God has been wonderful to me and has blessed me with two beautiful daughters.. I almost had my first daughter Mariah at 6 months into pregnancy and the doctors had stopped the preterm labor.. I than had her full term at 37 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy. She is a very smart and quick witted little being she acknowledges God in her life and prays every single night with no one even telling her to.. she even ask us if we have prayed!....My second daughter when I had gotten pregnant during the first trimester I was told I had a hematoma and I was told there was a 50 50 chance of the pregnancy being successful I accepted the chance and prayed in leaving it to the heavenly father once we got past the first trimester I knew my baby would be ok.. I still took it lightly in my activities..at 33 weeks I lost my mucus plug and began cramping I rushed to the hospital where they told me I was in preterm labor.. they worked on me to stop the contractions and gave me some medication to take home. To their calculations I had 2 weeks before actual labor begins.. I prayed I made it to the safe zone of 37 weeks at least... I had my Ahriana at 35 weeks of pregnancy my water broke ( check my birth story in my blog) there was no turning back.. I thought I was going to lose her in the trauma of labor but once again God showed who the true giver and controller of life is.. she was born 5 pounds 5ounces and 18 inches.. she is a breastfed baby at birth ..although I had to give her a tiny bit of formula to get her out the hospital(she was able to leave with me) and once she got home it was strictly breast no formula.. she is gaining weight and a very happy little jellybean.. I love my children and most of all love the Lord for blessing my life with such peace and happiness.
Ahriana 3months almost 4 soon!

Saturday, 7 June Hi NY mom, I find that you'll have people give you their opinion on BFing all the time. It used to really get to me... especially my inlaw mom telling me it's kinky and obscene. Some people are just ignorant and that's the way the are! remember why you are doing it... it's the best thing! If you wanted to take an easier way out you'd bottle feed! maybe your sis inlaw just wants you to have fun at her wedding which is kinda nice.... I know a lot of people used to get on me about BFing but they were mostly saying.. "It seems hard... I couldn't do it." but they were saying it in offensive ways. keep your head up and boobs out honey!!! haha! Roxy-Girl -

Wednesday, 4 June I went to that doctor because he is the one I initially saw when I was unsure about whether I had an ectopic pregnancy. I already knew that I wanted a midwife, but my husband wasn't so sure. After comparing costs of the midwife versus the hospitals and doctor, he wanted me to use the midwife. We basically found the doctor from the phone book and were in a hurry to get in to see one since I was scared. After we told the accounts payable girl that we were going to use a midwife, the doctor called me and assured me that he would do anything he could to help me out if I needed him to--sonograms or whatever. So, when I got this infection, I went to him because he said he'd help me with anything I needed that the midwife couldn't do. That's why I went back to him. I will see him once more only (hopefully) for the sonogram, which is more convenient for me than getting the sonogram done in Mobile, Alabama. When I told my husband about the visit, he said in response to the doctor, "And, next. We've already made our decision. Thanks." My husband doesn't beat around the bush. I think he would have said that to the doctor's face. lol Anyway, in a nationwide study, it was found that most c-sections happen at 4:00 and 10:00 so that doctors can get home. If your labor isn't progressing as rapidly as they want it to because their stomachs are growling or they have dates or something, they'll cut you open in a heart beat and not think a thing about it. Who wants an ugly scar for life? Well, in response to your message about birth control, I have used two different forms of birth control at two different times in my life -- when I was 16 and when I was 27. Both times I had horrible experiences. I actually got cramps for the first time ever when I first tried birth control. I had never had them before that. The second time, I got severe leg cramps and weak legs and facial hair growth. I stopped quickly both times. Even if the cramps and weak legs stopped after a time, I did not want the facial hair. It's none of that doctor's business what you do. All she needs to do is provide you with information, not bully you into making a decision. It's funny that they'll try to get you to not have babies, but they don't even discuss different methods of turning breeches or of avoiding c-sections. They don't even tell you about nutrition and exercise. Sigh. Malpractice! collsbaby -
Wednesday, 4 June I'm dealing with thrush too. I used gentian violet and was told to only use it if you have pain. My neighbor is a lactation consultant and she said that you use such a small amount that it's fine for baby. They would have to drink the entire thing, even a few bottles to get any bad effects from it like cancer. It helped me with the pain. Good luck! Thrush is a b!tch!! littlecavalier -
Wednesday, 4 June Just looked at your page, your girls are so precious! I can't wait until Travis is a big brother!!! littlecavalier -
Wednesday, 4 June Ok, I'm not one to argue with doctors, but I looked up nystatin to make sure that my pediatrician hadn't given me bad information. It looks like she was right on though and I'm not sure why your pediatrician doesn't want you to split the dosage. Here is just one sight I found (there were lots so I think it's trustworthy)
What other drugs will affect nystatin?
Since nystatin is not absorbed by your body, drug interactions are not expected. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking other prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
Here's the site that's from: http://www.peacehealth.org/kbase/multum/d01233a1.htm
The normal dosage for nystatin is four times a day, the reason my pediatrician told me to split it up was because the yeast had spread to my nipples so if the baby picked up more yeast from me then I gave the medicine right after feeding so it wouldn't grow in his mouth. Maybe since your nipples don't appear to be affected they think that it's only coming from your baby and that's why you don't have to do it after she eats?? I don't know but I really don't understand why they only have you give it to her once a day. When I gave it to Travis 4 times a day it didn't work, but when I gave it to him after every feeding it did (which is a royal pain in the middle of the night but anything to get rid of the yeasties :-))
I hope you're not upset with me for disagreeing with your pediatrician. I have just learned that they don't all know everything and I have a hard time trusting just them when it comes to my baby! The first time I had a yeast infection my doctor told me that I could do the over the counter medicine but that I had to stop breastfeeding for a week. Forget that, that was at the beginning so I didn't even have a good supply in the freezer. I called Travis' pediatrician and she said it was fine to continue breastfeeding while using the over the counter stuff. I find that every doctor gives different advice which is just frustrating! Ok, I'll stop filling your page with my babble :-). Hope you are able to get the yeast out of your house! Have a great week!! Traviesa -

Tuesday, 3 June Thank you for responding to my message on breasfeeding. I thought there was something really wrong with me. My baby is 2 months and if I pump I can only get about 1/2 ounce from my left breast and about 3 ounces from my right. I breast fed my girls years ago and I never had this problem..I've continued to breastfeed but I do supplement with formula after I have breastfed him. Traviesa -
Tuesday, 3 June you use the little brush to clean baby's mouth this young? no one ever mentioned that to me.. babymakes3 -
Saturday, 31 May So glad the shells helped you out. I wish I had known about them with my first 2 children. They definitely saved my nipples this time around!

Saturday, 31 May Thank God your baby is okay!! Did your doctor say what can be done to prevent the baby from going blue like that?? How scary! I am so glad that everything is better now. I often check on my baby to make sure she is breathing when she sleeps for longer periods of time, but it is impossible to constantly look at her to make sure she is okay. I know that for some babies they have monitors that they can wear while sleeping to check their breathing (they can have something to check their pulse and oxygen that they wear on their foot); I have seen it given to a baby with sleep apnea...I would guess that your baby would not qualify because it was only one instance?? But for piece of mind, you might want to ask. dennisse -
