God has been wonderful to me and has blessed me with two beautiful daughters.. I almost had my first daughter Mariah at 6 months into pregnancy and the doctors had stopped the preterm labor.. I than had her full term at 37 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy. She is a very smart and quick witted little being she acknowledges God in her life and prays every single night with no one even telling her to.. she even ask us if we have prayed!....My second daughter when I had gotten pregnant during the first trimester I was told I had a hematoma and I was told there was a 50 50 chance of the pregnancy being successful I accepted the chance and prayed in leaving it to the heavenly father once we got past the first trimester I knew my baby would be ok.. I still took it lightly in my activities..at 33 weeks I lost my mucus plug and began cramping I rushed to the hospital where they told me I was in preterm labor.. they worked on me to stop the contractions and gave me some medication to take home. To their calculations I had 2 weeks before actual labor begins.. I prayed I made it to the safe zone of 37 weeks at least... I had my Ahriana at 35 weeks of pregnancy my water broke ( check my birth story in my blog) there was no turning back.. I thought I was going to lose her in the trauma of labor but once again God showed who the true giver and controller of life is.. she was born 5 pounds 5ounces and 18 inches.. she is a breastfed baby at birth ..although I had to give her a tiny bit of formula to get her out the hospital(she was able to leave with me) and once she got home it was strictly breast no formula.. she is gaining weight and a very happy little jellybean.. I love my children and most of all love the Lord for blessing my life with such peace and happiness.

My Dr. said it was fine...if I were you I would contact La Leche, they are the BF experts. I didn't throw mine out and Sadie is fine.

Traviesa - Tuesday, 3 June

Thank you for responding to my message on breasfeeding. I thought there was something really wrong with me. My baby is 2 months and if I pump I can only get about 1/2 ounce from my left breast and about 3 ounces from my right. I breast fed my girls years ago and I never had this problem..I've continued to breastfeed but I do supplement with formula after I have breastfed him.

Traviesa - Tuesday, 3 June
you use the little brush to clean baby's mouth this young? no one ever mentioned that to me..

So glad the shells helped you out. I wish I had known about them with my first 2 children. They definitely saved my nipples this time around!

Peach - Saturday, 31 May
Thank God your baby is okay!! Did your doctor say what can be done to prevent the baby from going blue like that?? How scary! I am so glad that everything is better now. I often check on my baby to make sure she is breathing when she sleeps for longer periods of time, but it is impossible to constantly look at her to make sure she is okay. I know that for some babies they have monitors that they can wear while sleeping to check their breathing (they can have something to check their pulse and oxygen that they wear on their foot); I have seen it given to a baby with sleep apnea...I would guess that your baby would not qualify because it was only one instance?? But for piece of mind, you might want to ask.

it sounds like a good deal that your daughter is going longer between feeds! And I would just go with the cues that your daughter gives. If she is super tired / lethargic though, please check her temperature. My son was 'suddenly' real tired and landed up being sick. But I'm sure that your daughter's tummy is getting bigger and that she therefore does not need to feed as often.

treasa - Tuesday, 27 May

PRETTIEST MOM
Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

Milmom2be - Sunday, 25 May
Hey, saw your birth control post, I am going to get the copper IUD. It has no hormones at all. Turns out copper kills sperm, who would have thought? It can stay in 5 yrs, but you can have it removed whenever you feel ready to try again. And after it comes out there is not wait time for you to become fertile again. There is also an IUD with progesterone only, but it is so low dose it doesn't circulate your system, but stays localised in your reproductive organs... So shouldn't effect your moods or your breast milk... These are the top two options my OB talked to me about as she knows I am BF and she is really suportive and didn't want to effect my milk supply. I hope this has helped, and am surprised your doc didn't bring it up to you, but hey, if condoms work for you and your husband, use condoms, don't let anyone bully you into doing something you know will adversely affect your life! Good Luck...

dennisse - Sunday, 25 May
Hey hun! I have a question! I don't remenber what I should do to stop breas-feeding? Matthew doesn't want my breast any moore and I don't want to keep pumping? any advice please?

cristty - Saturday, 24 May
Yes it's que liquid form for babies... he was up agian last night untill around 1am... every night he starts to cry around 10 and on ly stops around 1am... don't know what to do anymore... during the day he is fine... cries a little after I feed him but then he sleeps... hopefully this med will start working tonight... I'm so tired!!!

littletonmommy - Friday, 23 May
I had my 6 wk check and my dr was the same- "we have to get you on birth control right away" He said due to my breastfeeding and not wanting to chance messing that up my only options are Depo or IUD (5yr or 10yr). I won't do Depo- I turn scary bit**y and is stays in my system too long, and an IUD seems like a waste being the longest I want to wait is 1.5 yrs or so. So I elected to do comdoms and like you if one breaks and I get pregnant sooner- oh well. We will deal with it, no tragedy. I am 26 and married we will make do. Plus with the frequency of sex in our marriage I am not worried about it. Sex once every 4-5 weeks reduce your chance anyway. Hehe...
