• How much breast milk is your LO’s eating? Mine is 6 weeks old and eating about 4.5 oz each feeding. Just wondering if this is normal…

  • I pump every three hours and get 6 or 7 oz typically between the two. my lo wouldnt latch because of forceful letdown,,,

  • Okay for those of us who are exclusively pumping… what do you do to increase your supply?
Usually I just add a little more time to my pumping- but wasn’t sure what others are doing…

  • i finally am training my body to go 6 hours at night without pumping or feeding- since my LO only eats once at night! phew! sleep, here i come!

  • Goodness, talk about engorged! Last night was my first night of purposely cutting out the 3am pumping. I think I may bust! I am planning to be done with pumping bu May, when my LO is 9 months old. We have a lot of milk stored up, enough to take her to the 1 year mark- so we will be using that after May. I am a huge over producer, so I am expecting…[Read more]

Mummy and Dominique: I found that for our family it was easiest to pump. I went back to work at 4 weeks, and my daughter would never latch well. So for us, it works.
I couldn’t imagine being at her beck and call all the time!

  • mom1973- babies have very small stomachs at this point. That is all you need right now. Keep pumping (usually 15-20 mins) and the supply will go up. Don’t stress out over it. There stomach walls don’t stretch at that age so they eat very little.

For those pumping at work, are you in the US? If you are, they are not able to legally ask you to…[Read more]

  • That means 203 more days to go! 😀

  • I am so excited. I have decided to give myself permission to stop pumping on my birthday (May 2011). I will have pumped for 9 months and have plenty saved up to make it through 1 year to 1.5 years. (I am an overproducer) It makes it a little more bearable to have an end in sight…

  • mommyofmm- it is totally normal. I usually pump a total of 6-7oz… 4 oz from one breast and 2 or 3 from the other.

  • mist2102- I am using the Paragard IUD for BC so that it wouldn’t affect me due to hormones. You may want to look into it.

  • mommyof2in10- do some research on babies who only get foremilk. It is the more watery milk that comes first during a feeding. It causes stomach upset and explosive poops because it digests so fast. We had this issue with my LO because I overproduce and have such forceful letdown, she would fill up on foremilk before the hindmilk got to her. We now…[Read more]

  • After 18 months of not having a period, it came back! I am only seeing a little bit of a change in output, not much. I have noticed that the flow and cramps are less severe then they were before i got pregnant with my daughter. I am hoping this is a new trend! I joked with my husband that my body was ready to start thinking about another baby… NOT!

My little one is 4 months old. I exclusively bf through pumping and putting it in a bottle. We tried getting her to latch on, but it was really difficult (forceful letdown, oversupply, gagging, etc) We found the best of both worlds and a solution that worked for OUR family and needs. We have started putting 1/2 tsp of oatmeal in her bottle at her…[Read more]

  • I am only pumping and my LO is 6 weeks old. Anyone else notice your milk supply increasing without you having to do anything. I assumed I would need to pump for longer to get my supply up- but now I am getting around 6 oz at each pumping and my breast are still so engorged.

Also- Anyone know about milk donation?
