Will anyones LO breastfeed out of boredom at home? My DD will stay on my breast all day long while we are home if I let her, but she can be perfectly content without me if we are out. Its frustrating because if I deny her she throws a massive tantrum, like on stomach fists flailing and feet kicking. Its crazy! I dont have any idea what to do. By…[Read more]

I know this isn’t really a breastfeeding question, but I trust your advice. Do any of your LO’s have a reaction to green grapes? I have tried a few seperate times to give them to her and she always seems to get a really nasty inflamed diaper rash from them. She can eat red grapes and drink white grape juice and not have an issue. Do you ladies…[Read more]

Hi ladies! I just wanted to pop in and say that my daughter is 9 months old today and we are still breastfeeding! I am very excited as with my 2 year old son I could never get him to latch and he was pretty much on formula from day 1. Chloe is now 18 lbs and very healthy. I just need to convince her to sleep through the night in her crib. That has…[Read more]

katjak7, I can’t believe that your 1 yr old weighs more than my 2 1/2 yr old! He just hit about 31 lbs recently! How tall is your daughter?

I have a Mirena IUD and so far no problems. I got it 6 weeks ago, and my daughter just turned 9 months. I havent had any problems with supply, but I dont know if its just because its been well established for a while now or the IUD itself has had no effect. I was uncomfortable for a few days after having it put in, waited to have sex for just over…[Read more]

Ive had a mirena IUD since Feb. I like it so far. I bled for a few weeks but nothing since. I had cramps 2 days after having it put in, but my daughter was 8 months old so I have no idea if that had anything to do with it.

I have never heard that you couldnt go into the hot tub while breastfeeding. Also you should be just fine swimming. Pool water cannot get into you breasts at all. I would just be sure to shower afterward to get any chlorine off of your nipples.

I have to share my frustrations… I haven’t had a period since Sept 2008 as I was pregnant and now breastfeeding, but I get my first period right before Valentines Day! Crapola! At least I can say it is not terrible, I’m bearly bleeding at all. Its more spotting than anything, but still enough to get in the way of any ‘FUN’ my husband had planned…[Read more]

I need help trying to figure out what I should do with my LO. She is just over 6 weeks old, and EBF. I can’t get her to take a bottle at all, not even BM. I also can’t get her to take any kind of a pacifier. I have tried many brands of bottles and pacifiers, but nothing seems to entice her. My real concern is that she does quite a bit of comfort…[Read more]

I love my Medela Swing pump. Its perfect for me as a stay at home mom, who only needs to pump every so often. plus it runs on batteries too, so it came in handy for the roadtrip I was on while my daughter was sleeping I could pump. its great because it has that 2 phase expression thing that mimics letdown so you can pump quite a bit.

Tannersmommy33, are you from milwaukee? Fox 6 is the channel I saw this on the other day, the date stamp on it says May 3rd but maybe they re-ran the story after all those co-sleeping deaths there has been recently. Thank you for posting the link to the story, I couldnt seem to find it.

I had a mirena IUD put in back at the beginning of february when my daughter was 7.5 mo. I hadnt had my period yet, but didnt want to risk getting pregnant by accident. It was kinda uncomfortable getting it put in, but havent had any problems since then. My supply has been totally fine, as my daughter is still on about 90% BM/ 10% food even at 11 mo.

its nice to know that my daughter isnt the only one doing crazy nursing things in the morning. Normally she’ll wake up and I’ll bring her back to bed with me, she’ll feed from both sides then she wakes up fully and starts crawling all over me, and since I usually sleep topless she’ll just stop playing to lean over me and eat. its cute until she…[Read more]

I was just gonna say that I had the only smaller baby on here! My DD was 6 lbs 9oz at birth and 19 lbs 13 oz at her year appointment on June 25th. The funny thing is that my MIL calls her ‘Chunka Munka’! Chloe would be dwarfed by all your kiddos! She is also somewhere between 27.5″ and 29″, there was a difference between how WIC measured and how…[Read more]

Im very excited myself as a week from now my daughter will be turning 1. I have no plans in the near future to stop breastfeeding, but I have a feeling people will start giving me a hard time about it, especially my husbands mother. So here goes nothing, onto year two of breastfeeding!

wow Bri, Chloe is fitting into 12 month clothes but we recently picked up some 6-9 mo onesies that she can wear without too much of an issue!

  • JeniWalker replied to the topic in the forum Group logo of Trying To ConceiveTrying to Conceive Forum 3 years, 7 months ago

Bri, yes in many of the cases the mom (or whoever was in charge of taking care of the infant) was drinking and/or doing drugs of some kind. It makes me sick to think of the irresponsibility/ immaturity of these people that weren’t able to delay self gratification long enough to care for the child in their care.

I don’t think that I would have such the issue with it if I could get things done around the house. We have been awake for an hour and she has already ‘nibbled'(cute way to refer to it btw) 5 times, and this is after her waking up at 1 am to sleep with me and she eats the entire time.
