• Hi Ladies,
So I just wanted to share some dates with you, for those with long cycles, or feeling like you may have ‘missed’ the egg..

I took a digital test today which indicates 1-2 weeks since conception. Which would suggest conception occurred on or after the 15th of July.

Ovulation was predicted by FF on 14th (CD 22) AND possibly the…[Read more]

  • Hi
Thanks for all the intrepretations on my photos. DH is away tonight and called to ask if I was sure the test was +, and asked if I bought any others to make sure! Lol.

I just want to thank you all for the support and knowledge I gained in this process. Turtlefur- I first learned abt FF from your post- I started using it this month ( as of…[Read more]

I have a question, is anyone else suddenly struggling with a bottle? When I need to go out I leave milk in the fridge or freezer for my mom to feed jake

Suddenly he has started rejecting a bottle . He screams, arches his back, pushes it away an tried to root out my mom! It might only be once a week he gets it in a bottle, but I’m worried as…[Read more]

Ha ha love the man analogy of whipping it out! Too funny.

I finally crashed today! Had a busy week of juggling work, baby, house work and bfing round the clock. Got up at 4 and 630 to feed and jacob stayed awake after 7am. By 1030 I lay down with him feeding on one side and we both fell asleep till now.

Have a ton of work to do though…[Read more]

I have a question- my baby is exculisvely breast fed – he is 2weeks 4 days old. He has bright red sore on his bum (in the crack). His poop turned greent today from nice yellow.

I don’t have any breast pains, no white spots on either of us….could it be thrush?

    Preglat
Af usually returns when you stop night feedings or begin going longer than 3 to 4 hours between feedings.
If your lo has been sleeping 9 hours a night, then the hormones produced by nursing that surpress ovulation are not being produced enough and at some point you may have ovulated, or at least af has returned.

    I co sleep with…[Read more]

From my xpierence and reading all your posts bfing is like a job itself! My DH is sweet but still has no idea! He came rushing home and said, let’s go for dinner, everyone is in the boat!
He had picked up friends in our boat.
I responded that I had to feed him, and then get dressed up a bit. He then expressed some dismay that everyone would…[Read more]

Just a question – how many of us ladies co sleep with their babies? I found a really interesting article how North American culture is one of the only cultures that puts babies in a separate room to sleep….most cultures keep the baby in the same bed or room.
It also discusses how in this ‘forth trimester’ after birth (being a newborn) co…[Read more]

Did you know that Breast Milk kills over 40 types of cancer? A family member of mine has been diagnosed with Cancer, and after a lot of research, we are taking a leap of faith and I’m donating milk to the cause.
Some interesting things – there is something in Breast Milk called HAMLET cells – these can be activated topically when mixed with…[Read more]

Just wondering for those who pump, what kind of pump you have and prefer?

I was using an electric mendela swing, and then got a manual one for travel, however, I liked it so much more, I bought 2 of them and keep one in my purse and one at home! I can get a lot more milk, and feel more mobile because I can walk around and do things while…[Read more]

All I want to say is that I love bf ing ! J still sleeps beside me in the nook of my arm, and, I seldom use a stroller, with the exception of walking on hiking trails. I always carry him in a sling or baby go. He loves shopping and reaches out and is so stimulated by the outtings we take. He never cries either, only if I’m not here and he wants…[Read more]

Hi I have an odd question. I accidently let 5 bags of milk thaw and I don’t want to waste them.

Does anyone know how to make skin creams w breast milk? I figure if putting milk directly on skin clears things up, maybe I can make a loition?

    Thanks

    Hi Ladies,
I just posted in my month, but am hoping you can give me some advice. Basically we had a guest staying with us who got a STAPH infection in his leg. I left and went to my parents just a day before it happened.

He went to the hospital for about 5 days for IV antibitotics and apparently its ‘cleared up now’. But is my home safe to…[Read more]

    Hello,
So i had another bottle rejection night. I went out shopping with my father for father’s day gifts (let him choose) and mum stayed home to watch J. I fed him (both sides) and then left. About 1.5hr later she called and he was screaming, rooting and pushing bottle away, trying to suck on her. He would NOT accept the bottle. She tried 3…[Read more]

I’m just wondering how some ladies come to the conclusion they are not producing enough milk? I can’t even estimate how much jacob consumes, I just latch him on and he eats. Sometimes fast and fierce, then slow like a trickle. In between, I sometimes feel engorged and pump, but usually when I tingle, he is hungry.

    Hi!
I’m still nursing my 17mnth old and am now 7 weeks pregnant. I’m curious to know if anyone has nursed through a pregnancy? Any problems? My doc thought the hormones produced could contribute to early labor?

Also, will my body change back to produce colustrum when I give birth?

  • balsamfir replied to the topic Breastfeeding in the forum Babies Forum 3 years, 6 months ago

NIP – At first I found it really challenging to nurse in public, partly because I was so awkward and i had to balance baby, pulling up my shirt, latching and Jacob was really fussy at the beginning.

However, it has gotten easier, and I can do it descretly. The major issue I struggle with is not the actual NURSING but that transition of getting…[Read more]

KINTA – I had nipple cracking and some bleeding at the beginning – it seemed to get worse with the oils and oiontments. My lactation consultant said to just put breast milk on it and air dry – amazingly it healed very quickly and never had any trouble again.
Try squirting some out and rubbing it all over, then let yourself air dry. I cut some…[Read more]
