• I am so glad to have been recommended to this forum. When my LO was born she lost more than her 10% weight. I was strictly breastfeeding and she just kept fighting the breast, so the Dr had me do ten minutes each breast then the rest suplement for 4days. After she gained her birth weight I went straight to breastmilk again, but I found that I…[Read more]

so I’m confused. I went to the Dr for a one week follow up for my baby girl. She lost more than her 10% weight. I know breastfed babies will lose more weight, but the Dr wants me to do 12min on each breast then supplement until Monday. Is this something that I’m always going to have to do if she drops weight again? How do you ladies keep your…[Read more]

Hi ladies, I have been exclusively pumping for 9months, the LO turns turns one in August. My goal is for the one year mark on breastmilk, so I would like to know how do I stop producing milk? I pump 6X’s in a 24hr period. I don’t want to be engorged or get an infection. My goal is to be pump free for her one year bday. Thanks

My LO is 3wks and I have been exclusively pumping, ever since she lost more than her 10% weight is scared me so I just gave it to her in a bottle. Now she is nice and plump. After reading everyones comments on how patient and persistant everyone is I am going to try and latch her on at night time feedings, thanks for the inspiration ladies. Also…[Read more]

Hi, ladies. When I have bottles in an insulated tote with ice packs and the baby wants a bottle, can she drink it at that room temperature or do I have to warm it up? My baby is 6 days old and she will have her first Dr visit and I wanted to take some bottles in case she has a fit. Thanks.

I exculsively pump and if I miss a session I become engorged I usually pump around 4-6oz. My LO will be 3months next week and I’m no way near seeing the light of ending the pumping sessions. But I would like to know how does one stop producing milk with out being engorged? What are the proper steps? So looking forward to her one year bday lol

soonmommyof2boys- I have the double electric Lansinoh breast pump, and I LOVE IT. I use it 8 times a day. It’s way cheaper than the Medela one and just as powerful, I used the Medlea one at the hospital and it was more technical. The Lansinoh is straight to the point and get’s the job done. I use all Lansionh prouducts. It’s high quality stuff.

1Byfaith, thank you for the feedback. I will look into the website. My new years resolution is to join WeightWatchers, they have a program built for nursing mothers. I would usually follow their plan to maintain befor the LO. Great job on your progress.

My LO is 3 1/2 weeks and she drinks 4oz ( I do exclusivly pumping) how do you know if you have a low supply on milk? Right now I only make what she drinks, and I can’t seem to stock up. I have to return to work in October, and what I have been forced to do is supplement night time feedings with formula in order to stock up on BF milk, any tips ladies???

I read that drinking beer can help increase your milk supply, if I drink just one is that enough to see a difference (not much of a beer fan). Or does wine or other alcohol have the same dosage effect?

For those ladies who exclusively pump (sorry there is not much activity in that forum) It says I should aim to pump for approximately 20-30 minutes per breast, but I am able to empty my breast in 10minutes and I empty 6-7oz each session, so I have been wondering maybe I’m not losing any weight and I’ve plateau because I’m not actually mimicking…[Read more]
