mybaby-I’m sure you are fine. Stop timing nursing sessions and the frequency that you nurse. Every baby is different. For the first couple of months my LO lived on the boob. She’d nurse for like five minutes, fall asleep, nurse in about an hour, fall asleep, all was fine. Once they are a bit bigger they will go longer stretchs. It is…[Read more]

xtrish-On this forum, most people are pro breastfeeding. I don’t feel that it is more time consuming than formula feeding. It takes more of a committment on your part. But, if you have the attitude that you can’t do it, you won’t be able to. Having said that, have some confidence in yourself. Your body can do amazing things. I pump at work…[Read more]

I haven’t told him yet, he is going to flip out. I have this superstition about telling people before the first trimester, probably because I had a miscarriage before. He only wanted one child, so this is going to flip him right out. Plus, because he was arrested for DUI and Domestic Violence, he is not allowed to talk to me until his court date,…[Read more]

Hmmmm, Sadie will comfort nurse like five or six times a night. Only eats the tiniest bit. Anyone else? She’s almost six months and is at daycare all day. I feed her rice cereal and she has a good nurse before bedtime.

Dollybird-Congratulations! Totally normal. Baby’s tummy is the size of a large marble. Fills and empties quick. Be prepared for your LO to live on the breast for quite awhile. Enjoy it, my girls is 12 months and I totally miss that:)

Maree-Do you have a breast pump?

Anyone have a family bed? Do you find that your baby sleep crawls? My lo has started, she ends up all over the place! One time I had to hunt around to find her at the foot of the mattress. There are pillows and folded up quilts all around in case she falls off, but I have never heard of this!

Also, when Sadie was about month old she’d only have a poop once or twice per week. Somebody already mentioned it, it’s because there is little waste with breastmilk. EBF babies hardly ever get constipated. So don’t use the poopy diapers as a barometer, as long as there are wet ones, baby is doing fine:) You’re doing great, this is the hardest…[Read more]

    Hi ladies-
New some advice. I’m getting a pump tomorrow, sadie will be 1 month old. My question is, she will nurse every two hours, sometimes every hour. At night she will go three hours at a time. What is the best way to start pumping? I am a sahm for the summer, but would like to get her drinking breast milk from a bottle so she is…[Read more]

Okay, so upon inspection I did find mold in the ‘horns’ of my breastpump. Since milk did touch it, does that mean I need to throw out my freezer supply since I don’t know how long it has been there?

Okay, so haven’t been on for awhile, filed for divorce and trying to organize things. For the heck of it, since I still didn’t get my period yet, i took a Pregnancy test today and it was positive!! With Sadie, we tried for a year and had to take clomid in order to conceive. I am not even kidding when I say we had been fighting so much lately…[Read more]

Aydensmommy- Your body will automatically revert back to colostrom, your new bundles need will ‘trump’ your old bundle. Often the older baby will stop nursing and self wean because of the change in milk, but some won’t. A lot of women tandem nurse. Google it, ultimately it is up to you, but don’t feel like your older baby needs to wean.

could be post partum bleeding. Where the placenta was attached leaves a big sore that heals up in the weeks after birth. could be that a scab came loose and it bled a little bit again.

    Rose,
I don’t every ‘burp’ her. After she’s done, during the day, I sit her up and sometimes she’ll burp, rarely though. At night when we ‘sleep nurse’ I never sit her up and she’s fine. She is a good little farter though:)

    Maree,
We’ve all been there! Don’t worry, he won’t starve from spitting up. I’d try to continue with breastfeeding and just try to feed more frequently with smaller amounts. Your nipples will heal quickly, try the Lansinoh cream. If you have a pump you can store milk so you can get a break here and there and someone else can do the night…[Read more]

I really don’t think we’d care if she were three and still wanted to sleep with us. We’d prob. need a bigger bed though. Sooner than we know it we will be begging for the days when we were their whole world. We full on subscribe to attachment parenting, that is, following your infants lead as much as possible. What is strange to me is that I…[Read more]
