• jcpm- I wouldnt worry about her weight. It seems like you are doing everything that you should be doing. My daughter turns 3 in Oct and weighs 24lbs. The doctor told me it was just because she is so active. Unless she is showing any signs of being unhealthy- ie- lack of energy, bones sticking out oddly, etc, I wouldnt worry. Just remember…[Read more]

  • 1byfaith- Your body produces milk on demand. If you had a baby that nursed for an hour at a time, every 2 1/2 hours(it happened to my mother) then your body would make the milk to satisfy baby. With my mom she had 3 letdowns during the course of one feeding, on both sides. Then afterwards she could still go and pump…if she wanted to;) Just…[Read more]

Just a ? for all you mom’s and moms-to-be out there…has anyone decided on a birth plan yet? Also, is anyone planning on having(or have had) older siblings in the room during delivery? If anyone could give me some tips to prepare my daughter for the birth i’d appreciate it.

j-lynn-when we told my FIL that we didnt want him in the delivery room he laughed and told us that he would come anyway. After all, he only lived 5 min from the hospital…I had my DH talk to him and he told my DH that she is his grandchild so he had a right to see her birth. Needless to say he didnt know I was in labor until after she was born.…[Read more]

  • jamie79- My daughter would only nurse for a max of 5 minutes at a time. 3 on one breast and 2 on the other. My milk just came out really fast. If you are worried about it, at your next dr appt. Nurse your baby right after weighing and then weigh again to see how much intake. Also – my daughter slept 6 hours at night without waking. then…[Read more]

  • hi yall, im just popping by, and i’d thought that id share some advice that worked well with my daughter(33mon) who stopped nursing at 22 mon. Whenever I needed to substitute, since she wouldnt take a bottle, I put the breastmilk in a sippy cup(the kind with the soft nipple) nuby brand(available at walmart) She would take it if it was given to…[Read more]

  • This is so bogus! It says that my baby will only cost 219.00 I know that I already have the stuff, this being baby #2, but I have a few things to buy…not to mention that their estimate of cloth diapers is way off! I still need to buy small diapers and that alone will run me about 100.00…not to mention the fact that those only fit for up to…[Read more]

  • So I thought I would share what my dr. told me about the h1n1 vaccine. She personally said that she wouldn’t recommend that I get it(everyone is different so talk to your own doctor.) She doesn’t feel comfortable giving it to pregnant women because of the limited testing. She recommended that I get the regular flu vaccine to give my body an…[Read more]
