and asked if he was offended by her comments? Who wouldn't be? She says 'I only said those things out of love.' Your family never wants to talk to you and when they can't avoid it you insult them!? Then there was a whole separate thing with his mom. But they never say this crap when I am around to defend him. And he will take alot of it in silence. She totally guilted him over us not letting them spend more time with Ben. Ok so we are having a new addition to our family tomorrow and this is the last weekend we have just Ben and us and you want to take him away? Oh yeah that is nice. Plus we have all this change and crazy emotions flying all over the map and you want to make him feel more stress over your guilt? I told him he could talk to him grandma at the hospital and blame it all on my hormones and the fact that I am very protective of my family. So I have some serious high tension going on. And I can only imagine that is your thing too. What are ppl thinking saying that kind of stuff to us? They are lucky there are laws against assault! So I may check in here tomorrow morning but I may be so nervous that I just disinfect everything again and again. But in 20 hours I will be getting this baby out one way or another.

Everything is fine! My next ultrasound will be in 2 weeks and we are going to find out how much he has grown!
He kicks very hard sometimes, It feels like he is kickboxing!,lol.
How do you feel, your belly it's not too big, so I figure you haven't gained much weight, have you?
My back is very sore today and my belly too, I think it might be because I was packing today and it's full moon, ha,ha.

PICTURES ARE THERE.. but only a few

Baby3onway - Saturday, 13 September
I'm doing great.. been kinda feeling off the past few days. Day 5 at home I ended up binding myself and giving up on the whole nursing thing. I was so emotional and just couldn't handle the uncomfortable part of engorgmwnt and the feedings ever 1-2 hours... my body and emotions with two other children to take after, I just couldn't do it. To top it off, giving it all up just like that made me emotional too cause I felt like I wasn't trying hard enough to do whats best for him. I'm getting better though and not as emotional but now I'm sick!! lol How are you feeling these days?

tandiann - Saturday, 13 September
Well, the oven was off but I didn't realize what time it was so I had to turn it on and put dinner in. So I guess it was a good thing I was having a hot flash. Ha ha ha.

tandiann - Saturday, 13 September
I am 5'4". But I have a short torso and longer inseam so I look disproportionate. I have fallen over a few times but I am usually squated next to my son to tie a shoe or give a hug or hear him and he will nudge me and over I go. He thinks it is a riot. I am of a different opinion. Your house will go fast. Especially if our DH has got that 'it's coming' instinct. I know when that kicked in for mine he bacame like a machine getting things done way into the night. Like midnight 1am. But it looks awesome and I am super relieved for it to be done. Still gotta tackle Bens room but should be easy. I am roasting for some reason right now. Better go check the oven, we made cookies and I am pretty sure I turned it off but I am a ditz lately.

cookiejar - Friday, 12 September
Your baby it's almost here! I bet you are excited!
I can't remember if i ask you about the name?
I can't wait to see pics of your baby!
