Excited – breastmilk can be stored in a deep freezer for 6-12 months.

m.e.a – If that is how much your baby demands that is ok. Since it is supply and demand – your body will make as much as your baby needs. SO if you baby only nurses for a bit, your body will know how much milk to make. Sounds like your baby could just be a efficient nurser!

We use the Nuby, as well.

lilbit9729 – Is there a reason you think you don’t have enough milk for your baby? Supplementing with formula will just cause a more dramatic drop in supply.

Just did the math – 6 weeks is prime time for a growth spurt. It will be over before you know it!

HannahKay – I’m still nursing my 15 month old. If you feel the teeth, they aren’t latched correctly. Suckling doesn’t involve the gums (or teeth) so unless he is latched wrong, I don’t feel his teeth. If you meant if he bites- I just taught him not to bite. Just like you would do with any child that bites, at the breast or not.

Brie – I got mine at 4.5 months. However, my good friend has a 13 month old and still hasn’t had hers!!

Jessicalynn21 – I would apply warm compresses to it, massage it, and keep pumping.
T3POandR2D2 replied to the topic Breastfeeding in the forum Babies Forum 3 years, 7 months ago
Cosmomama – your supply will regulate to your baby’s needs. If you pump after each feed, you will continue to make more than your baby needs. If you don’t, your supply will regulate itself. If you want to pump, then try to find a way to do so after a feed but, if not, I wouldn’t pump afterwards. That will just cause you to keep producing more.…[Read more]

jacquecmsu – Sometimes is takes longer for milk to come in. Assure her that the baby is still getting colostrum and that is all they need until the milk comes in. Tell her to not give any formula, as this can and will delay the appearence of her milk. Also, tell her it is normal, some women can take a while before their milk comes in, as long as…[Read more]

Remember – 3 weeks is a prime time for a growth spurt. Perhaps that is what is going on.

MyBabySuprise – 3 weeks? 3 weeks is prime time for a MAJOR growth spurt. If your son is having enough diapers – they do not need to be soaked – and pooping – breastfed babies tend to poop less after a few weeks because they take in all the nutrients and have little left for waste – there is nothing to worry about. What he is doing is nursing more…[Read more]

MyBabySuprise – Nipple confusion is very real. It’s the name that is actually misleading. Babies use different muscles to get milk out of a breast that they use for a bottle. Bottles are ‘easier’ for the milk to come out of so that is why they tell you to wait (for most babies, anyway) because the possibilty of your baby growing a preference to the bottle.

Hannahkay – Thats pretty normal. Your body just went through some crazy hormonal changes and now that you’re breastfeeding, you’re going through a whole different kind of hormonal change.

Ugh, everyone I know, including myself, had HORRID anxiety while taking Reglan. I HATED it. I got it after 2 doses, as well.

lmgibson – You’re not doing anything wrong. Technically, if you haven’t gotten back by 6 weeks you’re normal (some women *do* get it earlier but not normally) and since you are 6.5 weeks pp it’s pretty normal. You can drink protein shakes while breastfeeding but dieting isn’t something that should be considered. While your body will make healthy…[Read more]

SecondStar – If you really want to introduce something to your baby but are worried about nipple confusion you could try introducing a cup. It won’t mess with their suckling ability like a bottle possibly could. My son was never a bottle fan but has taken cups since about 2 weeks old.
