My best friend had the news of calcium deposits on her baby girls heart at 19 weeks also. She did not get the blood tests for DS early on bc she wouldnt have aborted anyway…but there were no other markers for downs. While checking that they thought they saw something wrong with the babys lung also. This baby girl is my goddaugther and it was a…[Read more]

My friends daughter (my goddaughter) had calcium deposits on her heart also…they went away before she was born and she is a perfectly healthy 11 month old beauty now 🙂 That alone is not a sign of downs! I wish you the best

  • Halina-i literally got out of bed to use the bathroom…take a 10 min shower every other day and go to the dr once a week and that was it. I am not sure if that was exactly what my dr meant for me to do but i wasnt take any chances and i am so thankful today that i didnt. I couldnt imagine my world without my little girl <3

  • Jen-has your dr put you on any type of bedrest? Are you being rescanned in a week or so to check again? My history is that I had my 1st at 41w 5d and have no risk factors for ic but as of now I have a 2.8cm cervix and am on strict bedrest w vaginal supp. I would reccomend with your history that you put youself on bedrest if the dr hasn’t done so.…[Read more]

  • I also see that u are expecting twins! Kudos to u! That makes it a lot more understandable as to why your dr isn’t gonna let u off full bedrest…twice the weight on that poor cervix! The up side is that 35 weeks is full term w twins!

  • Bedrest is def a tough thing. I don’t know how some ppl can even do it. Luckily I’ve been staying w my parents while dh works 2 jobs. My parents take care of me and my 3 yr old dd. If they were around bedrest wouldn’t be possible. I can garuntee u that if my cervix measures a lot shorter on monday my butt will be in bed until 36 weeks at least.…[Read more]

  • my 13 month old daughter weighs 17.4lb and is 28.5 inches long so shes a tiny one. My older daughter is just about 5 and is 32lbs so they are both small. It is just genetics in our case…they always gain just not much

  • Julia- well im glad my dr isn’t the only one who thinks after 35 weeks is a safe time to resume life! They will obv check me again around that time and if all is still stable I think normal life is ok. Some drs don’t even think 2.8cm warrants bedrest but im def willing to do it until im at that safe place

  • Thank u ladies for your input on that. I guess ill just have to put all of my trust into my drs and see what they think! They are the professionals and that’s what they are there for lol

  • Rahom- I have not been diagnosed with ic. My drs are just confused with this bc of my perfect history that’s all. Its a big mystery they have never seen something like it before where someone has to be induced bc her cervix will not dialate and then has ic so they won’t diagnose it as that. They think this may be my cervixs natural way. I guess it…[Read more]

  • From what I have heard my dr won’t keep me on bedrest past 37 weeks anyway bc that’s full term. Lst week he said that after 34 weeks it should be safe for me to work and take it easy other then that. I guess we will see what my peri says on mon after the us…my drs don’t feel like I am going to go into labor the minute I get off of bedrest…[Read more]

  • Does anyone think it is unsafe of me to ask my dr if I can go back to work at 35 weeks? I have a desk job and really want to go for a few weeks b4 rylee comes. My cervix has been stable at 2.8cm for 6 weeks. I have an us with my peri on mon and an appt with my obgyn on tues and I wanted to ask them. I’ve had 2 of my obs say that they don’t think…[Read more]

  • Julia- that’s similar to my situation. I gave birth to my daughter after being induced at 41w 5d. I never had a scan after 19 weeks with her so my dr is unsure if I had a short cervix in that pregnancy too. My dr told me about a lady who was walking around with a 2cm cervix until 36 weeks so I think the strength of your cervix is more important…[Read more]

  • Julia- are you on bedrest or anything? That measurement isn’t too bad…I’ve been at 2.8 since 26 weeks and im now 32 weeks. Good luck w the test! I failed the 1 hour by 5 points and passed the 3 hour with flying colors so im sure you will be just fine! Did u have any cervical problems with your first?

  • Fingercrossed-it seems strange that they would not give u a cerclage knowing of your weak cervix. My situation is the opposite. I delivered my 1st at 41w 5d with no problems during the pregnancy but I didn’t have any scans after 19 weeks so this could all be a normal process for my cervix. I think you should talk to a specialst about this while u…[Read more]

  • Ell- I totally agree with GA lol. I think the reason my first pregnancy went so smooth is that I was 19 and had no idea anything could go wrong in a pregnancy so I never looked anything up! This time around I self diagnose! I had a pain where I know the placenta is (u learn exactly where these things are when uve had 20 ultrasounds lol) and I…[Read more]

  • N351- if you go on bedrest you can most likely drag it out a bit longer. If your contractions are frequent they should be able to give you meds to stop them. Even if u make it only 3 more weeks 36 weeks is a great place. Good luck!

  • Kerrilynn-I am assuming your Dr has said strict bedrest until the end right? With that length you def wanna stay down. Keep your feet up and a pillow under your hips if possible. Are you seeing a high risk specialist now?

  • Kimikebaby- I usually go with a semi full bladder…I don’t drive myself crazy drinking a ton just don’t use the bathroom right before u go. It is easier to see via abnominal us with something in your bladder. My peri used to take those measurements then have me empty my bladder and do the vaginal us. Now he’s just doing the TAU bc he doesn’t find…[Read more]

  • I can totally relate to looking up way to much stuff! I researched ic for no reason and then the second my dr said my cervix seemed short I lost it and told him of the stories I read and he said to stop reading things and just trust him lol. He’s motto is if u go searching for a problem u will find one so just take things as they come…no what…[Read more]
